The No Mercy Heist

My very first first person experience was a very long time ago, when I played Left 4 Dead back in 2009. I crawled through the map of No Mercy, and although I never made it to the hospital in my first attempt, the feeling of terror and thrills that the game gave me stuck around for a very long time. I never ended up playing much Left 4 Dead in general, due to it being a game where you want decent people to play with, but later play-throughs cemented that feeling. No Mercy will always be my favourite Left 4… [Continue Reading]

My Growing Obsession With Volt

Sometimes I wonder if there is something wrong with me. Like an overactive imagination or something. Start doing something enough and it starts to affect my dreams. The dream I had the other day involved me as Volt running round desperately failing at jumping puzzles, trying to make friends with a random Mag while gathering information so I could write a series of Daily SPUF articles, as the soundtrack from the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth played in the background. I must be insane. But the thing is, Volt is popping up everywhere in my head. Really, I shouldn’t be surprised.… [Continue Reading]

My First Sortie

So, after much tension, Davjo dragged me, kicking and screaming, through my first Sortie in Warframe… “OH GOD MEDIC STOP WITH THE DAMN WARFRAME ARTICLES I AM SO SICK OF WARFRAME ARTICLES!” Oh come on, don’t be like that. There’s over 1000 articles on this blog. Most of them are about Team Fortress 2, but nothing interesting has happened as of late. I’d do PAYDAY articles but aabicus has that covered. And no one likes it when I do Skyrim or Minecraft articles. Warframe is my game of the month and I want to talk about it. Anyway, a Sortie… [Continue Reading]

Things I don’t like about Warframe

For the sake of equality, after the Things I don’t like about Overwatch article, I’ve decided to do a few more of these. It is unfair for me to bitch about Overwatch, when other games have faults. I was going to do a Team Fortress one first but I need to refresh myself. Until I do, let’s go over things I dislike in Warframe. Crafting Times As well as space ninjas, Warframe is known for its need to farm. Warfarm after all needs you to get components to build everything. Pretty much everything important requires a handful of rare resources… [Continue Reading]

Fucking Anniversary Update…

There I was, minding my own business, trying to write articles and close things down, when Windows popped up and told me that it wanted to do an update. It didn’t specify what update, it just said it wanted to update. I thought, fine, that’s okay, it’s probably just a small update. I was about to turn off my laptop anyway, so it could do its stupid update and I could go to bed. 11pm, trying to get some rest before getting up early tomorrow, and I had an annoying as fuck bright blue screen, sitting there, staring at me… [Continue Reading]

The Second Dream

So I recently completed a certain quest in Warframe. The Second Dream. It’s an unusual quest and the latest in the Warframe story, which is insane to say the least. Then again, it’s to be expected. This is a game with space ninjas and guns and stuff. A note, this article contains spoilers on the Second Dream quest, so proceed with caution. Quests in Warframe are kinda weird though, they’re almost like optional side missions. Unlike the normal day to day activity, you just get quests by, well, uh, doing stuff. Apart from the first quest, which is partially a… [Continue Reading]

On Demoman in General

Some articles sit empty for months or even years, never getting finished. Most of my articles don’t, but this one about Demomen has been ignored. When I wrote the title, I’d played TF2 and played Demoman and my mind was full of thoughts that quickly vanished. Some of those thoughts later appeared as a rant about Demoknights but normal Demomen just sat here. So let’s talk about Demomen! Except… I don’t know what to say. But I do know what I used to say. Demoman was the power house of the game. As much as Medic, if not more than… [Continue Reading]

Poor Righteous Bison!

Out of all the Dr Grordbort weapons, I think it’s safe to say that the Righteous Bison was considered the most balanced and the most loved. Of course, the Dr Grordbort weapons have always been notorious for being unbalanced messes with tons of unneeded particles and all sorts of nastiness, but you can’t deny it, the Righteous Bison is an unbelievably cool weapon. The odd thing about the Bison is the fact that it has an unusual role among Soldiers. While a Shotgun is more of a close ranged self-defense mechanism and a close range Medic-protector, the Gunboats are designed… [Continue Reading]

Why Additional Weapon Slots are Bad

I see this pop up occasionally, mostly from the same person over and over on SPUF but also on SCUD and other places as well. The idea that giving the TF2 classes an additional slot for weapons is a good thing. Or that having an additional slot would open up for more, uh, stuff. Well, here I am, stamping on that idea. Additional weapon slots are a bad idea, and today, I am telling you why. Let’s get the first obvious reason out of the way first. We have a LOT of weapons in Team Fortress 2. Medic, Engineer and… [Continue Reading]

Mod it until it dies

“Mod it until it dies” has always been one of the unofficial taglines for the Elder Scrolls series, particularly Skyrim. Bethesda games in general have a lot of freedom not in the actual games themselves, but with what you can do with the games. From the look of your character, to badass armors to menus to entire gameplay overhauls, the Bethesda game modding community almost has a mod for everything. So when Valve and Bethesda tried to make money off community modders, under the pretense that modders could also make money, we kicked up a huge fuss. Bethesda games aren’t… [Continue Reading]
