What Aftermath?

Yes, I know I’ve been writing a lot about the New War, but there is so much to unpack. After all, it is a long quest that takes at least 4-5 hours to finish. Today’s article though features the aftermath of the New War. Or rather, a lack of one. Warning, mild spoilers ahead! Turn back now if you don’t wish to be spoiled. Something is bothering me when it comes to the New War. Despite all the carnage and distraction, the latest quest’s completion feels like, well, not amazing. For a quest where the whole solar system gets taken… [Continue Reading]

5 Reasons Why I Don’t Think We Should Have More Open Worlds in Warframe

Last week’s Nightwave task included doing 5 different bounties in the Orb Vallis. At minimum, this meant doing the 5 bounties Eudico offers, although the Profit Taker heists also count. While the bounties aren’t particularly hard, they are… incredibly boring and simple. I somewhat mindlessly worked my way through the Nightwave task and then just moved on. Despite being a cool place to visit, I had little reason to stick around. And in all honesty, the same applies to the Plains of Eidolon. While these two areas are cool, I really don’t think we need any more. We’ll probably end… [Continue Reading]

Death of the Cetus Wisp – The Plains of Eidolon Remaster

Boom! Mainline update almost out of nowhere. Sure, we were told that a remaster for the Plains of Eidolon, but we weren’t really told about the details of it. Most of the changes are to the Plains themselves, improving LODs (levels of detail), adding more trees and making the Plains more friendly to K-Drives, so people bored of Fortuna and the Orb Vallis can tear shit up in the Plains instead. Conservation was added to the Plains, alongside a new little creature which I swear is a cross between the current birds and mice you already find on the Plains.… [Continue Reading]

Thoughts on an Infested Open World Area

When you look at the Plains of Eidolon and the Orb Vallis, one can’t help and think “what’s next?” Logically, if you look at what the Plains of Eidolon and the Orb Vallis are themed around, you’d probably think that an Infested-themed open world area would come next. But will it? I’m not so sure. I mean, it makes sense that an Infested open world would come next. After all, we have a Corpus area and a Grineer area, and the Infested are the other major faction. The other factions, the Orokin and the Sentients, tend to command everyone else… [Continue Reading]

The Learning Process to Killing a Teralyst Solo

On Friday 18th May 2018 at around 11pm, I managed to kill a Teralyst on my own with no squad mates. I’d attempted this a few times, only to be met with failure, or find I don’t have the right equipment. A much more experienced player might find it amusing how overly proud I was with my single Eidolon kill and might find it disheartening that I didn’t even attempt to try killing the other two Eidolons, but this is a boss fight made for four people, involving end-game gear and things like that – you basically have to do… [Continue Reading]

A Walk Around Cetus

After a long night of trying to obtain the mod Augur Secrets, which gives +24% power strength and is worth about 100 platinum, I wandered around Cetus chatting with a nice Atlas who I’d gone doing bounties with. We chatted about all sorts of things, starting with our bad luck when it came to running bounties and getting rare items, going onto things like Zaws and weapons we like. We were mostly idling, him idling outside the massive Orokin gate to the Plains, me idling on top of one of the houses like one does. Then we met up and… [Continue Reading]

Archwing and Dargyns – Motion Sickness on the Plains of Eidolon

Archwing is a funny thing. It has so much potential, yet it’s so awkward to use. It’s all still the same, nothing has changed with Archwings since I last talked about it,  what with Amesha being the best Archwing if you want to ignore everything and Itzal only being second because if its utility, but we’ve got to consider a few more things, especially the fact that Archwings can be used on the Plains of Eidolon. When it comes to Archwing on the Plains, generally called Skywing in-game, it’s… weird. Nauseating almost. The controls are kinda different compared to normal… [Continue Reading]

A First Night on the Plains

Volt seemed uncertain as the heavy Orokin doors slammed shut behind him. This was his second time out on the plains. The last time he had been here, it was day time, and he lacked the proper tools to not only fight the swarms of Grineer roaming around, but he lacked the ability to gather other resources, such as ores and gems. He wasn’t going to make that same mistake twice. Volt also planned on not making another mistake twice. Today, he was here on the Plains on his own. No more waiting for Rhino to kill everything. No more… [Continue Reading]

On Hunting Eidolons

Really, shouldn’t the plural of Eidolon be Eidola? And aren’t they Teralysts that we’re killing? Who knows? Not me. But I THINK I know a few things about hunting those giant, whiny bastards. I also know a few things about leaving them the heck alone. Just a note, to be able to effectively kill Eidolons, you MUST have completed the War Within. You can’t do this without those pesky space spoilers. So basically, hunting Eidolons is a massive pain in the ass and only really doable solo if you have an extreme amount of patients and can juggle multiple things… [Continue Reading]

A Jack of all Trades on the Plains

“Bloody hell Medic stop with the Warframe content!” some of you may beg. No. I like Warframe. And some of our Warframe content is the most viewed stuff on the site. Plus, I feel I might have some useful tips for those who are newer to the game. “But you’re going to talk about Volt again, aren’t you?” Yes, actually. Because there’s so much stuff going on in the Plains of Eidolon that you need someone who can do a bit of everything. And Volt might not be the best at everything, but he’s bloody good at a lot of… [Continue Reading]
