5 Old Facts about the 3 Starter Frames

The three starter Warframes are old. Excalibur, Mag and Volt are among the original 8 Warframes that were in the game on release and they’re the three options you choose from, should you create a new account and start from the beginning. But each of these Warframes has a long and colourful history, most of which is forgotten these days. So here are six ancient facts about our three favourite starter Warframes. Their blueprint locations have been all over the place While Mag has pretty much always been the drop from the Sergeant, Volt and Excalibur have been a bit… [Continue Reading]

On Not Feeling Like A Warframe Veteran

On a Waframe Discord channel, I recently joked that I’m MR29 and still sometimes feel like a “Smolt”. A Smolt is the name generally given to a low MR newbie who picked Volt as their starter, a “small Volt”. I can’t really claim to be a Smolt at all, since I’m Mastery Rank 29, with pretty much everything leveled up and unlocked. Sometimes though? Sometimes I find myself struggling. Normally it’s the little things. Most of the time, I’m fine. I’ll mow through enemies like any other normal space ninja. But occasionally, I’ll find myself running into a brick wall,… [Continue Reading]

Final Fantasy XIV: First Impressions in 2020

Breaking News: Yesterday the devs revealed that FF14 is raising the free trial’s level cap from 35 to 60, as well as adding the whole base game, the Heavensward DLC, and all related races, classes, and content permanently free to play. This is the best opportunity to try this game out if you’re on the fence! Two months ago my boyfriend asked if I’d be interested in trying Final Fantasy 14. The coronavirus had completely zapped all semblances of a social life outside the confines of our apartment, and the rest of our local friend circle had already subscribed just… [Continue Reading]

The Hidden Gems and Tedious Slogs of the Steel Path

Some point late at night on July 21st, I finally finished the Steel Path. My last node was nothing special. A defense mission in the Void. The only remarkable thing was that 1. I was playing Limbo and 2. I wasn’t completely solo. The Steel Path hasn’t been particularly fun for me, as I’ve had to do most of it solo and found that my normal builds are woefully inadequate. I’m glad it’s over, but I feel I have a lot to talk about. Rather than go through the entire star chart though, I’m just going to mention the highs… [Continue Reading]

The Making of a Demoman

Three years ago I indulged in a full article about my Medic cosmetic loadout, since it had remained remarkably consistent throughout the years and each piece held a lot of sentimental value to me. But only recently did I realize that there’s a fair amount of personal history in my Demoman loadout as well, considering I’ve been offclassing him for almost as long. Much like with Medic, my first few years were spent playing completely cosmetic-free; I was so addicted to stats I couldn’t fathom caring about something that didn’t change the actual gameplay in any way. It also took… [Continue Reading]

The Steel Path – It’s the Grineer…

I’m slowly making my way around the star chart. The Steel path may add 100 levels and tons of extra health and armour, but I’m getting there. The main thing holding me back is a lack of time to play, but I’ve managed to complete about a planet a day. I’m not doing amazing, but I’m not doing badly either. I struggled my way through Earth as I wasn’t quite used to the enemies yet. Then I struggled my way through Lua, mixing up my builds constantly (Steel Path doesn’t make it clear which faction is where). And then I… [Continue Reading]

5 Reasons to Use the Bow in Payday 2

I’ve covered a lot of weapons in these 2-minute Payday guides. I’ve gone over rifles, shotguns, pistols, melee weapons, throwables, akimbos…and yet in none of those videos, none of my many lists, has my personal favorite weapon ever come up. The weapon that I consider the most versatile and single-best option in the game, something I’m amazed more people don’t use, something I’m usually using in the other slot in all the videos. I’m talking about the Plainsrider Bow from the Western Pack, and by extension all bow-type weapons in the game. In this video, I’m making my case for… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon Go Needs More Random Encounters

I absolutely loved the Team Go Rocket pre-Go Fest event. Sure, the event research sucked ass, but it was awesome having grunts to fight! It’s also cool being able to fight Giovanni and the Leaders, without scouring Pokestops with a radar. The nicest thing is that you can just sit at home on your own and have an encounter. Sure, most of the time, it’s a male grunt with an Omanyte, but it’s a nice little encounter. Something to spice up an otherwise empty world. Let’s face it, Pokemon Go’s map is bland! Up until we got the buddy update,… [Continue Reading]

There Are Always Idiots In Every Group. Always.

I was browsing imgur the other day when one of the front page posts was talking about being wrong about climate change. The post, a screenshot off of Tumblr, stated that there would be no real consequences if we turned out to be wrong about climate change and would still be making the world a better place. There were a few arguments in the comments, mostly about “well it’s all China/India’s fault!” and “the corporations do most of it!”. There were even some retards who commented that “more CO2 is good because plants need it!”, not knowing that carbon dioxide… [Continue Reading]

Khora’s Weird New Deluxe Skin

What is it with me and my favourite frames getting… weird skins? My favourite frame, Volt, never got a deluxe skin, and instead got a weird “Proto-but-not-proto” skin. And now, my second favourite frame, Khora, has got a weird skin of her own. The Khora Urushu skin is… kinda weird. It’s definitely a Khora skin, the problem here isn’t like Ember and her weird, bird-like deluxe skin. But something feels off about it. It’s cool but… not cool? I mean, at first glance, the Urushu skin looks amazing. Khora gains this cool, geisha-like look, complete with thorny flowers and an… [Continue Reading]
