The Easy Way to Complete the K-Driven 1 Million Meters Achievement

I’m normally not someone who collects achievements. But for Warframe, after I hit True Master, I needed something to do. I had completed most challenges in the game and there was very little left to do. So, for some reason, I turned to Warframe’s achievements on Steam. As soon as I did that, I realized that I had a monumental task ahead of me.

I needed to travel over 1 million meters on my K-Drive. 1,000,000m. And so far, since Fortuna came out, three years ago nearly, I’d only managed 10% of that. Barely made a dent in it. But K-Driven was one of the last achievements I needed, and there was no way I was going to get the achievement any time soon. Not without a LOT of difficulty.

A HUGE task

If you want to do the task legitimately, it’ll take you forever. K-Drive races only go so far, but they get dull. You could opt for traveling the perimeter of the Orb Vallis, but that’s boring. Plus, enemies spawn while you’re K-driving and WILL try to kill you.

Luckily though, you can somewhat bypass this immense distance. All you have to do is get out of bounds, then fall for a really long time.

Just yeet yourself out of the Orb Vallis

The trick to this is to get so far out of bounds, that you miss the fade-to-black that normally resets you. You can do this by heading to any of the corners of the map. Once you are at one, hop on your K-Drive, get your speed up then throw yourself at the border. While on your K-Drive, you aren’t affected by the freezing and slowing effect.

You then want to do a trick and bail, falling off your K-Drive. If you go far enough, you’ll fly past the reset area and fall downwards into a dark void. You can now jump on your K-Drive and, well, just wait.

This can be a little finicky though. Doesn’t always work first try. If you are just being reset, you can bypass this by quickly switching to Archwing, flying up and forward, then jumping off and activating your K-Drive again. Alternatively, use your Operator to gain some height and distance away from the Orb Vallis. Having both K-Drive and Archwing on your hot keys or early in your gear wheel slots makes this a lot easier.

Basically, you want to get as far away from the Orb Vallis as possible, then switch to your K-Drive. You’ll slowly but surely start accumulating distance on the K-Driven achievement, and you can tab away to something else with ease. Just an endless fall into the void.

Keep an eye on it

There is a downside to this tactic though. Every so often, at random, no matter how far you fall, you stop earning points towards the achievement. I’m not sure why this happens, but when it does, you have to start over. You’ve keep the distance you’ve accumulated so far, but won’t gain any extra.

Fortunately, keeping an eye on the achievement is easy. You can check your progress at any time by hitting ESC, clicking your profile and going to the achievements tab.

I hope this helps some people, because, damn, doing it legitimately is no fun at all…
