Medic’s Fifth Ever Competitive Match – 404 Medic not Found
No, seriously. What just happened? I have no idea. Week 6’s match was absolutely all over the place. I’ve decided, I’m not actually going to attempt to describe it. I don’t think I can. It was mental. Insane. Crazy. I don’t know any more! So instead of trying to make something coherent from that match, I’m just going to go over all the good bits. But first off, self-loathing!
Turns out, I suck at every class but Medic, and I really need to play more Demoman, because sticky bombs and the Pain Train are the best weapons ever. Maybe try out the Loose Cannon and Iron Bomber too, because they look fun. Also, my map awareness is bloody awful. Also, note to self, fix my damn Medic Radar. My biggest issue is that I’m very easily flanked and I get lost, often bee-lining for health kits and/or spawn then dying inches away from them. Once I’m separated from my team, I’m basically fucked. And when your team is super mobile and/or know what they’re doing (unlike me…), I’m doubly fucked.
Anyway, to the match itself. Here’s the short summary, then I’ll get some nice pictures of all the good bits.
First round: We win.
Second round: They win.
Third round: We win.
Fourth round: We win.
Fifth round: We win.
Sixth round: They win.
Seventh round: They win.
Eighth round: They win.
Ninth round: We win via huge amounts of off-classing.
Final score: 5-4 to us.
Now for pictures.
So yeah, that was an insane match. I am definitely the weak link in our team though. I get lost and separated way too easily, my calls are pretty poor (apart from Uber percentages and Uber advantages) and I am incredibly weak to being caught from behind.
Oh well, I’ll learn. Thank you, other team, it was a great match.
