The Easy Fortuna and Deimos Resource Farms

With each Open World in Warframe, we get a lot of resources that aren’t really available anywhere else. Most open world resources also have an annoying habit of being ingredients for various blueprints too, meaning you need to keep them in stock. Some of these resources are also needed for leveling up various syndicates and groups too.

However, the way to gain these resources comes from two specific places: mining and fishing.

They are so sloooow.

Mining and fishing both can eat up a lot of time, if you do them normally. Moving to each little gem or mineral deposit, playing the minigame and then moving onto the next small nodule can be tiring and tedious. Especially as the little mineral location marker can be a bit finnicky.

Fishing is similar, but at least you can see what you get before you try and, well, catch it. But fishing in the Orb Vallis and the Cambion Drift are both a pain in the ass, as the window for the rare fish is much smaller than for common fish. Also, Deimos’s Infested spawn constantly, making fishing far less peaceful. The window for catching fish during warm weather on the Orb Vallis is 5 minutes.

What most people don’t realize though is that there is a… much more random but also potentially far, far easier method of getting what you need: canisters.

Loot canisters are littered all over both Deimos and the Orb Vallis. And these canisters have a chance to drop nearly any resource from their corresponding open world areas. And the great thing is, these canisters respawn.

How do you make this happen though? Quite easily, although it is pretty random. And all you need is a Smeeta. Actually, I say that, you don’t need anything while you smash canisters. An Ignis helps, both with AoE flames and annoying enemies, but again, it’s optional.

For Fortuna, things couldn’t be easier. There are 4 to 5 canisters that spawn behind the entrance into Fortuna. A couple on your left, next to the building materials. There are 2 to 3 canisters to the right and behind as well. These canisters can respawn if you move far away enough. To speed things up, jump into Archwing, fly around the coolant tower then fly back. The canisters respawn within that time, although not always in the same spot.

On Deimos, things are even easier. Just use an ignis and destroy all the little rolercyst canisters. They can contain spawn all sorts and there are many, many of them scattered around Deimos.

However, if you desire a more… honourable way to get tons of resources, there are options there too. Isolation Vaults on Deimos do generally give you good rewards, they can be tedious to do, as you have to follow Loid around the area charging crystals. On the Orb Vallis, the Exploiter Orb drops a TON of stuff when she dies, and also gives you precious Toroids. Exploiter Orb can take a while do complete, but you can do it with pretty much any Warframe.

Oddly enough though, the Plains of Eidolon lack these sorts of loot canisters. The closest thing to loot canisters is fighting a Thumper. Like Exploiter, Thumpers can drop a lot of loot. But that is assuming they ever spawn.

But yeah, if you are patient and willing, you can get a ton of fish and gen parts for very little work. You just have to smash boxes and that’s it. Easy loot with no real hassle.
