Medic Plays Pokemon Violet – Part 6

I’ve kinda been ignoring Team Star for a bit. They’re basically a bunch of troublemakers that keep on skipping past. However, I decided to do one Team Star base to see what it’s like.

It’s, well, weird.

So everything stars off as pretty normal. I go up to the gate and ask if I can come in. One of the grunts fights me with a Murkrow, then runs inside. The other grunt follows, informing everyone that I am here. So I walk into the place and it’s nothing special, just some stages and stuff. The challenge here is to defeat 30 Pokemon in 10 minutes, using my first three Pokemon. For me, that is Lucario, Flaffle the Houndour and Ringo the Weed Cat.

I’m also followed in by a guy I am 99% sure is the headmaster at the academy, and he offers healing should I need it. I really don’t need it though, since most of the enemy Pokemon are 1. low level and 2. weak to fighting and fire. It takes me about 2 minutes to defeat all 30 Pokemon, and a lot of that time was spent finding my next victims. Lucario and Flaffle go ham on the enemies, while Ringo takes a few scratches.

Once the 30 Pokemon are murdered, the boss comes along on a massive truck thing, a mixture of wheels, speakers and bright lights. Now, I thought I’d be having an actual Pokemon fight, but after I beat the boss’s first Pokemon, a Pawniard, it turns out that… the truck is a Pokemon too… And it’s a dark type, making it weak to my Pokemon. I think.

Anyway I win with ease, and we get a… flashback?

Yep, it’s flashback time again! In this one, the five bosses of Team Star are talking about rules and what their big boss said and how the guy I just beat was once president of the Uva Academy. Dark Star Guy used to make dumb rules but now he has mellowed out a bit. So he’s asked to make some rules for Team Star and everyone agrees.

Back to reality and the boss gives me his badge, saying that, because he lost, he can’t be a boss of Team Star any more. At the same time, Totally-Not-The-Head-Master comes along and asks if they might consider attending school again. I don’t know if this is some sort of reformation or something but that’s what the not-head-master offers.

As I leave the base, I am called by Cassiopeia, and she gives me 5000 LP. Which isn’t bad. Then again, the grunt at the front gates gave me $990 for beating her. She also wants to reward me with a bunch of TM components, and has someone to deliver them for me; turns out, it’s the kid with the cool backpack that we helped on our first day of school. Her name is Penny. She seems sweet.

With the boss beaten and the Team Star camp mostly dismantled, I decide to have a look, but there’s nothing there. However, I kill one Pokemon just outside of the gates and…

HOUNDOUR IS EVOLVING!

HOUNDOUR!!!
HOUNDOOM!!!

Yay, my Houndour is now a Houndoom! And we’re all ready to fight. Next up, we’ll try and do another gym or something.
