The Volt Electrolyst Skin

For a long time, I used to complain how the Volt Proto skin was ugly and not really a deluxe skin. Most deluxe skins generally add more to a Warframe and not less. But the Proto skin was a stripped down Volt, and frankly, it was just really… lame. Particularly the helmet, which I think pretty much everyone replaced with the Volt Arrester Tennogen helmet. Eventually though, Volt would get more skins. Two, in fact. The first one is the Voidshell Volt skin. Voidshell skins came along with the Angels of the Zariman update, and allow you not only to… [Continue Reading]

Slowpoke Community Day

Community days are always fun, and this is no real exception. Slowpoke is a pretty cute Pokemon (and one of my brother’s favourites) so it’s nice to get something a bit different. Cute little things Both forms of Slowpoke are adorable and a bit useless. Their evolutions on the hand are a bit more interesting. Mainly because they’re being bitten by another Pokemon. It’s almost as parasitic as Paras and Parasect. Anyway there’s plenty of both. The Kanto Slowpoke’s shiny is rather faint, but the Galarian Slowpoke goes yellow all over. If you know me well enough, you can recall… [Continue Reading]

Takeaways from a Half-Life Marathon

Dark Energy, Half Life 2’s final chapter, is the capstone to a five year struggle at Valve Software. At long last, Half-Life had its sequel. Easily one of the most anticipated and highly rated PC Games of all time, Half-Life 2 ushered in a new standard for single player FPS. It’s a damn shame the ending sucked. Ripped from a reactor explosion by the eponymous G-Man, Half-Life 2 ends just as it starts: With Gordon in escrow and future uncertain. A follow-up would come, but a pattern had already emerged. “Half-Life just can’t wrap it up.” Between a low gravity duel… [Continue Reading]

On Not Playing As A Warframe

I’m gonna be honest. I’m not as interested as everyone else is when it comes to the Duviri Paradox. Why? It’s pretty simple. Despite being a huge new island of potential, you start off not playing as a Warframe. For a game called and about Warframes, much of our newer content over the years isn’t really about the Warframes. Sure we have things like Citrine’s Last Wish, which is about a Warframe, but major content drops have been all about nothing but the Warframes. Or even really the Operators. The New War was all about the Drifter, and it seems… [Continue Reading]

A New Beginning with the Duviri Paradox?

Warframe has always had a problem with actually getting into the game. Once you’ve completed Vor’s Prize, it’s a long, often convoluted journey even to complete the star chart. This means that many new players never actually get to try the cool things, like Necramechs and the New War. A lot of the new, fun and interesting stuff actually has a lot of requirements. The New War in particular required both a Necramech and a Railjack. Both of which are… Not so much end-game content, but still pains in the ass to obtain. Railjacks in particular have had their costs… [Continue Reading]

The Little Gap Between Events

As of writing, there is no event going on in Pokemon GO. The Festival of Colours event has ended, and we’re getting a Team Rocket-based event coming next week. Because there is no event going on, we get basic seasonal spawns. Pokemon that spawn naturally in the wild, based on whatever season we’re in. By ‘season’, I don’t mean normal, in-real-life seasons, I mean the ones in Pokemon GO. They do kinda sorta co-exist with real seasons, but the seasonal spawns aren’t always related to winter or spring or whatever. The current season is Rising Heroes, and we’re expecting more… [Continue Reading]

On Using The Right Counters

During the Hoenn Tour, one of the main features was doing raids. We were raiding for Groudon and Kyogre, which had reverted into their Primal forms, making them much, much more powerful. They had a  CP of about 90,000 each, which is nearly double what normal legendary Pokemon have. So, in order to defeat these monsters, we needed to use the best teams possible. Did we all do that? Well, I did. Organized teams I had separate teams for both Kyogre and Groudon. Against Primal Groudon, I used a collection of (normal) Kyogres, while using a Mega Gyarados to boost… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays Pokemon Violet – Part 11

The last thing that Miraidon needs is the ability to climb walls. Luckily, Miraidon can learn that if we go to Paldea’s massive lake, which is filled with level 50+ Pokemon. Really, I should be staying away from this place. After all, aside from Ringo, all my Pokemon are around level 40, with one of them being only level 35. But here I am, on an island in the middle of a sea, looking for a gigantic Pokemon that’s not there yet. Instead, I find myself battling a Tatsugiri that repeatedly says “Taitan”, giving away that it is in fact… [Continue Reading]

Legendary Rank 2

So, after a really weird grind, I finally made my way to Legendary 2, the current (at the time of writing) highest rank you can get. I originally wasn’t actually chasing after Legendary Rank 2, but after playing a bit of Citrine’s Last Wish, I realized I was way closer than I thought. So I decided why not, and went ahead to farm a few things. And by farming, I mostly mean trading. After selling a Legendary Core (probably the one I got for reaching Legendary Rank 1, ironically), I put some platinum to one side and traded for Khora… [Continue Reading]

In Rainbows From the Basement

I am a big fan of Radiohead. To the point that I’ve actually seen them play live. To the extent that I’m actually in the crowd of Earls Court, where 2+2=5 was played live and added to the b-side album Com Lag. Okay that last one is due to sheer chance, but I really do love Radiohead. It speaks to me. However, what I enjoy more is hearing different versions of various songs. Radiohead have been around for a stupidly long time, and so many of their songs have been redone, remixed and completely reworked. While other bands covering Radiohead… [Continue Reading]
