B4B VS L4D2

So I’ve played a little bit of Back 4 Blood and a little bit of Left 4 Dead 2. Back 4 Blood is a spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series, having similar themes and gameplay. Left 4 Dead 2 is a cult classic and still stands strong to this day. But if you’re new to the four player coop zombie swarm genre of first person shooters, you might find it harder to decide which game you’d want to buy. So here’s a really basic look at both games, and which one is better. Actually I take that back.… [Continue Reading]

I Finally Figured Out Why I Do and Don’t Like Destiny 2

I have a massive love/hate relationship with Destiny 2. It’s a game that I have drifted to and from, right from the start. Okay, sure, I never played Destiny 1. But when the beta came out on PC, aabicus and I played it, doing the one available strike on Nesus. While it was, well, alright, Destiny 2 didn’t really stick to me. In fact, many of the previous articles I have written about Destiny 2 have been somewhat negative. In the mean time, I played other games. Warframe is the big name among them, and had just the right balance… [Continue Reading]

On Hating Other Warframes in Missions

Once upon a time, someone asked me to stop using Speed in a mission. It was a void fissure mission and I’d gotten the fancy void buff on my Warframe, which increased my Power Strength by quite a bit. At the same time I was using my Excessive Speed build which had high power strength. This caused my Speed buff to become a little too strong. So understandably, the other guy didn’t want to be running into walls. They asked politely, I made sure I was out of range and used Speed when I was on my own. No problems,… [Continue Reading]

Killing Floor is Free on Humble Bundle Store Until June 24th

The Co-op scary-mutant-monster-zombie shooting game Killing Floor is currently free on Humble Bundle Store for a limited time – until June 24th! The game is available both to own and as a gift you can email to your friends. It requires having a Humble Bundle website account to access, and the game key is sent to your email address and added to your account. Killing Floor is, at least in my opinion, a cross between… [Continue Reading]

Ambulas Reborn – Grinding Giant Robot Emus

On Thursday 4th of May, Digital Extremes released Ambulash Reborn, a new Operation (i.e. mini event) for Warframe. Frohd Bek, one of those annoying Corpus guys who likes to make as much as possible, is funding and prototyping a new super beefed up MOA robot to replace the old Ambulas model manufactured on Venus. This new Ambulas is tied to an Animo system, which allows the giant mechanical emus with laser guns on their faces to adapt to their enemies. Frohd Bek promises plenty of Grofit – growth and profit – to anyone who backs his bad 80’s-advert-styled proposals. Well,… [Continue Reading]

Playing Dead Island with Siblings

“Medic, play games with us!” my siblings say. I don’t get asked to play games often. Most of the time, it’s to play some party game, like Gangbeasts, or perhaps the Jackbox Party Packs if there happens to be other people around. Occasionally, we’ll play something else, but it’s often brief, or filled with technical issues. Finally, we’ll properly set foot in a game, and maybe we’ll complete the whole thing. I completed Saints Row 3 for a second time with sister LilSkully and completed Borderlands 2 with brother Smeghead. Dead Island is one such game that the three of… [Continue Reading]

Being the Co-Op Player in Saints Row: the Third

Saints Row’s coop is a very, very weird thing. It seems both somewhat sane and completely insane. But mostly completely insane, not because there’s two people causing chaos instead of one, but because of how Saints Row: the Third’s coop works. I’m not sure if Saints Row 2’s coop is the same, but it’s just as weird in Saints Row 4. Since I just finished a bit of coop with aabicus though and it’s fresh in my memory, I’m going to stick to what I know. Let’s start off with an example. Both aabicus and I created a new game… [Continue Reading]

Playing With Other People

It turns out that most of my life, I’ve been a bit of a lone wolf. Yes, I’m a Medic main, but I don’t really play that much with other people, I’m more likely to play a game on my own and maybe invite people round later. It does depend on the game, but games with other people tend to have a lot of different obstacles to jump over, to the point where I just end up playing alone. Getting the timing right is the big one. There’s people I genuinely enjoy playing with, but they’re never online, or one… [Continue Reading]
