My Thoughts on Dynamaxing

I never really got around to trying Mega Evolutions and Z-Moves. As far as I was always concerned, Z-Moves seemed boring to me, while Mega Evolutions looked fun and stupidly powerful. Then we have Dynamax, which, when I originally first saw it, looked like Mega Evolutions but worse. Your Pokemon gets all big, grows extra features and gets some cool moves in the process. The whole system is introduced in the first cutscene of the game, by a Gigantamax Charizard with wings made of fire. If you had shown me a picture of either of Charizard’s Mega forms alongside its… [Continue Reading]

The Worst Research Tasks in Pokemon GO

Research tasks in Pokemon GO are quite simple. You spin a Pokestop, you get given a task and you do that task for a reward. Rewards can be almost anything, from Pokemon encounters to balls and berries, and, after 7 days of doing tasks, you can get a cool research reward from Professor Willow or the strange robot girl who has replaced him. But not all research tasks are made equal. Some are alright. Some are utterly pointless. And some tasks are not even worth your time at all. Difficulty is all over the place The tasks required can vary… [Continue Reading]

Quake II RTX – Review

Having recently finished Quake’s expansion packs, I was curious to see where id Software went from there. Imagine inventing the FPS genre, codifying it, and then propelling it into the third dimension within a mere 4-year span. Even more impressively, they’ve gone back and updated Doom and Quake to run perfectly on modern systems. At first, I didn’t think they’d given Quake II the same treatment, before remembering an experimental tech demo I encountered at GDC 2019: Quake II RTX is a “remastering” of the original game that ray traces every single asset. Ray tracing is a unique way of… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays A Real Pokemon Game for the First Time – Part 21 – Finale

Hop wants a fight, but I want to rest up and improve my team. After all, I’m still using the same team I used to beat Leon, and half my Pokemon needed a pick-me-up. But now I’ve healed up and switched a few Pokemon around, I’m happy to go. Time to head back to the Slumbering Weald, where Hop has been looking around, playing with his new Legendary buddy. So I head back to the Slumbering Weald and forget that Galarian Weezing hide in the grass around there. Luckily, to save walking through it all, Sonia is waiting for me,… [Continue Reading]

Tennocon 2022 Felt Kinda Rushed

Well, Tennocon has been and gone, and frankly, I feel a tad disappointed. It fall felt kinda rushed and thrown together last minute. But it also felt like I had seen most of this before. It all felt a bit like Tennocon 2021, with honestly not a lot going on. At least we started with a brand new release. Khora Prime has been released and she is utterly beautiful. And, speaking of beautiful, Titania just got a brand new deluxe skin, which looks amazing. To the point that I want to play Titania. There was also some sort of weird… [Continue Reading]

More Adventures on the Stormcloud – Sea of Thieves

It’s funny what some people do for cosmetics. I once spent ages doing a boss fight in Warframe to get Shocking Step, an ephemera. But some cosmetics are insanely out of reach, particularly in the Sea of Thieves. Lately, my adventures in the Sea of Thieves has mostly involved doing Veil missions. If I do enough of them, then I get a cool hat. By enough, I mean like 50 of this mission, which can easily take an hour or so. But alas, Bacxaber and his crew really, really want this hat. And I don’t blame them, it’s a cool… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays A Real Pokemon Game for the First Time – Part 20

So I’m the champion now, and most people recognize me as such. But for reasons I can’t explain, there are these two dorks that are doing stupid shit with Dynamax, trying to prove some bullshit about the two Legendary Pokemon who helped on the Darkest Day. And it all starts when I go and see the grave of said Pokemon. I end up running into Hop, who has the sword relic, while I have my shield relic. We have a quick battle (which Hop loses) but are interrupted by Sonia and two assholes. Seriously, these guys are massive twunts. They… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays A Real Pokemon Game for the First Time – Part 19

It’s finally happening. I’m finally, finally going to face Leon. And blimey, the crowd is intense. This is going to be one hell of a fight. Especially since I have no idea what team Leon has built for me to fight against. I’m actually kinda nervous. After Leon spews out a powerful (but silent) speech about how amazing this challenge is, he finally starts the battle, summoning his first Pokemon, Aegislash. I do the same, summoning my Salazzle, Charm. Charm swiftly beats Aegislash after its second King’s Shield fails, succumbing to Flamethrower and dying in one hit. Leon’s next Pokemon… [Continue Reading]

A Quick Unboxing Article

For most of my life, getting anything via the post is a long, slow, tedious process. Shipping things to Aphrodite’s Island of Love is tricky because, quite obviously, Cyprus is an island. But on top of that, mail here is just slow all round. It’s very easy for things to get delayed, but eventually, the post always comes. That’s why I rarely order things online, I don’t want to be waiting forever for whatever it is I order. However, I have been known to purchase the occasional cool thing. Back in March and April though, Warframe was celebrating its anniversary,… [Continue Reading]

Imagining Myself as a Pokemon Gym Leader

Having been working my way through Pokemon Shield, I’ve come to realize that there are a lot more Pokemon I both do and don’t like. From complete unknowns (and unowns) to Pokemon I now like more than ever before, I am finding that my table of favourite Pokemon has definitely been shaken up. And when it comes to talking to others about it, it’s insanely hard to pick even a number 1 now. However, we can spend all day discussing favourites when instead we can look at things in a more practical way. Why not put yourself in the shoes… [Continue Reading]
