Done with Duviri

I don’t know why, but Duviri doesn’t sit right with me. It feels weirdly disconnected. And I feel like I’m done with it. I don’t want to do anything Duviri-related any more. It’s cool and all, but I really just don’t enjoy it. A lot of what I don’t enjoy comes from the combat. I very much dislike the melee combat. It feels like an attempt to try a vaguely Dark Souls-like sort of combat but it feels disjointed, and there’s simply too much to do. You generally have too many enemies coming at you at once, so you don’t… [Continue Reading]

Drifter on the Circuit

So, a few times now, I’ve ended up stuck as Drifter on the Circuit. It’s not particularly fun though. In fact, it’s the opposite of fun. I hate it. And it’s not even how you’re supposed to play the Circuit. Unfortunately, if you don’t load in fast enough, you end up playing as Drifter, having not chosen a weapon or even a Warframe. For reasons unknown, instead of just spawning you in with random gear (or the first option on all weapons and Warframes), you just spawn in as Drifter. The Circuit is a place designed for Warframes, with their… [Continue Reading]

Something Needs To Be Done About Host Migration

The other day, I lost 45 minutes of Steel Path Circuit progress, due to a random host migration. I’ve got no idea what happened, because I was in a call with some friends, yet there I was, no longer with my squad. After a lot of waiting, I was taken back to my ship, with no option to rejoin my squad or anything. I didn’t even get a Mission Complete or Mission Failed screen. I got nothing. Frankly, I was pretty pissed off. My relationship with Warframe has been stretched as of late, and after losing all that progress, I… [Continue Reading]

My Gripes with Duviri

Lately, I’ve had a lot of problems and bugs with the new Duviri update, and it’s starting to depress me. For reasons unknown, everything has been running weirdly in Warframe ever since this update hit. Things are taking a while to load and host migrations are everywhere. Just the other day, I lost 45 minutes worth of Steel Path Circuit, and that REALLY pissed me off. But frankly this update has mostly been a mess. And I have quite a few gripes about it. The biggest problem with it all are long loading screens. Not everyone is using an SSD,… [Continue Reading]

Kaithes are Cool

Every open world in Warframe has its own type of vehicle, a way of getting around these larger landscapes. Cetus has stolen Dargyns and Archwing, The Orb Vallis has K-Drives and Deimos has K-Drives in the form of massive dragonflies. Technically Necramechs too, but they are not that fast, they’re massive, slow powerhouses. Duviri on the other hand has horses. And these horses are pretty cool. Kaithes are the way everyone gets around on Duviri, aside from walking around on foot, or being randomly teleported into combat. If you wander around Duviri, you can occasionally see stables for Kaithes. Kaithes… [Continue Reading]

In Hindsight, Duviri Is Pretty Empty

The Duviri Paradox took ages to be released. It was originally teased at the end of the same Tennocon that teased Fortuna and Railjack, both of which came out years ago. Since then, we’ve had the New War, which somewhat concludes the Lotus’s story line, as well as lots of little bits and pieces here and there. We’ve waited a long time to actually experience Duviri in its entirety. Yet, after all this time, it all feels very… empty. There’s not that much to do. I mean, yeah, there are things to do. We got a new open world, we… [Continue Reading]

My Favourite Decree Combinations so far

While you normally have the choice to use whatever you want in the rest of the Origin system, in Duviri, your loadout is mostly decided by luck. Out of the hundreds of options you have, it’s highly likely that you will get a weapon or Warframe that you haven’t really used before. To somewhat counteract this randomness, we have Decrees, which give you specific boosts to both Drifter and your Warframe. These Decrees build up over time, and can make you very powerful. Here are some Decree combinations that I really enjoy. They’re not particularly powerful, but I like having… [Continue Reading]

Where are all the new enemies?

Duviri is a big place. It’s so big that new players are immediately given a Kaithe that can fly them around. In other open worlds, you either have Archwing or K-Drives, and out of them, while you do get the K-Drive in the Vox Solaris quest, you can’t fly with it. Kaithes will fly almost straight away, and doing so is good. Duviri though is also kinda empty, with a lot of gaps between islands. So you’d think that we’d fill these big areas with plenty of baddies, right? Well, uh, not really. Seems that there’s not really many enemies… [Continue Reading]

The Circuit – Complete Randomness

One of the better things about the Duviri paradox is that it’s not all Drifter combat. In fact, there is an entire Duviri game mode that’s for Warframes only. The catch? Everything is random. Pretty much everything. To start the Circuit, you end up in Teshin’s cave with a bunch of options. You get three randomly chosen Warframes, two randomly chosen primaries, secondaries and melee weapons and that’s it. You’re not allowed companions, but your random choices can be any item in the game, even if you don’t have it. If you have a Prime version of something, that takes… [Continue Reading]
