On Silly New Weapon Skins

Weapon skins are kinda weird in Warframe. They often come in several forms. There are weapon skins that only change the texture of the weapon, similar to warpaints in Team Fortress 2. But there are also complete weapon skins that change the whole model into something else. A lot of weapon skins, mainly melee ones, are sold via Tennogen and can only be bought with real money. However there are plenty of other skins that can be bought for Platinum. Many deluxe Warframe skins come in bundles that contain unique weapon skins as well. But for this Nightwave episode (yet… [Continue Reading]

These New Warframe Updates are Pretty Neat

The other day, I somehow spent well over four hours playing Warframe and its latest update, Citrine’s Last Wish. I was playing the new Mirror Defense mode, farming for both the new Warframe and her weapons, as well as a currency of gems, to buy some miscellaneous bits and pieces from Otak’s new shop. This update, Citrine’s Last Wish, is somewhat simple. It’s not a huge update, just a little update, mostly to keep us occupied while we wait for the Duriviri Paradox. But the update was also plenty good. We got a new Warframe, a little bit of fluffy… [Continue Reading]

I Miss Fortuna 69

In Warframe, we have relays and areas where Tenno can congregate and talk to each other. These hubs are entirely peaceful, with no guns allowed, and they generally house a bunch of NPCs which have things for us to buy. The first hub area you go to is either Larunda on Mercury, or Cetus on Earth, depending on which way you go. Then there’s places like the Orcus relay, the Zariman or Tenno Dojos which require a bit more work to access. Either way, these places are one of the few peaceful places in Warframe, and you’ll always see a… [Continue Reading]

Mirror Defense Is Way Better Than Normal Defense

I’ve never really liked defense missions in Warframe. They are slow and tedious and always prone to breaking due to having to make sure everything is dead. The main reason I play defense missions is either me starting the day doing the defense mission Seimeni on Ceres, or because it’s in the current sortie or Archon hunt. There are two basic forms of defense and both of them are boring. The first is protecting a static object, generally some sort of metal pod with an unconscious person inside it. The second involves protecting an NPC, who will always try and… [Continue Reading]

On Archon Hunts and Shards

Back in the New War, we fought some boss enemies known as Archons. They were weird amalgams between Warframe and Sentient, with a massive crystal sticking out of their bodies. After each battle, we’d rip out that Archon Shard and give it to Natah to help her heal. There were three bosses, two fought as the Drifter and one fought by our Warframes. After the New War, it was believed that the Archons were dead. Well, turns out they’re not dead. Someone by the name of Pazuul has shoved new shards into these Archons and brought them back to life.… [Continue Reading]

That Weird Loading Screen Pose in Warframe

Something has been bothering me, ever since I got back into Warframe. Part of the reason I stopped playing was because the game just wouldn’t load into missions. But now I am actually able to do missions and all that, I’m reminded of the end of mission loading screen. There’s something wrong with it, and I very much dislike it. It’s an awkward pose I don’t know what this pose is supposed to be. It’s kinda like an action pose, but my Warframe (Styanax in this case) is all hunched over. He doesn’t look relaxed at all, despite the mission… [Continue Reading]

Styanax and A Hint of Nostalgia

Styanax is the 50th Warframe, and, as part of the 50th Warframe celebration, was given out for free, meaning a lot of people already own him. If you missed the celebration, then Styanax’s components are sold by Chipper, in Karl’s camp. Styanax’s design resembles that of ancient Spartans, carrying a shield and spear. And personally, I think he’s quite an interesting, yet somewhat simple, Warframe. I’m also pretty amazed that we’re at 50 Warframes now. Well, 51 at the time of writing. He’s cool. The 50th Warframe is a pretty neat one. Its abilities involve throwing spears, throwing shields and… [Continue Reading]

Oh Bullet Jumping, How Much I’ve Missed You

I’ve recently gotten back into Warframe, and I’ve been having fun. Even if Lua’s Prey was a weak update, it’s been nice just doing missions and Nightwave. But what really makes me feel at home in Warframe is the mobility. I have really, really missed how you move around in Warframe. Seriously, Warframe’s parkour is pretty damn cool. Most games will just go with a single jump, maybe a double jump. Warframe has both, AND the bullet jump, a magical spiral through the air in whatever direction you are facing. With a series of slides and bullet jumps, leaping past… [Continue Reading]

Warframe Now Has Crossplay!

You heard that, Warframe now has Crossplay across their four platforms. People on PC, Playstation, Xbox AND Switch can all play Warframe together! While there were early tests with PC and Xbox originally, with the Lua’s Prey update, Playstation and the Nintendo Switch have joined the fold, and now we’re all one big, happy family. What amazes me is how well it all came together. Discussions about Crossplay were always rather unwilling to have any time frames, but suddenly, it all just seemed to work. In the chat channels, people could be seen talking all in one channel, having full… [Continue Reading]

Duviri Delays

Unfortunately, in Devstream 165, it was announced that the Duviri Paradox, the next massive story quest, is going to be delayed until 2023. For a lot of people, this is a major disappointment. Especially since, during Tennocon, we were told that the Duviri Paradox would be coming this year. As for me, I really don’t see this as a bad thing. After all, the Duviri Paradox has a lot to unpack, and a completely different modding system. Warframe is a buggy game In fact, Warframe has always been a buggy game. It can break in a myriad of ways. Even… [Continue Reading]
