Stardew Valley – The Pursuit of Perfection

Stardew Valley rocketed back into the gaming zeitgeist in March 2024 by releasing the much-awaited Update 1.6, which famously ballooned from its “minor quality-of-life patch for modders” beginnings when first announced. Like many players, I’d loved the game back in the day and created many fond memories in the valley, but new releases and the neverending search for novelty had pulled my attention to different (if not always greener) pastures. But the promise of fresh content brought me back, first to prepare my farm by whittling down my in-game bucket list, and second to save on Spring 1 of the… [Continue Reading]

I’m Sorry

I’m sorry. After over 4100 daily articles, I can’t keep this website updated daily any more. I’ve tried, but enough is enough, I need to rest. Over the last few weeks, I’ve had basically no desire to write nonfiction articles that match the Daily SPUF’s tone. I’ve had a family member pass away and all the bullshit around that, I’ve had a period out of nowhere and over the last week or so, I’ve been absolutely floored by random pains across my body and a complete and utter lack of energy. I keep on getting anxiety attacks and the only… [Continue Reading]

Not Cleffa Hatch Day

Baby Pokemon are stupid. For some reason, in Pokemon GO, these bastards are restricted from being caught and you HAVE to hatch them from eggs. Which means that, if you want a shiny one, you gotta do a lot of walking and buy a lot of incubators. Now, occasionally, we get ‘Hatch Days’, which are basically Community Days for Baby Pokemon. The first one was for Riolu, whose only real use is being taught a second move while its cheap before you evolve it into a Lucario. It was an alright event, but it was kinda tedious and there was… [Continue Reading]

Sizable Surprises Was a Fun Event But It Could Have Been More Fun

I love XXL and XXS Pokemon. I find them cute. XXL versions of massive Pokemon and XXS versions of tiny Pokemon are even better. And that is kinda what Sizable Surprises, a recent Pokemon GO event, did. It gave increased chances to get XXL and XXS Pokemon, as well as spawning a bunch of Pokemon known for being big or small. But that was kinda just it. Sure, there were increased chances to get a shiny Wailmer, but the event overall was kinda lacking. Really, I think the biggest problem was the spawns. The spawns weren’t bad but they were… [Continue Reading]

Rocking the Ropalolyst

Dressed in white, blue and gold, Nezha and Gauss both stared at the bright yellow Volt that landed beside them and tutted. “What?” Volt asked as he loaded his Kuva Twin Stubbas, then pulled out a hideous, also bright yellow Zaw. “Dude…” Gauss tutted again, flicking one of the toggles on his Acceltra Prime. “What?” “Look at yourself!” Volt glanced down at his arms and chest, then peered over his shoulders, where his Uru Syandana was hanging, then turned back to Gauss. “What? Is this because I’m yellow?” Gauss stared at Volt some more, then crossed his arms. “No, seriously,… [Continue Reading]

Dante is *PRETTY* good

A lot of Warframes are very hit or miss on release, and many of them are a tad underpowered. Yareli was a mess on release, but newer Warframes are better and better at being at the very least usable. Dante on the other hand is completely usable out of the box. He’s good. Real good. Sure, Dante doesn’t have armour strip, but he has spammy slash damage, which is great. Dante also has healing, Overguard generation, damage boosts and is just all-round a good Warframe. Light Verse gives you Overguard, Dark Verse does slash damage to whatever is in front… [Continue Reading]

Wobbling Around on Warframe on the Switch

The other day, I decided to do something stupid and smart at the same time. I decided to spend €10 on a 64GB microSD card, so I could play Warframe on the Nintendo Switch. I have actually played on the Switch before, but with Warframe’s recent updates, it only just exceeds the 40GB of inbuilt memory within the bright yellow Switch Lite that I own. At the same time, I also have Pokemon Violet installed and I didn’t want to have to uninstall that. When I first tried Warframe on the Switch, I started a brand new account, with a… [Continue Reading]

The Bug Out Event Sucked

Not all events are created equal, but the Bug Out event we recently had was pretty damn lame. There was very little good about it, and the event just didn’t really do anything. Now, Bug Types aren’t a great bunch. They’re often the punching bag of the Pokemon world, and can be split into two forms: the crap you catch on early routes and the hard-to-catch stuff later on that gets a decent secondary typing or a mega evolution or something. This event though only really contained the former. Sure, we got Mega Heracross in raids, but, well, the only… [Continue Reading]

Bellsprout Community Day

No one asked for Bellsprout Community Day. No one. Not anyone. Even people who use it in PvP weren’t really looking for a Bellsprout Community Day. However, Niantic saw that the 20th of the 4th, 4/20 in the US, fell on a Saturday, and they decided that Pokemon number #69 was the perfect choice for a Community Day. Because why not double down with both a 420 meme and a 69 meme? That being said, they could doubled down on the 420 meme twice, since Pokemon number 420 is Cherubi, but its evolution is weather-based and Niantic probably couldn’t be… [Continue Reading]
