A Weird Halloween Two-Parter

Every game right now is having its Halloween event. Halloween is a massive holiday in gaming, even if you don’t live in the US, Canada or Europe. Which is nice because, where I live, we don’t really celebrate Halloween. However, Pokemon GO is having a weird two-part event for Halloween. Halloween part 1 and Halloween part 2. So far, we’ve just been given Halloween part 1. However, there’s not really much in it. It’s mostly just a bunch of ghost type Pokemon, and the return of the Halloween map from last year. Although I noticed that, during the day, the… [Continue Reading]

Another Ramble about Costumed Pokemon

As of writing, we are on part 2 of a two-part Halloween event in Pokemon GO. Alongside all your normal ghost types, this year, we have a ton of new costumed Pokemon. But these costumed Pokemon are different. They can evolve. Yep, we got a costumed Vulpix and a costumed Pumpkaboo, and both of them can evolve into Ninetails and Gourgeist, keeping their costumes as they do so. Both of the basic Pokemon are also shiny-eligible but, although you can find wild Ninetails and Gourgeist with the costumes on, they can’t be shiny. Pretty common stuff with the shiny versions,… [Continue Reading]

Zorua Is Both Here and Obvious

After a very, very long wait, Zorua is finally available in Pokemon GO. Debuting in the Halloween Event Part 2, Zorua had a rocky start and was initially disabled, but it was released towards the end of the event, ready to disguise itself. Because that’s what this familiar, well-loved Pokemon does. And who does it disguise as? Our buddies, of course. Zorua is very obvious. Normally, spawning disguised as your buddy sounds pretty cool. Especially if you’re walking something like a Noibat or perhaps a Deino. Seeing something rare on your Pokemon radar will make you rush over to it.… [Continue Reading]

CTF_Crasher, the Most Interesting New TF2 Map in Years

I’ve found myself occasionally leaping back into TF2 these days. I’m not sure why, maybe I just miss the mixture of arena shooter mechanics and incredible character design/writing. But anyway, with Scream Fortress 2022 in full swing, I’ve had a chance to play all the new maps, and I really really like ctf_crasher. Overview For those who haven’t tried it, ctf_crasher is the first ‘new’ game mode we’ve received in years. While nominally Capture the Flag, it’s actually ‘reverse CTF’ in that both teams are trying to deliver their bomb to the enemy camp. And whichever character carries their team’s… [Continue Reading]

Destiny 2’s Halloween Event Kinda Sucked Too

The other day, I rambled on about how Warframe’s Halloween event sucked. Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of games are having a slow Halloween this year. Destiny 2 at least had a few new things, including some cool Halloween costumes. But, like a lot of other games, Destiny 2’s event was tedious and not even that spooky. Bye Bye Infinite Forest, Hello Haunted Lost Sectors For previous years, Destiny 2 had the Infinite Forest. The Halloween event was pretty damn simple: rush through a Vex simulation killing as many enemies as possible, with random areas every time. A massive… [Continue Reading]

The Dark Infested Assassination

“Wowee, it’s dark in here!” Three of the four Tenno turned around slowly, looking at Excalibur. “No, really?” Wisp snorted. “We hadn’t noticed, new guy.” “He’s right though!” Chroma took Excalibur’s side quite quickly. “It IS really dark in here, more so than usual. Far, far darker than us-” Chroma’s sentence was interrupted by the sound of Nova tripping up and bumping into him. “Like I said, darker than usual.” The dragon knight tutted as he helped Nova up off the floor. “Are you alright?” Nova brushed off dirt and what felt like slime off her shoulder, then adjusted her… [Continue Reading]

Warframe’s Naberus Event Is Lame

Like pretty much every other game right now, Warframe is in the middle of its Halloween event. Halloween is generally a good thing for gamers, since most games will have fun extras to them, especially in MMOs and games with lots of cosmetics. If it’s a popular game, then there will almost certainly be a tie-in or event regarding Halloween. At the very least, there’ll be a few pumpkins strewn about. However, this year, Warframe’s Halloween event has been very lackluster. Like, really, really lackluster. It’s not an event, it’s a shop. Yeah. A spooky shop. In the Necralisk, Daughter… [Continue Reading]

Oh No! A Dragon Wing Ephemera!

I’ll be honest, I’m a sucker for a good pair of wings. Being a person who loves dragons, wings are part of the bundle. That being said, I don’t normally put wings on anything in video games. Mostly because they block my view. Warframe is the one exception to this rule, because most of the wings in Warframe are rather stylized. And they neatly pack away so they’re not so cumbersome. Well, the folding away thing applies more for Syandanas, cloaks for our backs. However, we have two new pairs of wings that are actually ephemera. Easy-to-obtain Ephemera, considering I… [Continue Reading]

A Look Back At Pokemon GO’s Halloween Event

Pokemon GO always has pretty good Halloween events, and this year was pretty good as well. There were lots of nice bonuses, lots of Pokemon to catch and plenty of shinies to not be caught. We also had plenty of smaller events alongside the Halloween spawns, and there was plenty of things to do. Of course, though, there were some downsides as well. Amazing event bonuses I mean, who doesn’t like double candy? Even if it’s for things like Gastly and Misdreavus. Ghost types, particularly Gengar and Chandelure, are always helpful Pokemon to have. We also got double transfer candy… [Continue Reading]

I made a Scream Fortress 12 Update Page and don’t know what to do with it.

So, uh, yeah. Team Fortress 2 had an update. I haven’t actually opened Team Fortress 2 to see what it was, but it’s here. In fact, it’s the Scream Fortress update. Weirdly though, the Scream Fortress update came insanely early this year. Normally it’s the middle of the month, stretching into the first week of November. This year though? Literally an entire month and then some! What’s actually in this update though? Oh, nothing much, just your standard Scream Fortress update. No fun update page like in the past. A bunch of cosmetics and war paints. Some new Halloween-only unusual… [Continue Reading]
