A Rant About Aggron

The other day, I wasted a remote raid pass. I saw a Legendary Mega Raid for Mega Latias, saw 4 other people doing it and thought I’d join in. 5 accounts sounded plenty, right? As I jumped in, I felt even better as I noticed that I was the lowest account there, at level 45. It takes genuine effort to get to level 40, let alone 45. Yet somehow we failed this raid. We failed it 4 times before I gave up, having gone through a huge number of potions and revives. The Mega Latias had Charm and Psychic and… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon GO Events I’d Like To See

Pokemon GO has constant events, but honestly, after a few years, we haven’t really had any… new ones. A lot of the events we have are repeated every year. There’s events for popular holidays, we have the Ultra Unlocks in August, there’s always various fossil-based events in September and Halloween consists of extra candy and spooky Ghost types. However, I’d like to see more varied events. More interesting ones. So I’ve written down a few of my ideas. Cats VS Dogs I think I mentioned this in a previous article on this very subject, but I really do think a… [Continue Reading]

On Replaying The Monkey Island Tall Tales

The other day, we were meant to go sailing as Reapers, but half the team never turned up. We kinda tend to avoid using sloops because they’re less fun, and because I get 2 minute respawn timers, one death tends to fuck me up entirely. But rather than not doing anything at all, Bacxaber and I decided to go and redo The Lair of LeChuck, since we both needed to replay it for a stupid cosmetic. When the Monkey Island tall tales came out, they came with a bunch of commendations but not really any rewards. For completing the last… [Continue Reading]

On Not Bothering With Shadow Ho-Oh

Today (at least, the day on which I’m writing this article), there’s an event in Pokemon GO where Shadow Ho-Oh is appearing in shadow 5-star raids. The boss itself isn’t that difficult, and can be taken out with two players with strong counters, with Party Play making that even easier. Sure, you need a bunch of Purified Gems, to stop the raid boss from having double attack and double defenses, but overall, it’s not that hard a boss. Ho-Oh has a double weakness to rock, and there are a LOT of Pokemon which can deal a lot of good rock… [Continue Reading]

Hisuian Decidueye Raid Day

While they’re not technically ‘days’, considering they only last from 2pm to 5pm local time, I do like Raid Days. They disappeared for a while, during and after the main bulk of the COVID pandemic (which we are technically still in), before becoming a once-per-season thing. However, the last two seasons, we’ve seen more of them, and the current season has had one a month, for each of the Hisui starter Pokemon. February 2024 had Hisuian Decidueye, the evolution of Rowlet. Okay, sure, we just had Rowlet Community Day back in January, but I guess they wanted to release normal… [Continue Reading]

A Thought On Improving Emissary Competition in Sea of Thieves

In Sea of Thieves, we have six emissaries that we can sail under. However, despite being warned that emissaries are a target for enemy players, there’s kinda only really been one faction that’s designed to go around and hunt other emissaries. The Reaper’s Bones reward good gold if you bring them the flags of any other emissary ship, even other Reapers. Sure, there’s now the Hourglass battles between the Servants of the Flame and the Guardians of Fortune, but raising an Athena’s Fortune or Reaper’s Bones flag is optional, and flags are very easily lost due to the guaranteed win/loss… [Continue Reading]

Cheating in Sea of Thieves

If you have a multiplayer game, then you’ll stumble across cheaters. And, it turns out, Sea of Thieves has pretty much no anti-cheat system what so ever. Sure, Rare have said that they’re developing an anti-cheat system, but they’ve been saying that for a while. In the mean time, all you can really do is record other players that you suspect of cheating, then send videos to Rare for them to inspect. While having no anti-cheat in a sandbox game wouldn’t be too bad, there’s a whole PvP game mode (hourglass battles), PvP is encouraged in general, and there’s also… [Continue Reading]

The Timeless Travels Research Was Okay I Guess

With recent seasons, we’ve had seasonal research to go alongside them, and this season has been no different. Timeless Travels is a 14 stage special research that somewhat follows along with the season, with a handful of gaps in between. Was it worth it? Kinda. Unfortunately, Timeless Travels didn’t start off well. While catching 15 different species of Pokemon isn’t too hard, and step 1 does reward 3 charge and fast TMs, step two jumps straight into everyone’s favourite sort of task. And by favourite, I mean least favourite. While the “do X 7 days in a row” task these… [Continue Reading]

The Terror That Is Shadow Kyogre

Generally, Team Rocket bosses are pretty easy. Even with this season’s Team Rocket grunts having way more Pokemon than they used to, as long as you have Pokemon that counter their types, most Grunts are easily defeated. There’s even a new feature where the game will show you what types are super effective against whatever grunt it is you are trying to fight. Heck, for most grunts, you can just take a Pokemon with a spammy move like Lucario with Power Up Punch or Melmetal with Rock Slide and just spam charge attacks while the enemy can’t fight back. Team… [Continue Reading]

On Maining The Most-Used Warframe

With 2023’s Warframe stats coming out during the last Dev Stream, it turns out, when you combine Primed Warframes and normal Warframes, Volt is the most-used Warframe. The stats can be seen here, and show Warframe usage based on all Mastery Ranks and over different ranks. At 7% usage (4% for Volt Prime and 3% for normal Volt), Volt edges out the starter frame and poster boy Excalibur, in spite of the fact that you get Excalibur Umbra at max rank for doing a rather simple story quest. At the same time, when looking at individual frames, there are only… [Continue Reading]
