On Trying to be Green

Trying to be green and eco-friendly is hard for a normal person. The majority of us are just trying to survive our day to day lives, to pay our rent or mortgage and put food on the table. Some of us have families to look after, others are still unable to settle down, or don’t feel capable of or willing to starting a family. At the same time, we’re being told that we need to protect the environment and save our planet, even as we slip further and further towards destruction. Things are depressing. But we are told that we… [Continue Reading]

Mega Garchomp Raid Day

November 11th featured the first Raid Day in a long time, involving a new Mega Pokemon, Mega Garchomp. While we did have a Gible Community Day a few years back, this event allowed us to finally Mega Evolve the Garchomps we’ve had for so long, as well as the chance to catch some more Garchomps. The Garchomps had a chance to be shiny, and you got up to 5 free raid passes by spinning gyms. There were plenty of raids to be had. As a somewhat new feature, each raid would last 1 hour, and, after the raid ended, a… [Continue Reading]

Halloween Ends on 8pm in Pokemon GO

Halloween is generally a big thing. While I spent my Halloween on my own, sitting in pain and crying, many people went out, put costumes and ate tons of candy. Whether they went from door to door or went to a party, they had fun and probably stayed out past 8pm. People with little kids probably didn’t stay out too late, but it was Halloween, the day where most people DID stay out. Not for Pokemon GO though. The Halloween event they had (which included a Rocket Takeover event too) decided to end at 8pm. At exactly 8pm, all the… [Continue Reading]

The Best Sea of Thieves Session in a Long Time

On Wednesday, I got a message, asking to play Sea of Thieves. The last few sessions we’d played, it had been on a sloop, either solo or with Bacxaber, and, thanks to a combination of bugs and the game’s awful hit registration, we hadn’t managed to get a lot done. However, with Fox as a third crew member and a change of ship scenery, we decided to just go out, be Reapers and do some world events. Nice and simple. Nothing fancy. After all, there’s a season to be completed, and the rewards for this season are pretty good. For… [Continue Reading]

The Curse Of Looking for Raids

I swear, every time I go out looking for raids, I can’t find any. But when I don’t want to do raids, there are plenty of them. The other day, I went out to play Pokemon GO with my brother, and we simply couldn’t find any raids. We tend to go out to do raids semi regularly, since we both play together. As of late, thanks to the Master Ball research, we’ve wanted to do more raids, thanks to the Win 60 Raids task in the timed research. While I managed to complete the research thanks to my location, my… [Continue Reading]

Finding My Old 94% Saints Row 3 Save

Lately, I’ve wanted to play something new but familiar. And preferably with low graphics so I can play with a decent framerate. I browsed through my game library and noticed that I hadn’t played any of the Saints Row games in a while. The last time I tried anything like that, I found myself playing Agents of Mayhem, and I very much ended up giving up on it. The game just wasn’t enjoyable to me, and wasn’t really Saints-Row-y enough. I’ve had similar problems with the Saints Row games, but something drew me into reinstalling Saints Row 2 and 3.… [Continue Reading]

How I’d Improve Shadow Raids in Pokemon GO

Shadow Raids are exactly that: raids but with Shadow Pokemon. These raids vary between being very hard to very difficult, especially if you do Shadow Legendary Raids. However, I think these raids, which are often ignored, could be improved. Here’s how I’d do it. Stop making them angrier When you do a Shadow Raid, if it’s a level 3 or level 5 raid, then the Pokemon you’re raiding against gets enraged. This means they do more damage and they also take less damage. There are two ways to subdue a Pokemon that’s enraged. You either throw purification gems at the… [Continue Reading]

Wooper Community Day

Wooper is a cute Pokemon, and it was made even cuter when Pokemon Scarlet and Violet came out, as it got a regional form which was also very cute. So when it got a community day, I was excited to get not just one, but two cute, cool shinies. For this community day, we got not just normal Wooper, but we also got the release of Paldean Wooper, and its evolution Clodsire. The bonuses for this event were 1/4 hatch distance and x2 candy on catching Pokemon. These didn’t feel that useful, mostly because Wooper has never been a rare… [Continue Reading]

Reaper’s Bones – Lore versus Gameplay

Throughout the history of Sea of Thieves, there’s been an obvious bad guy behind it all. Captain Flameheart is a ruthless pirate, infused with various dark magics, who wants to violently take over the Sea of Thieves and become its king. Flameheart is a vile and vicious monster who will happily kill anyone in his path in order to complete his plan. For a long time though, Flameheart was kinda dead, and acted via proxies and loyal servants, particularly the Ashen Lords. In the current timeline in the game though, thanks to an adventure where we had to collect mystic… [Continue Reading]

On Shadows and IVs

So we just had a Team Rocket Takeover event, and it was pretty damn good. It was also part of a Halloween event, but, frankly, with the new shadow Pokemon we got, it was like Christmas for anyone who is into doing raids. We got four new shadow Pokemon that are either the best or among the best when it comes to DPS. The Pokemon we got are genuinely great. Shadow Rampardos and Shadow Gengar are the glassiest of cannons, but when they do manage to get their damage off, they absolutely destroy. Unfortunately, that might not always be possible,… [Continue Reading]
