Medic Plays Pokemon Violet – Part 2

I’m back here, playing more Pokemon Violet, but guess what? There’s a time skip! After going to bed after my first day at school, there’s a massive time skip, up until the school’s big event, the Treasure Hunt.

Honestly, I am just perplexed by the time skip.

But anyway, the time skip passes and we are left standing outside the school, being told about the treasure hunt. There’s no actual treasure or anything. It’s basically the school director telling the kids to explore the island rather than doing classes, in a bid to get them all outside and, uh, learn things for themselves. The idea is to find yourself and become a true Pokemon trainer. Or some bollocks like that. In fact, there’s basically no rules at all, except for one: don’t go to the crater in the middle of Paldea.

Frankly it’s a pretty dangerous idea. Anywhere else doing this would probably end up shutting down due to risking lives. Actually, I take that back. Most areas just send out their ten year old kids to have fun and stuff.

I’m getting sidetracked.

So everyone cheers after the treasure hunt is announced, and people begin splitting up to start their adventures. I’m standing around seeing what I want to do, when Nemona and Arven both come up to me, asking me what I’m going to do. I can either do gyms and work my way up, or I can find some massive Pokemon to get some rare herbs. In fact, Nemona and Arven both start arguing about me and what they want me to do. Then I get interrupted by Cassiopeia, the phone hacker, who asks me to take on Team Star. On my own. For some reason.

Amusingly, as someone mentions food, Miraidon suddenly bursts out of its Pokeball, looking for a sandwich. Miraidon then turns into a bike which I can now ride. With a way to travel freely, Arven and Nemona suggest leaving Mesagoza via the east and west gates to start my adventure.

Just to spite both of them, I leave via the southern gate. Because there’s something I need to do first.

Off to explore the world!
Off to explore the world!

Remember back when I helped Miraidon and it saved me from being trapped in a cave? Well that cave was filled with my favourite Pokemon, Hondour. The first thing I do is leave Mesagoza and go back to that cave, to catch me a Houndour. It doesn’t take long to find one, and I swiftly catch the first Houndour I see. Small problem, it’s only level 3. My starter Pokemon was given to me at level 5. So I need to level this cute skull doggo and bring him up to the same level as my other Pokemon.

My party is currently quite interesting now. Alongside Ringo the Weed Cat and Flafflebutt the Houndour, I also have a Wooper, a Rockruff, a Shinx and some small flaming Pokemon that I can’t remember the name of. So far, all the new Pokemon I’ve seen are all really tiny and I’m not sure why. Either way, before I get to work on either gyms or titans, I decide to go off on my own, catching any Pokemon I see, while also leveling up my party.

This… might take a while. The EXP gains aren’t amazing, battling all these low level Pokemon.

I’ll be back in a bit.
