On Ammo Nerfs

So, part of the Veilbreaker update came with some form of balancing. For a while now, explosive weapons have dominated throughout all areas of Warframe’s PvE content, and people were getting tired of it. I can understand why, because no one likes running after someone just picking up loot. However, rather than just nerfing everything into the ground, we ended up with, well, ammo. Both in magazine sizes and how much ammo we can hold.  It’s quite interesting. Only two types of ammo. We used to have loads of types of ammo. Ammo for most weapon types, funnily enough. But… [Continue Reading]

IGNIS WRAITHS FOR EVERYONE!

In what felt like a decade ago, I spent two and a half hours doing a Defection mission with my then rather busy little clan. Back then, I was a newbie, and my job was to play Trinity and spam healing. Otherwise the rest of the group and the Grineer defectors we were saving would all die. The Pacifism Defect was very tough, and pretty much every player in the clan pulled their own weight. The Tenno of Anarchy managed to reach the top 10% of clans, and we were rewarded with the Ignis Wraith blueprint, added directly to our… [Continue Reading]

On No Longer Worrying About Balance

Back when Deimos first cane out, the infested room in the back of our ships was reworked. After obtaining a module from Son, one of the Entrati family on Deimos, we could rework the fleshy infested space into a way to, well, change things. By sacrificing a Warframe to the Helminth, we could take one of that Warframe’s abilities, then put it on another Warframe. The Helminth system ended up proving to be be quite popular. While it is a pain having to re-farm for Warframes we already had or needed to subsume, we gained the ability to be quite… [Continue Reading]

Do You Remember When Nightwave had Story?

Does anyone remember when Nightwave first came out? We got a little diorama where we see the big bad wolf escaping from prison, setting up the premise of a story? I’ll be honest, I’d not be surprised if you didn’t remember, because Series 1, the Wolf of Saturn Six, came out in early 2019. A good three years ago. Since then, we’ve had two other stories and… that’s kinda it. Since Glassmaker ended in January of 2021, it’s been nothing but intermissions. Let’s quickly recap on these tales. So yeah, I don’t blame you for forgetting the old stories. They… [Continue Reading]

Bring Back Fortuna 69, the Nicest Place in Warframe

It turns out, when you stop playing Warframe for a bit, you miss out on a few things. But for me, I missed out on something not so nice. It turns out, three months ago, the Fortuna 69 had disappeared! For those of you who don’t remember, Fortuna 69 is an instance that had been kept up and alive while all other Fortuna instances (aside from 1) faded away. Fortuna 69 was kept open by the community, with all sorts of people visiting and AFKing within the instance, stopping it from shutting down and closing. With a team of Tenno… [Continue Reading]

The Problem of Boom-Kong and High Explosives

Ever since self-damage was removed from explosive weapons, these explosive weapons have rocketed in popularity. But are these weapons too good or powerful? Some people think so, others don’t. As for me, I am someone in the middle. So let’s have a nice, calm conversation about explosives. And a familiar monkey friend. AoE weapons are very strong Warframe is a horde shooter. You have to kill a lot of enemies to get anywhere in this game, whether it’s a simple rescue mission or an hours-long survival. And rather than killing enemies one at a time, it’s much more efficient to… [Continue Reading]

Animal Instinct – A Valuable Mod

There are many, many mods in Warframe. Mods for Warframes, mods for weapons, mods for your companions. Including cats and dogs. I don’t know where we store the mods we equip on our living companions, but they can use them nonetheless. However, many mods are also kinda useless. They’re either niche or just impractical. And because there is limited space, some mods have to be left out. Today, I want to talk about the one mod I 100% can’t leave out from my companions’ mods. A required mods for pets Animal Instinct is a Nightmare mod, obtainable from high level… [Continue Reading]

Finally Burnt Out on Warframe

According to Steam, I have over 4000 hours in Warframe. I’m a Legendary Rank 1 Tenno, and among the earliest people to reach Mastery Rank 30. Up until Angels of the Zariman, I had managed to acquire pretty much every weapon in Warframe. I even went and bought the MR30 real life pin badge, because I could and because it looked cool. However, I haven’t properly played Warframe in about a month and a half. It seems that, finally, after 4000 hours, I’m finally burnt out from my space ninja game. But why though? Why am I burnt out? Well,… [Continue Reading]

On Steve, Soulframe, Warframe and New Ambitions

At the end of Tennocon 2022, we got a reveal of a brand new game, one that is now in development. Soulframe is going to be a brand new game, leaning much further towards fantasy over science fiction. Digital Extremes are now making two games instead of just one, which means that some people are going to move towards Soulframe. Most notably, the biggest person moving to the new Soulframe project is Steve Sinclair, the creative director of Warframe. You know, the guy who has led Warframe through thick and thin, all the way back to Warframe’s humble beginning as… [Continue Reading]

My Very Early Thoughts on Soulframe

So it looks like Digital Extremes are making another game. At Tennocon 2022, a brand new game, built on the same engine as Warframe, was released at the end of the show. Dubbed Soulframe, while it had the same artistic style, what little we saw definitely set it apart from Warframe. This is high fantasy, a stark contrast to Warframe’s high sci-fi. And what we’ve seen so far as been… interesting. Curious even. But also rather vague. In the trailer, we see a new land, some new people and a lot of fog. There’s story in there somewhere, hidden behind… [Continue Reading]
