Prisma Machete

A couple of weeks ago, I had an idea for an article, but it was very late. Rather than turning on my computer and immediately writing the idea down, I ended up with this. An article titled “Prisma Machete”. Unfortunately though, I didn’t write anything else down. It was a blank slate, an empty canvas, for me to spew words onto in the future. Returning to the present, I am struggling to think of things to write about. After all, both Pokemon GO and Warframe had their big, yearly events last week. But the title of this article has nothing… [Continue Reading]

GO Fest 2021 Day 2 – Raids, But Not The Ones We Wanted

For the second day of GO Fest 2021, there was a very obvious theme. A mysterious Pokemon appeared in the Pokemon GO loading screen, and mysterious portals could be seen floating above us. Rather worryingly, the sky was not a standard blue, but dark, purple and ominous. While Day 1 may have just been a bunch of biomes, Day 2 was all about raids. Lots and lots of raids. Actually, too many raids. We had constant raids pretty much all day. Five minute egg timers, and 30 minutes to do raids after they hatch. During this time though, we had… [Continue Reading]

A Nice, Calm First Day of GO Fest

I won’t lie, I’ve been looking forward to GO Fest for a while. For the small price of €5, I can catch a ton of Pokemon and get early access to a new Mythical. Last year’s GO Fest was rather hectic, so was the Kanto festival earlier this year. This year’s GO Fest, at least the first day, was much calmer. Four biomes, varying spawns Just like previous GO Fest expeditions, the 2021 GO Fest was split into four biomes of an hour each. Last year, they were kinda based on emotions, because it was about Jirachi. However, despite this… [Continue Reading]

A Scramble and a New War for Tennocon 2021

On July 17th, we got to see Tennocon 2021. And boy was it… weird. I stayed up until late to watch the show and hopefully get excited. But did I get excited? I’m… not really sure. Normally, a Tennocon event is there to hype up cool, upcoming events and gameplay. TennoLive 2021 did just that, but only for the New War. The New War however has kinda been teased for years. To hype us up, after some quick questions and answers, we got to see a live demo of the beginning of the New War. We got a handful of… [Continue Reading]

The New Graphics in Pokemon GO are Pretty Neat

Out of the blue, Pokemon GO got a visual update. A bunch of graphics were added, sprucing up the game for its 5th anniversary. While the changes are mostly related to gyms, there’s a few nice touches here and there. Sunsets and Gyms First off, the gyms are pretty frickng sweet. They actually look a bit more like arenas filled with people. Of course, gyms aren’t completely to scale, but the fancier graphics really do make raids feel less, well, lame. The gym battles and raids seem more action-packed, as well as all-round better to look at. The nicer thing… [Continue Reading]

Yeah, Really? Yareli

As part of my rush to reach Legendary One, I found myself racing to finish Yareli. As a Warframe, she’s worth 6000 mastery, which is quite a lot. However, I basically went in blind when it came to what Yareli actually does. I essentially believed that Yareli had to be good, or at least middling. After all, her quest had been awful. Surely they wouldn’t make the Warframe awful too? Her abilities feel lackluster. I don’t know why, but Yareli kinda doesn’t seem to do much. She has two crowd control abilities, a ring of slashing damage and her own… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon You Should Never Use in Raids

The idea of Raids in Pokemon GO is pretty damn simple. You pick a team of Pokemon that counter the raid boss, then you tap your screen until it’s dead. Sure, there’s some nuance to be had. There are definitely Pokemon that do better. I also didn’t bother mention dodging, because that’s finicky at best. However, there are definitely Pokemon you shouldn’t use in raids, just because, well, they don’t do much. While you can get away with using an evolved Pokemon with the right stats, it’s important to try and get a hold of some decent raid Pokemon. Not… [Continue Reading]

A Quick look at Sisters of Parvos

I’m going to be honest here. Somehow, I don’t really understand the Sisters of Parvos. The whole system is pretty much identical to Kuva Liches. But something feels a bit off about them. For some reason, they feel both better and worse off than Kuva Liches. Gameplay-wise, fighting a Sister is simple. It is basically the same as fighting a Kuva Lich. You follow the same exact steps. First, you stab things, then you try and figure out the random combination. Once you successfully stab them, you do a Railjack mission to finish them off. Except, in the case of… [Continue Reading]

A Brief Look at how my Character’s Look Influences how I Enjoy Destiny 2

Try as I might, I’ve always struggled with getting into Destiny 2. On the surface, I think the game is great, but I never find myself able to play for very long. The only times I DO play lots of Destiny 2 is when I am playing with friends. Mostly because I’m not very good at it. But one of the major issues I had was that my character looked, well, kinda crap. The reason why I looked like crap was quite simple. I was constantly cycling out better gear. In trying to reach the same level as everyone else,… [Continue Reading]

Lech Kril

A while back, with the Corpus ship rework, the Jackal got a makeover. Instead of just shooting it in various knees, you need to do Parazon shenanigans. Overall, it’s a slightly better fight, but it’s not one you can speed-run. And, in all honestly, it sets people up for bigger expectations. Because not every boss is is made equal, and some are more of a pain than others. However, some boss fights are just stupidly old. And some bosses are just bad. Somehow though, these bosses all pale in comparison to Lech Krill, the assassination mission on Mars. An ancient… [Continue Reading]
