Oh No! A Dragon Wing Ephemera!

I’ll be honest, I’m a sucker for a good pair of wings. Being a person who loves dragons, wings are part of the bundle. That being said, I don’t normally put wings on anything in video games. Mostly because they block my view. Warframe is the one exception to this rule, because most of the wings in Warframe are rather stylized. And they neatly pack away so they’re not so cumbersome.

Well, the folding away thing applies more for Syandanas, cloaks for our backs. However, we have two new pairs of wings that are actually ephemera. Easy-to-obtain Ephemera, considering I bought a pair of wings for myself pretty recently.

“Haven’t we already talked about this?”

Yes, yes we have. Back in February 2021, a special ephemera was released, the Eros Wings. These cute wings were all the range when they released, and they were sold by the best NPC in the game, Ticker. The masses fell in love with these large, feathery cherub wings, and, for a while, they were absolutely everywhere.

Now though, we have the exact same thing happening. Daughter, the fishing NPC on Deimos, is selling some Ephemera too. Two of these, Spinneret and Naberus, have actually come back from past, inaccessible events. The other is Nyctalus, which is literally another pair of massive wings. Except demonic and evil, because it’s Halloween.

These wings are fucking awesome.

Didn’t even cost that much.

It’s a damn good thing I stocked up on Mother Tokens a while back. The Nyctalos Ephemera costs 200 of them, which seems like quite a lot at a glance. However, Mother Tokens just mean doing bounties. The higher level ones can easily give you around 100 tokens, and you get extra tokens if you complete the bonus tasks.

The Eros Wings were much cheaper, only costing a handful of debt tokens. However, both Ephemeras are worth the cost. And, like, how the hell can I say no to a pair of demonic, dragonish wings?

I HAD TO BUY IT!

I love everything dragon-like, and fucking hell, the Nyctalus Ephemera is great. While yes, I ranted a bit on the Eros Wings, I will admit that the Nyctalos Ephemera does exactly the same thing. However, somewhat weirdly, I find that the draconic wings seem to fit a bit better with Warframe’s overall theme. With very little effort, you can make a really damn good Infested theme. This basically ticks all the boxes for me.

The only downsides are ones similar to the Eros Wings. One of them is that the wings are coloured somewhat oddly, and it’s not obvious what channel does what. Honestly, I kinda wish that we had a full separate menu for Ephemeras so we can colour them properly.

The other downside is rather predictable. Being a giant pair of wings, turns out they really do take out much of the screen space. Thankfully. these wings go fully transparent while doing missions, but bloody hell, these wings are big.

However, I do kinda wonder why these wings are Ephemeras and not Syandanas. It’s probably so they don’t clash with Tennogen Syandanas. What I REALLY don’t get is why the Nyctalos Wings are available year-round, but the Dog Days Ephemera was restricted to summer only.

Oh well.
