Thoughts on the 3900th Article and more

This isn’t the 3900th article. In fact, the 3900th article was posted back on September 27th. And, for a change, it wasn’t an article that I wrote. Glacier penned a fantastic article about Halo’s Digsite Matters, reviewing it all in a splendid article you can find here. It’s actually a great article, I really like it. I’ve never really been a massive Halo fan, but Glacier’s writing sells it to me. Now I kinda want to play this Crash Site necromancy, to see everything that Bungie wanted to put into Halo and couldn’t. Was this article intended to be the… [Continue Reading]

Medic Goes to Cyprus Comic Con 2023

It’s been a while since I went to any big event, let alone a comic con. The coronavirus kinda made it a lot harder to do in-person conventions, and while things have mostly cleared up now, there’s always a small worry that things could spike again. Either way, here we are, at Cyprus Comic Con 2023. It’s been a long time, and it’s one of the few things where O get to go out in a costume, rather than boring old normal clothes. This year though, I have been insanely busy, especially since I spent August moving in to a… [Continue Reading]

Too Many Shinies?

Sometimes, one suffers from success. In most Pokemon games, shiny Pokemon are stupidly rare and hard to get. It’s almost pure luck, and you can only increase your chances with bizarre methods, or by completely filling the game’s Pokedex, which gives you an item to make things ever so slightly easier. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet though, hunting for shinies was made a lot easier, thanks to special sandwiches that boost the chance of shiny Pokemon appearing nearby. However, even Scarlet and Violet’s ways of getting shiny Pokemon are anywhere near as close as the chances in Pokemon GO. In… [Continue Reading]

Sea of Thieves Isn’t A Hard Game

I’ve been playing Sea of Thieves for a while now, and I like to think I am quite good at it. Sure, I’m not amazing, but I can get in a boat, sail it to an island or two and shoot some skeletons or ghosts. I’d struggle to do a Legend of the Veil quest on my own, however, I am at least somewhat competent. However, I don’t really have that many hours in Sea of Thieves, and I play rather irregularly, meaning that I don’t really get much practice. I also play with very, very competent pirates so I… [Continue Reading]

Colours, Shapes and Eyes

The human eye is an amazing thing. It’s what lets us see the world around us, with varying degrees of success. We have three cones in our eyes, allowing us to see most colours, mainly red, green and blue. This means that we can live in a bright, lustrous world. Assuming your eyes actually work, of course. But the eye is a very complicated organ that doesn’t do anything unless there’s a brain attached to it. Without the brain automatically correcting things, eyes just project upside down images into nothing. What’s the most interesting thing though is that the eyes… [Continue Reading]

Things That Annoy Me About The Buddy System in Pokemon GO

I like the buddy system in Pokemon GO. It’s very simple and basic, but it’s nice to have a companion Pokemon that follows you around and gives you certain gifts and buffs as you level your buddy up. But the system is certainly not perfect, and there are definitely some things that annoy me. My first pet peeve is feeding buddies with berries. You need three berries initially to get started and have your buddy wander around, and feeding it additional berries will keep your buddy out in the real world. To earn hearts, you have to feed your buddy… [Continue Reading]

One of Those Days Where You Don’t Want to Write

I am in a funny mood today. I don’t really want to do anything. I just want to sit around and watch some classic UK-based television shows. Normally, I’m not like this, I’m normally a busy bee, keeping myself occupied with various things, mostly Youtube, writing and video games, although I occasionally do some art too. That being said, I haven’t drawn anything cool in ages. But today is different. There’s laziness in the air and I find myself not wanting to do anything. In particular though, I find myself not wanting to write. This is a bit of a… [Continue Reading]

The Third Monkey Island Tall Tale was Fun

Finally, we got the third Tall Tale from the Monkey Island series. We finally get to properly help Guybrush and defeat LeChuck once and for all. But we’ve got a lot of work to do in order to save the day! And it all starts by going through a portal, to a mystical paradise. The island is fun to explore The Lair of LeChuck takes place not on Melee Island but Monkey Island. Monkey Island feels like a big place and has a lot of exploring to do on it. Most of the puzzle solving went on up here, and… [Continue Reading]

400 Pokemon in 6 Days

I don’t normally consider myself a hardcore player. I do play Pokemon GO daily, and I do have a lot of Pokemon, but there’s quite a few things I don’t do. For example, I don’t play in the GBL or really do any PvP stuff, because I find it boring and somewhat luck-based with the bugs and lag that you get while playing. But I can’t really call myself a casual player either, because I’m over level 40, on my way to level 45 and frankly I probably play a little bit too much. However, I recently realized just I’m… [Continue Reading]

On Starter Pokemon in Pokemon GO

Starter Pokemon in Pokemon GO are kinda weird. Almost all of them are somewhat useless until they get their Community Day moves. However, the time it takes to get a Community Day move is generally quite a while. For example, Greninja was unable to get his Community Day moves for a good year or so, maybe two. And at the same time, Charmander’s evolution Charizard already has two Community Day moves. One of which is honestly kinda useless outside of PvP. However, most starter Pokemon are missing out, and even fewer manage to get their signature moves. Greninja and Blaziken… [Continue Reading]
