Fighting the Exploiter Orb

After some scanning and some fudging of numbers and some collecting of diluted thermia from a boring Mobile Defense clone, the Exploiter Orb is now available to fight. By “available to fight”, I mean “available to throw stuff at”. Yep, most of the Exploiter Orb fight consists of you throwing canisters of ‘thermia’ at a massive spider-like robot. The fight starts off with everyone entering the remains of Deck 12. Eudico and Zuud remember what happened and you sort of just wander around until someone pulls a leaver (which costs everyone 1 diluted thermia). You hear a scream and the… [Continue Reading]

Early Thoughts on the Profit-Taker Fight

The second part of the Fortuna update has arrived and it’s a bit of a doozy. Sure, there’s a new Warframe and a new Prime Warframe and some very nice new weapons, but the main theme of the update is the Profit Taker Heist. This is the first of three vaguely raid-like sets of missions, in which you take down a massive spider creature. The first heist involves taking down the mountain-sized Profit Taker Orb, a Corpus creation made out of a mixture of Corpus and Sentient technology. Anyone who knows a little lore about Warframe will know that Sentient… [Continue Reading]

The Trouble With Eidolons

Eidolon hunts are cool. You follow a massive, wailing monster across the Plains, breaking it down bit by bit until it screams, falls silent and rises into the air, subdued by your lures and dragged off into nothingness. It’s really… quite horrific when you think about it, as the Teralyst just wanders around the Plains mourning the loss of its family and doing nothing else until we attack it. Then we capture it using a bunch of horrible Grineer drones and the spirits of their own mini brethren. But the problem is, if you want to kill an Eidolon or… [Continue Reading]

Teralysts, Gantulysts and Hydrolysts, oh my!

The Shrine of the Eidolon update brought with it some new Eidolon related things, as one might expect. Honestly it would be pretty weird for an update named after a thing to not contain said thing. But yes, as well as the Teralyst, you can now fight two new Eidolons, both of which are fucking huge and way bigger than the Teralyst. But at the same time they both kinda just look like the Teralyst with some small changes. If you’re still here, I’ll assume you’ve completed the War Within. Because you need your dumb space kid. Teralysts, Gantulysts, Hydrolysts… [Continue Reading]

Ambulas Reborn – Grinding Giant Robot Emus

On Thursday 4th of May, Digital Extremes released Ambulash Reborn, a new Operation (i.e. mini event) for Warframe. Frohd Bek, one of those annoying Corpus guys who likes to make as much as possible, is funding and prototyping a new super beefed up MOA robot to replace the old Ambulas model manufactured on Venus. This new Ambulas is tied to an Animo system, which allows the giant mechanical emus with laser guns on their faces to adapt to their enemies. Frohd Bek promises plenty of Grofit – growth and profit – to anyone who backs his bad 80’s-advert-styled proposals. Well,… [Continue Reading]
