One of Those Days Where You Don’t Want to Write

I am in a funny mood today. I don’t really want to do anything. I just want to sit around and watch some classic UK-based television shows. Normally, I’m not like this, I’m normally a busy bee, keeping myself occupied with various things, mostly Youtube, writing and video games, although I occasionally do some art too. That being said, I haven’t drawn anything cool in ages. But today is different. There’s laziness in the air and I find myself not wanting to do anything. In particular though, I find myself not wanting to write. This is a bit of a… [Continue Reading]

Faster Than A Speeding Badger

Editor’s note: This article was written by my mum. Today marks the third year since my mum passed away, and I am posting this in memory of her. Her passing was sudden, and the world became a darker place without her presence. Mum was a wonderful woman and the best mum ever. I hope you enjoy this article, which gives us just a small glance into her insane and magnificent mind. My son has a stock range of questions that he brings up roughly every 2 days or so to either confirm an answer I have previously given or to… [Continue Reading]

On Watching The Great British Bake Off

I’ve always enjoyed cooking and baking, and I like watching cooking videos. But I don’t normally watch reality TV shows featuring cooking. Because of this, I’ve kinda avoided the Great British Bake Off for a long time. Turns out, that’s a mistake of mine, I’ve been missing out on a lot of fun. What first dragged me in was a clip from the show, featuring the comedian Alex Horne, the guy who created and stars in Taskmaster as the Taskmaster’s assistant. I watched a bunch of other clips and decided that, maybe, it was worth having a look at. Most… [Continue Reading]

You Hum It, I’ll Sing It

Editor’s note: The article you are about to read was originally written by my mum, the person who inspired me to write all those years ago. Today would have been her birthday, so, to celebrate, we are publishing this article, originally written in 2008. Mum was the best person in the entire world, and it pains me that she is no longer with us. I hope you enjoy this snippet of my mum’s insanity. You hum it, son, and I’ll play it I am not a musical person, and it is much to my distress – and everyone else’s –… [Continue Reading]

UK Panel Shows You Should Try

I absolutely adore UK panel shows. Namely comedy ones. I’ll happily binge my way through comedy shows, and plenty of them are available on Youtube in one way or another. Here are my favourites. Taskmaster Taskmaster is definitely at the top of this list. It’s not quite the same as the following panel shows, but it’s still hilarious. No matter the series, you are greeted with a happy cast and all sorts of weird tasks. At first, you might not know the cast very well, but by the end of it, you’re cheering all of them and enjoying how they… [Continue Reading]

On Moving and Having So Much Crap

I have so much stuff. So much stuff just lying around. I don’t even remember buying some of this stuff, but here I am, looking at my stuff and trying to decide if I want to keep it. Or if I need it or something. I just don’t know. I don’t want to say that I am a hoarder, but I am a bit of a hoarder. I have a lot of things that could easily go into the bin or to a charity shop. Things I don’t remember buying. Things that get given to me to tidy away. I… [Continue Reading]

Deaths of the Universe

The Universe isn’t really that old. It’s about 13-14 billion years old. Sounds like a big number, but in the world of mathematics, it’s tiny. It’s relatively young, when you think about it. But what will the universe do when it does get old? How can a universe die? While this is a rather morbid question, I find myself thinking about it a lot. The death of the universe is so far away that we don’t need to stress about it. It’s something for far future humans to worry about. Assuming we get that far. Anyway, despite being so far… [Continue Reading]

My Favourite Cooking Channels

I like to cook. Most of the time, I cook twice a day, for lunch and for dinner. In the mean time, I happen to watch a lot of cooking channels as well. While I don’t always follow the recipes these channels post, I do use them for inspiration when I don’t know what to cook. That being said, I find myself always missing an ingredient or two. Anyway, here are some cooking channels I recommend. Barry Lewis Barry Lewis is a cook who does all sorts of weird stuff. Originally named My Virgin Kitchen, Barry tries all kinds of… [Continue Reading]

A Ramble About Updating Things

Everything these days seems to need updating. It’s rare that something will just go on working without any sort of outside influence, at least online. And since everything is online now, it’s easier to update things. But frankly, updates for the things I regularly use have been pissing me off lately. Recently, I got a notification to update the theme we use here on the Daily SPUF. It’s a pretty simple thing, nothing unusual. Unfortunately though, an update to the theme actually kinda broke the website. For some reason, the menu was broken and massive icons filled the screen. I… [Continue Reading]

Hellsing Ultimate Abridged

I’m not a huge fan of anime. Partly because I don’t really know where to watch it, but also because there’s a lot of anime genres that I don’t particularly like. Also I have a short attention span and don’t really like watching tons and tons of episodes. I don’t particularly watch western cartoons either. As a kid, I did watch things like Dragonball Z, which I have mentioned in the past, but after the age of twelve, I kinda stopped watching cartoons at all, instead only catching snippets of badly dubbed episodes of Pokemon. But now I’m older and… [Continue Reading]
