My Least Favourite Warframe Mission Types

Warframe has a lot of mission types, from your basic exterminate missions to complicated messes like Alchemy and Void Cascade. However, some missions are definitely not as good as others. Here are some of the… more annoying ones. Archon Hunt Spy Spy missions in general are slightly slower paced than most. The puzzles themselves aren’t that bad, even if the AI can get to you at times, but there’s often massive stretches of nothingness between each Spy vault you need to access. Archon Hunt Spy missions are made worse in two ways. Firstly, there’s only three tile sets available for… [Continue Reading]

Mirror Defense Is Way Better Than Normal Defense

I’ve never really liked defense missions in Warframe. They are slow and tedious and always prone to breaking due to having to make sure everything is dead. The main reason I play defense missions is either me starting the day doing the defense mission Seimeni on Ceres, or because it’s in the current sortie or Archon hunt. There are two basic forms of defense and both of them are boring. The first is protecting a static object, generally some sort of metal pod with an unconscious person inside it. The second involves protecting an NPC, who will always try and… [Continue Reading]

What’s New in Planetside 2

Every couple years or so I feel the need to boot Planetside 2 back up, just to see what’s changed in Steam’s pre-eminent Spandex in Space Simulator. Last time they added orbital air strikes and the whole construction minigame. This time around, nothing that drastic seems to have newly entered the fray. But there is one very-obvious addition you’ll see the first time you spawn into the map. New Neutral Spaceship! There’s now an orbiting spaceship called Sanctuary. It serves as a hub for all four factions to commingle peacefully before queueing into the active continent to murder each other.… [Continue Reading]

An Awkward and Possibly Rather Lame Look At A Single Grineer Shipyard Tile Set

The Grineer Shipyard Defense/Interception tile is a funny one. It’s a very small map and it’s the one that’s always used when you visit Seimeni for those sweet 20k credits for 5 rounds of defense. But it’s a small map that has changed a few times, not always for the better. The gimmick on the Shipyard Defense tile is that the Cryopod you need to protect is on a platform, and this platform has a chance to move from one place to another. It’s a bit like the Cryopod on Helene or Hydron except this moves on a rail. This… [Continue Reading]

Arbitrary Arbitrations Of Arbitrary Awkwardness

The Chimera update for Warframe brought two main things with it: the Chimera Prologue quest and Arbitrations. Arbitrations are missions given by the Arbiters of Hexis, that weird Syndicate that no one knows about, and are aimed at high level players with little else to do. The idea of an Arbitration is simple. Arbitrations are endless missions, only available after you’ve completed every single node on the Star Chart. And by every node, I mean all 127 of them, from that forgotten Dark Sector mission on Earth to that annoying Archwing Rush mission on Phobos to the Mutalist Alad V… [Continue Reading]

The Humble Capture Mission

After a mediocre day, there is always one thing that cheers me up. Capture missions. Ideally Void Fissure ones. Even better if they’re Lith Fissures on Venus or Mars. There’s something about their simplicity that I truly enjoy. Capture missions are one of the easiest mission types in Warframe. You leap into the mission, leap through randomly picked tiles to get to the Capture Target, you attack the target until he or she falls down, then you stand over them and turn them into little cubes. After that, you’re free to do whatever you want. Most people will just head… [Continue Reading]
