My Favourite Semi-Rare Pokemon from Pokemon GO

In Pokemon GO, I have nearly 2000 Pokemon. While that number can be decreased, there’s also plenty of cool Pokemon in that collection. In fact, I have several pretty cool Pokemon that could actually be considered kinda rare. Here are some of them.

Perfect Armoured Mewtwo

Armoured Mewtwo is an odd one. The actual armour doesn’t actually look that great. In fact, it looks over-designed and nit at all comfy in any way. But this particular Armoured Mewtwo was actually a tie-in for a Pokemon movie that was coming out at the time. Either way, we actually haven’t seen this Mewtwo since the film-based event, and it’s probably not coming back.

And of course, my one is 100%. Because I’m lucky like that.

Unfortunately, Armoured Mewtwo just isn’t as good as a normal Mewtwo, even if it can learn Rock Slide.

Shadow Shinx with a hat

This Shinx was caught during the 2022 Fashion Week. During that event, there were a lot of Pokemon who were wearing hats. Somehow, while doing my normal routine of kicking the shit out of a Team Rocket grunt, I actually managed to get a Shinx with a hat on it. Shinx was spawning in the wild, but there was a very small window where Shinx could appear via the electric-type Team Rocket grunt. It’s sheer luck that I got this Shinx, to be honest. But I love it, even if I can’t evolve it or anything.

Perfect Shadow Suicune

This Pokemon still makes me pretty excited, every time I get to show it off. Sure, Suicune isn’t a great legendary in Pokemon GO, but it’s got 100% IVs! How can I not like it? That being said, I haven’t really levelled this Suicune up, in hopes that it’ll be great for PvP. After all, Suicune is a chunky Pokemon. Just needs some better moves. Like, for example, a water-type fast move. Which this water Pokemon is severely lacking…

Shiny Lucario

I don’t even remember the event where I hatched a shiny Riolu. I assume it was some sort of egg-based event, and shiny Riolu/Lucario were just debuting. Either way, I gave my shiny Riolu a second move, then evolved him into Lucario. I actually use this Lucario quite a lot, mainly for farming hearts for buddy Pokemon. Maybe one day I’ll max it out, but I do also have a 100% Lucario which IS maxed out.

The more amazing thing is that I used to have TWO shiny Lucarios. My second Lucario was sent in a lucky trade to my brother. In exchange, brother traded me a shiny Mewtwo. That Mewtwo turned out to be perfect. While I did get the better Pokemon from a lucky trade, brother got something much, much rarer. Shiny Lucario is an incredibly elusive Pokemon in the first place, only being hatch-able from eggs. So the fact that I got two is insane.

Perfect Shiny Skarmory

I always quite liked Skarmory. It’s a big, metal bird that floats around ominously, while also having a tricky type combination: Steel and Flying. Because of this and its bulk, Skarmory has been pretty good in PvP for a long time. But this Skarmory, I actually found it completely by accident, during the 2021 GO Fest event. Actually, I found it after the event, when I was busy clearing some space for all my new Pokemon. On a whim I entered 4* and there it was, a shiny, 100% Skarmory. Ironically, a perfect Skarmory isn’t too good in Great League. But I don’t care, as it’s my second ever perfect shiny Pokemon.

I do have a lot of other Pokemon that are both cool and rare, but these ones are my favourites.
