Nightwave Season 3 Is Basically Already Finished

As of this week, if you have done every single Nightwave task so far, you’ve probably reached level 30. If you have done most of them and skipped a few dailies, then level 30 should be available next week. It’s been, what, five weeks? And Nightwave Season 3 is basically already finished if you play regularly. So, how was it? Meh. Overall, I’d give this season a solid meh/10. It’s nice that we got enemies to farm extra standing from right off the bat, but, if I’m truly honest, this might as well been more of Nightwave Intermission 2. There… [Continue Reading]

The New Corpus Ship Tileset

The biggest part of the Deadlock Protocol update was a complete remodeling of the Corpus ship tileset. Corpus ships are the oldest maps in the game, to the point that literally every mission was originally on a Corpus ship. Even Grineer missions. Clearly, something so obviously old needed a do-over. So the Corpus tileset was remastered completely and utterly, while also providing more of a look into Corpus lore. And, of course, being a new, shiny thing, I have a lot of comments about it. Speaking of which, it’s all very shiny. Almost… too shiny. Very, very grandiose. These ships… [Continue Reading]

A Ramble About Animation Sets – Which Animation Sets are Good or Bad

Animation sets are an interesting little idea. Each frame has their own personality, their own way that they stand. While the way a frame holds a weapon or idles is simple, it does make every frame more unique. We always get two: an agile and a noble animation set. And, over time, these animation sets have become more fancy. But the more interesting thing is that you can purchase these. You can buy a set and apply it on any frame you like. Of course, some of these are more more popular than others. And, of course, I have a… [Continue Reading]

The Ability To Rewind Time For Yourself Yet You Don’t Need It

Protea exploded into existence in the Deadlock Protocol, apparently created especially for Parvos Granum, the founder of the Corpus. That sentence becomes more and more worrying when you consider that Parvos spent a lot of time with Protea, made Specters out of her and the fact that she can manipulate time. But how is Protea? Is she any good? The farm is easy, thankfully! For once, a Warframe is actually somewhat easy to farm. You get her blueprint from the Deadlock Protocol quest. Meanwhile, her component blueprints are rewards from the Granum Void. Each part has an 11% drop chance,… [Continue Reading]

On Suddenly Not Caring About This Murder Mystery

At the time of writing, I am at rank 26 of Nightwave. I just got my Umbral Forma which I will proceed to not use. Before that, I got my Warframe slot, which I used for Protea. The Nightwave tasks haven’t been too bad, aside from the headache caused by capturing a Hydralyst. But what about the whole murder mystery thing? I just don’t care. Well, that’s not 100% true. I do care a little bit. In fact, the fact that I manage to catch these early on has gotten us some nice views over on the SPUF of Legend.… [Continue Reading]

MR29

Mastery Rank 29 became available for all players alongside the Deadlock Protocol. For ages, really, since the Railjack update, most players couldn’t reach MR29. The reason was simple: only Founding players had enough items to reach the amount of mastery needed for MR29. Everyone else was left with a 6,000 standing gap between MR28 and MR29, with no items to master. The Deadlock Protocol fixed that. We actually got a pretty good amount of mastery with this update. 6,000 for Protea herself, 6,000 for a MOA and 15,000 for assorted weapons. But really, to reach MR29, we only needed 6,000… [Continue Reading]

The New Jackal Boss Fight Is Boring

As part of the Corpus remaster, we got an unexpected boss rework. While you’d expect that the Sergeant, bless his heart, would be the target, you’d be wrong. In fact, our boss remaster goes to the Jackal. The Jackal was always a simple boss fight. It consisted of shooting the Jackal and not getting blown up by rockets. Since it was the first boss fight in the game after Captain Vor, it was worth redoing, right? Eh, I dunno. The new fight is just as simple. Okay, so, after a fancy cinematic in which a small MOA needlessly dies, you’re… [Continue Reading]

Doing Lich Missions With An Under-Leveled Warframe

For reasons unknown, I have decided to start forma-ing my original Volt. The one I started the game with. Despite being inches away from Mastery Rank 29, I still have him. Even though I have a perfectly serviceable Volt Prime. That little Volt got me through the early game, so I feel like I want to give something back to him. By forma-ing him to perfection. But because I’m stubborn, I didn’t want to just level up Volt on Hydron or Elite Sanctuary Onslaught. I just decided to take him on my day to day business. So I decided to… [Continue Reading]

The Deadlock Protocol Quest Is Pretty Fun

We haven’t had a decent Warframe quest in ages. The last ones we got were for Revenant and Excalibur Umbra, but they weren’t exactly… amazing, fun Warframe quests. Excalibur Umbra in the Sacrifice is more of a continuation of the War Within and involves a lot of the Operator. Revenant’s quest is barely a quest. But The Deadlock Protocol feels like a return to the old Warframe quest days, with the polish of modern, shiny Warframe. The Deadlock Protocol is Sands of Inaros, but for the modern era. It’s also a pretty fun quest. Also, spoilers ahead! Go play the… [Continue Reading]

What if I Had Picked Excalibur or Mag as my Starter Frame?

We all know me as that annoyingly yellow Volt. Half the pictures of Warframe include a very specific Volt Prime with yellow as its main colour and blue metallic bits. I was actually lucky and was mostly given Volt Prime early on, back when he was a cheap frame. But even now, I still use both Volt Prime and normal Volt. Somehow, just somehow, Volt does everything I want to do in a single Warframe. But what if I had picked a different starter frame? Would I still be here today? Let’s look at both alternatives, one at a time.… [Continue Reading]
