Five Reasons Why You Should be doing Legends of the Veil

Sailing on Ghostly Seas

The Legend of the Veil is a voyage you can pick up from the Athena’s Fortune Hideout, for Pirate Legends only*. In it, you speak to the Pirate Lord and he bumbles on about how powerful this artifact is and that he’s gone and lost it. Your crew has to find three small, green Veil Stones in order to reactivate the Veil of the Ancients. Apparently, the Veil of the Ancients can open and close portals between the Sea of Thieves and the Sea of the Damned, as well as breaking the barriers between the two worlds. *Just the person… [Continue Reading]

My Limited Thoughts on Captaincy in the Sea of Thieves

The Daily SPUF, a small sloop

Captaincy is one of the bigger updates that Sea of Thieves has had in a while, while also being one of the oldest updates ever promised. The Captaincy update was supposed to be the first major update for Sea of Thieves, but for some reason never came out. Years later and here Captaincy is, with a bunch of pretty nice stuff. Your own actual ship The biggest part of the update is the ability to name your ship. It’s one of the first things you do when you become a captain. After all, this IS your own, personal ship. And… [Continue Reading]

Reapers, Glitterbeards and Forts – More Adventures on the Stormcloud

Reapers Hideout

It’s always fun being on a big ship with plenty of cannons. 4-player Galleons are big and tanky and somewhat threatening, especially to other ships. In this session though, the plan wasn’t to reap and tear. Instead, we were playing as emissaries for the Gold Hoarders, in order to help me reach level 50 and become a Pirate Legend. Luckily this wasn’t too hard to do. We ended up doing some vaults… well, the same vault 3 times, making lots of gold. As we sailed though, we did meet a very aggressive sloop. Luckily they were no threat to us.… [Continue Reading]

On Becoming A Pirate Legend

A hiden area for Pirate Legends

Sea of Thieves doesn’t really have much of an obvious end goal. There is a LOT to unlock, but as a final goal, it’s mostly just getting huge amounts of money and infamy. That and hunting down emissaries to kill them. However, before we talk about end game stuff, there’s a specific rank that you need to acquire, before you do anything too interesting. I’m talking about being a Pirate Legend, and finding myself deeper inside SoT lore. When I first started playing Sea of Thieves, I thought it’d take a while to become a Pirate Legend. After all, with… [Continue Reading]

A Thunderbirds Board Game

Thunderbirds!

When I was a rather small kid, one of the TV shows we used to watch was Thunderbirds. This show was made using various puppets, rather than being animated as a normal cartoon. The premise of Thunderbirds was quite simple. A family called the Tracies ran International Rescue, and would go on adventures. There were six Tracies, the dad and five sons, all of whom had some pretty fucking cool aircraft, as well as a satellite in space, ran by the eldest kid, John Tracy. Everything in this show was animated with puppets and physical models, which were all pretty… [Continue Reading]

Lures in Pokemon GO Make No Sense

Medic and his Giratina

During the last Community Day with Zigzagoon, my brother and I put down some lures, in the hopes of producing more spawns. We were chilling out in an ice cream place at the time, and the three closest Pokestops were all lured. Because it was a Community Day, those lures would all last 3 hours each, sticking around for a long time after we finished up and left. As we left though, I looked back at the lured Pokestops and realized that luring those Pokestops made no sense. Most spawns are wasted. The place where we left the lures was… [Continue Reading]

Happy 9th Birthday to the Daily SPUF!

Celebratory explosions for the 3000th article!

As you may have guessed from the title of this article, today is the Daily SPUF’s birthday! Normally, we don’t actually celebrate the Daily SPUF’s age. Instead we generally write about milestones, like the 3000th article. But since this website is now nine years old, we thought we’d celebrate today as well. After all, you can only turn nine years old once. On August 18th, 2013, aabicus posted his first article about the Half-Zatoichi. In it, he explained why he hated this weapon for Soldier and Demoman. Little did aabicus know that he had started sometime great. Over a month… [Continue Reading]

Bring Back Fortuna 69, the Nicest Place in Warframe

Ticker standing in her little shop, selling nice things.

It turns out, when you stop playing Warframe for a bit, you miss out on a few things. But for me, I missed out on something not so nice. It turns out, three months ago, the Fortuna 69 had disappeared! For those of you who don’t remember, Fortuna 69 is an instance that had been kept up and alive while all other Fortuna instances (aside from 1) faded away. Fortuna 69 was kept open by the community, with all sorts of people visiting and AFKing within the instance, stopping it from shutting down and closing. With a team of Tenno… [Continue Reading]

The Problem of Boom-Kong and High Explosives

Wukong and his Celestial Twin

Ever since self-damage was removed from explosive weapons, these explosive weapons have rocketed in popularity. But are these weapons too good or powerful? Some people think so, others don’t. As for me, I am someone in the middle. So let’s have a nice, calm conversation about explosives. And a familiar monkey friend. AoE weapons are very strong Warframe is a horde shooter. You have to kill a lot of enemies to get anywhere in this game, whether it’s a simple rescue mission or an hours-long survival. And rather than killing enemies one at a time, it’s much more efficient to… [Continue Reading]

Animal Instinct – A Valuable Mod

Arkadin the Smeeta Kavat

There are many, many mods in Warframe. Mods for Warframes, mods for weapons, mods for your companions. Including cats and dogs. I don’t know where we store the mods we equip on our living companions, but they can use them nonetheless. However, many mods are also kinda useless. They’re either niche or just impractical. And because there is limited space, some mods have to be left out. Today, I want to talk about the one mod I 100% can’t leave out from my companions’ mods. A required mods for pets Animal Instinct is a Nightmare mod, obtainable from high level… [Continue Reading]
