NOT A HERO

Nope, no you are not. Not A Hero is a 2D shoot ’em up developed by a British developer, Roll7. It is a single-player game with unlockable characters. The premise of the game is as follows: A purple man with a bunny head traveled back in time to run for election to be a mayor. He did this in order to save the world as we know it from total annihilation. To make sure that he wins the election, he got together a bunch of gun-totting lunatics to shoot criminals in the face. At this point my brain just left… [Continue Reading]

Building Proper Gym Defenders in Pokemon GO

As you play Pokemon GO, you’ll quickly accrue a sizeable army of tried-and-true battlers to help you take on even the most stalwart of gyms and fearsome of raids (and soon, rival trainers!) But most of those Pokemon unfortunately will not make good gym defenders. A gym defender has an impossible task assigned to them. Even at top motivation, any attacking Pokemon will have a massive advantage going into a fight. Even worse, they likely will not be at top motivation, which only makes their chances bleaker. This makes it all the more important that you select the best possible… [Continue Reading]

Ways to Help Newbies

Ever since the Plains of Eidolon were announced, there’s been a constant stream of new players. Unfortunately Warframe does a horrendous job of explaining things, so a lot of these newbies need help. But you don’t need to be an MR20+ player to help newbies, anyone can give them a hand! Here’s a few ways to help new players. Because they genuinely need it. Hang around on Region and Recruitment Chat There’s always people asking questions, so why not answer some of them? There’s also always people asking for help with missions (often defense missions, which are pretty hard to… [Continue Reading]

Comparing EDF: Insect Armageddon and EDF 4.1

When I first got EDF: Insect Armageddon, I quite enjoyed it. I personally find it rather good value for money, and the core gameplay loop satisfying and engaging. I was rather surprised to find out that a large portion of the EDF community are rather dismissive about it. After playing EDF 4.1 for quite a while, I begin to see their point. EDF: IA is rather lacking, even when it is technically a better-made game. It has had a lot of great design decisions that should really be in the latter, as a lot of them made the game much less… [Continue Reading]

The Problems with Region Chat in Warframe

Region Chat, Recruiting Chat and Trade Chat are all very weird things and very different beasts. Recruiting Chat is filled with the same bunch of people trying to get others to join their Rad Shares, sprinkled with the odd recruitment for clans. Trade Chat is mostly filled with people wanting to buy Prime sets for next to nothing or trying to sell their riven mods for huge amounts of Platinum (even if they’re not very good). Region Chat is… a different beast. Because that is where most of the moderators live. Most of the time, moderation in Recruiting Chat and… [Continue Reading]

A Community Day Weekend – The Pros and Cons of Catching Up

Every month of 2018 has had a Community Day in Pokemon Go. One day, for three hours, one specific Pokemon will spawn with higher chances of being shiny and their final evolutions having unique moves only available during the event. December’s Community Day though was different. December got a Community Day Weekend. Which technically started on November 30th. Every Pokemon available from all the other Community Days returned for us to catch up on. Sounds cool, but there’s always some pros and cons about these things. Pro: It’s over a weekend Three days of spawns on top of the three-hour… [Continue Reading]

Mirage – The Other Trickster Warframe

When it comes to trickery, it generally arrives in two forms – either the quiet, stealthy form that Loki embodies, or the “holy shit my eyes are burning” flashiness that Mirage personifies. Loki is stealthy, Mirage is completely in your face, blinding you with flashy effects, disco balls of death and duplicates of herself. There’s nothing too fancy about Mirage. Her first ability spawns up to copies of herself, confusing enemies and quadrupling your bullet output. Her second ability can stop traps and cameras, and also places a small, glittering mine that damages enemies. Her third ability buffs her damage… [Continue Reading]

The JackBox Party Pack 5 – Damn Insanity

Whenever sister and her boyfriend pop round, you can guarantee that brother will grab his laptop and dig out one of the Jackbox Party Packs. Of course, hilarity followed as we tried all the games in the pack. First off was You Don’t Know Jack. It’s your standard quiz game, with players winning money for correct answers and losing money for wrong ones. The 5th Party Pack’s version of You Don’t Know Jack… [Continue Reading]

Spores, Spores and More Spores – Slaying with Saryn

There are four base elements in Warframe and six combination elements. There are also Warframes that mainly use a single element. Fire, Cold and Electricity are covered by Ember, Frost and Volt. Toxin is… kinda covered by Saryn. But she’s way more toxic than just Toxin alone. She’s viral too. She’s… something else. Oh and she’s insanely powerful. But let’s start off with the pain in the ass it is to obtain Saryn. You see, she’s locked away behind the Kela De Thayme fight. Which is a good fight in of itself, but it requires you to fight on the… [Continue Reading]

Pretty, Bloody but not very useful – Garuda

Garuda is the Warframe that was released alongside Fortuna, having been hyped as the “blood and gore” Warframe. But after I worked my ass off trying to get her… it turns out I don’t like Garuda. And it seems as though I’m the minority when it comes to that opinion. Right off the bat, Garuda is a bit of a problem. You see, she LOOKS like she is easy to obtain. Her blueprint is acquired after the Vox Solaris quest that introduces you to Fortuna and her component blueprints drop The drop rates on her Neuroptics, Chassis and Systems are… [Continue Reading]
