D&D: 5 Ways to Fly as a Low-Level Druid

Druid’s Wildshape doesn’t strictly allow you to fly before level 8. And none of the loopholes on this list are going to be as free, versatile, and efficient as that landmark. But as I detailed before, Wildshape is so multi-faceted a mechanic that there are ways to get yourself in the air if that’s what you’re hoping for. Today we’re covering some edge cases for low-level druids looking wistfully at the sky! Caveat: Get permission from your GM before attempting any of these tricks. Every campaign is different, and many of these won’t fit the aesthetic of an ultra-serious storyline.… [Continue Reading]

SPACESHIPS! Retvik’s First Impressions on Empyrean

I missed the initial release. I’ll admit that. It happened at like 5am when I was fast asleep, tucked up in bed and dreaming of, well, not space ninjas. But as soon as I could get to my computer (after a Windows update or two, typically), I went and installed the 2.5GB update and went to see what was going on. There is a point system, which is determined by how closely you are flying to the rocks. Flying beside a wall with your hand almost brushing against its surface, gliding between rock pillars, drifting just above a plateau, or darting through a hole on a rocky wall, they all contribute to your… [Continue Reading]

PlanetSide 2: Diary of a Little Aviator

Maidvette pushed hard on the throttle, the jets of the Reaver flaring to life as she trailed the damaged Scythe. With the crosshairs trained on the alien-looking ship, she opened fire, the Reaver’s main gun tearing into the Scythe. The Scythe, already damaged from flak, caught fire and exploded spectacularly as Maidvette broke off towards friendly territory. Smiling to herself, she remembered how many times in the simulations she had crashed the Reaver just trying to turn around just two days ago. ~Day One~ I’ve recently had the desire to try my hand at piloting in PlanetSide 2. Now, after… [Continue Reading]
