Emissary Derelict Assassinate – The New Zealot Boss Fight

Nightwave’s the Emissary has had its story come to an end, with Arlo basically being dead and a new infested cult joining the fray. Arlo was nothing more than a trick to get more people infected and infested and it worked brilliantly. Not only do we now have more Infested running around but now we have new bosses that we need to deal with, spreading their disease in Emissary Derelicts. Because we totally needed more mutagenic hive mind infestations running around. The conclusion to the Emissary was to be expected, but right now I’m pissed off with the new boss… [Continue Reading]

Looking at the Infested Overall as a Faction

The Infested are a weird faction. They are their own distinct faction in Warframe, but in a lot of ways, they’re really not. That sounds like a weird thing to say, but the Infested are largely just an ugly mess in the corner that don’t get much attention. Even with Nightwave right now being somewhat focused on the Infested, especially now that there are Emissary derelicts everywhere, the Infested still don’t really have their own thing. The Infested are made up of a handful of units, mostly consisting of Chargers (infested Grineer), Runners, Leapers and Crawlers (all infested Corpus humans),… [Continue Reading]

Icky Infested Invasions and Other Nightwave Messes

So part 4 of the Emissary, Nightwave’s current episode, just came out and it’s… kinda gross. Of course, there’s been this cult running around, worshiping a kid called Arlo who supposedly has healing hands, and he’s been healing a bunch of people and ended up becoming the head of an infested cult. Of course, because of said cult, there are nasty zealots running around who seem to think that if you don’t join, you should die, and they’re not very nice, especially since they use a lot if infested stuff. And of course, the Infestation is, uh, highly infectious. So… [Continue Reading]

On Finishing Nightwave Season 2

After a bunch of strangely easy tasks for week 6 of Nightwave, I have reached level 30 and obtained all the cool shit, which I immediately started using. Honestly though, this all went by so quickly. It doesn’t feel like week 6 of Nightwave and it doesn’t feel like Season 2 has been around that long! But yep, it’s been six weeks of genuinely quite simple tasks. Nightwave has been really good though. Most of the tasks have been pretty easy and definitely doable. Even the tougher tasks aren’t too bad. A 30 minute survival seems long but is easily… [Continue Reading]

Thoughts on an Infested Open World Area

When you look at the Plains of Eidolon and the Orb Vallis, one can’t help and think “what’s next?” Logically, if you look at what the Plains of Eidolon and the Orb Vallis are themed around, you’d probably think that an Infested-themed open world area would come next. But will it? I’m not so sure. I mean, it makes sense that an Infested open world would come next. After all, we have a Corpus area and a Grineer area, and the Infested are the other major faction. The other factions, the Orokin and the Sentients, tend to command everyone else… [Continue Reading]

Plague Star Has Returned!

From April 5th to April 17th, Plague Star is back, bringing Infested and a massive, hideous lump of cancerous matter to the middle of the Plains of Eidolon. The event is a platform-wide operation, affecting the Plains no matter what if you’re on PC, and is probably coming back to Console versions in 2-3 weeks. The way Plague Star works is pretty much the same as last time. You grab the Infested Catalyst blueprint from your Clan Dojo, you build some and equip them in your gear slot, you accept the bounty from Konzu in Cetus, you head out to… [Continue Reading]

My Little Helminth Charger

So my beloved Volt Prime is infected with a horrible cyst on his neck, picked up from playing with an infected Mesa while killing robotic hyenas for parts of a new character, but it turns out that horrible infectious disease comes in handy for one thing – making a new type of pet. Kinda. What you do is get yourself infected. Then you get yourself a Kubrow egg and an Incubator Power Core. You then drain the cyst into the Kubrow egg which sounds as gross as it… sounds. I only say that because when you select the option to… [Continue Reading]
