Why the Back Scatter may be best Scout weapon

Something has intrigued me. Simple put no one on the Daily SPUF has written a single article on The Back Scatter and the only time it is mentioned at all is as a passing reference in the article Stop saying I’m a good medic! Of course one may be inclined to say that “the Daily SPUF hasn’t posted content about many things” and “what makes the Back Scatter so special”. I will tell you what makes the Back Scatter so special and article-worthy. The Back Scatter sucks… like really sucks and The Daily SPUF has a penchant for writing about sucky things,… [Continue Reading]

World of Tanks

World of Tanks is a MMO game developed by Wargaming, and as the name implies, is a game about tanks. The game seemingly takes place during WW2, but you will find tanks that were never developed, and even see post war tanks in the later stages of the game. With tanks in tiers 1-10, and a range of different tank types and nations to choose from, there is a tank for everyone. When you first join the game, you will have access to multiple tier 1 tanks from nations such as Germany, the UK, France, Japan, USA, and the Soviet… [Continue Reading]

Why Is Symmetra in Support? – Overwatch

Update June 26 2018: This article is outdated due to today’s update While the TF2 community has come to accept that the official class role system has almost no basis in reality, Overwatch rolled out a very well-defined classification system that mostly makes sense. Tanky characters are tanks, healing characters are in support, ranged DPS are in offense, and area denial are in Defense. Except So many people can’t fathom why Symmetra is in Support. She’s the only support character who doesn’t heal, and her turrets are very obvious area denial. She seems like a slam dunk for the Defense category, and… [Continue Reading]

Warframe – Another Look

So my current game of the moment is Warframe, the free to play space ninja game. I was playing it when my hard drive started to die, and now I have it installed on my External (good ol’ Phovidrive), I can play it occasionally in the evenings on other people’s computers. Despite actually being a very pretty game, it runs amazingly well even on potato laptops. TF2 has been working alright too, and I finally got Left 4 Dead 2 and Saints Row: the Third to work, but nothing works as well as Warframe currently. Last time I mentioned Warframe, I said… [Continue Reading]

Fate Grand Order – The Waifu Simulator

If you’re looking for a game you can play for a few minutes a day, then maybe Fate/Grand Order is the game for you. Fate/Grand Order is a Japanese mobage (mobile game) that uses characters from the Fate franchise. Starting off, this game is only available in Japanese. Although it contains some English here and there, you can’t depend on this to guide you. Because of this, you need to memorize the menus and buttons and what they do to do anything in this game. This isn’t too hard, as you don’t need to worry about a good portion of… [Continue Reading]

Your first TF2 games

I was going through my unfinished articles. I hate all of them. But one of them is a gigantic, unfinished guide on everything you need to know about being a newbie to TF2. One day, I do plan on finishing that (when Competitive Matchmaking leaves beta, I guess), but for now, I’ll work on it occasionally. But for now, let’s think about those first few games of yours. The ideal first few games would be quite simple. You play the tutorial for Soldier, you play the second part with the bots, then maybe you play a training game with easy… [Continue Reading]

Mac-10 & Cheese

Recently I talked about my brother’s primary weapon in his airsoft loadout, the SCAR rifle. His backup weapon is the Mac-10 SMG, which has an equally-illustrious career in video game history: The MAC-10 is an extremely compact submachine gun capable of spraying a truly devastating stream of bullets in a very inaccurate cone. This is not a sharpshooter’s weapon. Because of its high damage and compact frame, it has a reputation for being a criminal weapon, often appearing in the hands of villainous, poor or seedy factions. Left 4 Dead 2 factored this into the weapon’s design according to the developer’s commentary, which… [Continue Reading]

A card game on The Daily SPUF???

This time I’m going to be writing about something a little different. Instead of a game you can play on your phone or computer, this game requires you to use physical items. Moreover, it requires you to *gasp* go meet other real life people. Weiss Schwarz is a card game made by Bushiroad. Unlike what the name might imply, it is a Japanese card game, not a German one. The game is divided into two sides, Weiss and Schwarz. The Weiss side is filled with the ‘cute’ series, while the Schwarz side is filled with the ‘cool’ series. You can… [Continue Reading]

Two things that bother me about Overwatch gameplay

From what I’ve watched and played of Overwatch, I’m overall mostly satisfied with how it all works. The majority of the problems I have are with non-gameplay related things, or my own stupid eyes and brain that give me a stupid headache after 10 minutes of play time. That’s enough for one, maybe two games if I’m lucky. But the more I watch other people play Overwatch, the more I realise that there are two major gameplay things that bother me. The first issue is the worrying amount of auto-aim going on. Off the top of my head, there are… [Continue Reading]

SCARs of War

As mentioned in this video, I recently moved from Texas to California. This has given me some quality time to reconnect with my family members who live on the West Coast. In particular, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my younger brother, who I have loads of memories growing up with but he was a little young to really remember me. While showing me his hobbies and life focuses, he revealed that he plays airsoft, and showed me his primary weapon: I was pretty surprised that the SCAR rifle found a way to once again sneak into my life,… [Continue Reading]
