The Problem of Boom-Kong and High Explosives

Ever since self-damage was removed from explosive weapons, these explosive weapons have rocketed in popularity. But are these weapons too good or powerful? Some people think so, others don’t. As for me, I am someone in the middle. So let’s have a nice, calm conversation about explosives. And a familiar monkey friend. AoE weapons are very strong Warframe is a horde shooter. You have to kill a lot of enemies to get anywhere in this game, whether it’s a simple rescue mission or an hours-long survival. And rather than killing enemies one at a time, it’s much more efficient to… [Continue Reading]

Self Damage Is No More

Self Damage no longer exists in Warframe, at least when it comes to explosive weapons. No longer can you blow yourself up while using an explosive weapon. You don’t have to play Inaros or Wukong to use the Kuva Bramma. Squishy frames no longer instantly die from misfiring alternate-fire modes like the Corinth. And I no longer have to scoop my Ogris-using friend off the floor every other mission! Actually, I take that back, self-damage still exists in some exceptions. For example, the Nightwatch Napalm mod for the Ogris. But in 99% of cases? Self damage is gone. Self damage… [Continue Reading]

Cautious Shot Is (Currently) A Worthless Mod

Warframe has a huge number of mods. Because of how many mods it has, it’s guaranteed that some Warframe mods will be bad. Some Warframe mods have no practical use despite sounding good on paper. Many Warframe mods have more useful variants or are simply too niche in their usage. In fact, some mods could be usable, if they didn’t cost so much. But there are plenty of mods that have the pretense of being useful when they simply are not. Today, I want to talk about one of these mods. Editor’s note: It turns out self-damage is actually going… [Continue Reading]

Boomkong – The Joy of Wukong and Exploding Bows

I’ve never been a fan of exploding weapons in Warframe. Explosive weaponry is simply too scary for the average Tenno. Because of how much damage explosive weapons do, we blow ourselves up. A lot. To the point that we leave most explosive weapons to one side. In fact, the only really popular explosive weapons were originally weapons like the Tonkor… which had next to no self-damage. Which was removed. The Exceptions to the Rule The Kuva Bramma on the other hand is quite a popular weapon. While it IS a Kuva weapon and requires killing a Lich to obtain, it’s… [Continue Reading]

Bloody Hell, that Sonicor…

You remember when I talked about my most used weapon, the Ignis, then teased about another weapon that might end up replacing it? You know, the picture at the end of the article, with my invisible Loki holding that very weapon? Well this article isn’t about that weapon. This article is about the Sonicor. The Sonicor is amazing. Beyond amazing. Okay, what the fuck IS the Sonicor? I’m not really sure, to be honest. It’s an arm-mounted weapon sort of thing. Definitely Corpus in origin, but I have never really seen any Corpus actually USING the Sonicor*. It attaches to… [Continue Reading]

Tips for Saints Row: The Third

I rarely manage to actually complete games, and I never manage to get 100% completion, but Saints Row: The Third is the closest I’ve got, with a whooping 93% completion. I’ve got all the achievements in Skyrim, but you can’t actually get 100% completion in that game, so there. While I wait for the damn game to load after making the mistake of verifying the integrity of the game cache, here’s a bunch of tips for you. Never use cheats. Cheats have a nasty habit of infecting saves. You use cheats once, that’s it, that save is ruined. Play on… [Continue Reading]

Carpet-bombing with the Iron Bomber

Demoman for the longest time was my least-played class, and for good reason. While classes like Soldier and Heavy do tons of damage even at low skill levels, good luck actually ever hitting anything if you intend to do the same as Demoman. He is an unusual class, with a deceptively high skill ceiling. The days of Left-Click-Right-Click-BOOM are a thing of the past. And since I already play one intense, deceptively hard class that everyone relies on, I never really fancied taking on another. That has changed. I’ve been edging towards playing more Demoman for ages, sick and tired… [Continue Reading]
