The Actual Speedster Warframe – Does He Threaten Other Speedsters?

I don’t normally talk about Warframes that haven’t been released yet because I like to play them before I judge them. That’s not the case with Gauss, the speedster Warframe. While his best friend Grendel, the oni Warframe who is set to be released at the same time as Gauss, seems pretty cute and not at all deadly, a lot of people have been wondering whether Gauss will be stepping on the toes of existing Warframes, most notably speedster Warframes like Volt, Nezha and Zephyr. The question is, will he be a straight upgrade? Will he leave other Warframes in… [Continue Reading]

Dog Days – A Wet Warframe Tactical Alert

Warframe has a lot of weird things in it. It has flying backpacks that allow you to fly through space, it has pet dogs, cats and robotic birds, you can drive around on skateboards and do all sorts. Also, for some reason, for the next week or so, you can fight Grineer executioners with water pistols in a massive beach water fight. Or, as drunk, gas-inebriated Kela De Thayme calls it, a waddafite. Seriously, when Red Text popped up on a Friday evening talking about everyone’s favourite female Grineer boss being drunk and making puns about water pistols and stuff,… [Continue Reading]

The One Forma Volt (Prime) Nuke Build

My All-Rounders Volt build, in my opinion, is a good one. I take it everywhere and it mostly gets the job done, providing enough power strength to make Speed and Shock usable while also keeping Discharge and Electric Shield viable as well. But sometimes you just need everything to die, and right now this is where Volt also shines, because of how Discharge works. Discharge does more damage by bouncing to and from enemies. This means that you need high range to be able to make Discharge bounce between more and more enemies. But the bouncing only lasts for so… [Continue Reading]

Ty and the Army of Evil Zubats

I talked about the release of Team Go Rocket and their takeover of Pokestops across the world, but last Sunday, Team Go Rocket decided to try and take over every Pokestop on the planet for an hour local time. Which is fine because I actually haven’t seen many Team Go Rocket-controlled Pokestops and the ones I have seen, it’s ALWAYS the same ones. Specifically the one next to the old police station and the one where the new Cafe Nero is, and they’re like a 5-10 minute walk apart. So during this hour of intense Team Go Rocket invading, I… [Continue Reading]

Medic, BSc

You might have noticed that yesterday I was talking about the Open University and how I studied with them. It might in fact have seemed a little suspicious, since this was something I had been doing on weekends and Wednesdays for the last 7 years, and I’d only started talking about it this year, both in yesterday’s article and an article a while back talking about an Open University course about web and mobile technologies. Well, as of today, I have a BSc Open Degree with honours. Which means I can stick BSc behind my real name. Actually, I found… [Continue Reading]

On Studying with the Open University

For the past seven or so years, I have been studying with the UK’s Open University, working on a degree. I’ve been studying part time for the entirety of those seven years, while also working somewhat full time, switching to completely full time work in August during the school break. It’s been a pretty good experience that has taken up a large chunk of my recent life, so I think it’s definitely worth talking about. The Open University offers distance learning. It’s the same as a normal university except you don’t go into campus or anything, you study from home,… [Continue Reading]

A Weird Game Called Trove

The problem with having people who want to play games with you but are completely broke and didn’t waste their money on a library of Steam games is that they don’t have any money to play any of the many games you have. I have about 160 games on Steam, my brother has about 400 because… well, for starters, he unboxed a €200 CS:GO knife a while back. My sister has 158 games apparently but doesn’t want to play any of them (or she uninstalled them all) and her fiancee has fuck all when it comes to a workable collection… [Continue Reading]

The TF2 Unusual Apyrocalypse

So there’s a thing in TF2 where you basically had a 100% chance at getting an unusual from a certain number of crates. Specifically specific crates. As in, you open a bunch of crates and you are guaranteed an unusual. Of course as soon as word got out that you could get guaranteed unusuals, everyone started buying the specific crates and opening them and getting a ton of unusuals. And of course, this all had a ton of repercussions. The first was that the market for Unusual Hats dropped like a brick. Normally, unusual hats were anywhere from about €30… [Continue Reading]

Team Rocket Attacks Pokemon Go and the Real World

A new Pokemon Go update has appeared, featuring Team Rocket of all people. Wait, no, not Team Rocket. This lot are called Team GO Rocket, to totally differentiate themselves. Team GO Rocket are attacking Pokestops and stealing the resources from them and it’s up to us to stop them! Actually, the system is pretty cool. You can spot an affected (infected?) Pokestop because it’s darker than most and the cube on top vibrates and glitches out. As you get closer, the Pokestops turn black, a nice red R appears on top and a Team Rocket Go NPC appears and challenges… [Continue Reading]
