A Nice Walk in the Dark

I don't know what this emotion is

I consider myself a fortunate person. I live in a country where going out at night is mostly safe. The most likely thing to get you is a car that doesn’t stop at red lights. And because it’s so calm, I can also go out and play some Pokemon GO as well. It’s very pleasant. However, currently, it’s cold, and it gets dark quite early. We are in the middle of winter, after all. But the darkness can be a little depressing. This is where Pokemon GO comes into play, chewing away at my more negative feelings. It’s nice, just… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays Pokemon Violet – Part 3

Off to explore the world!

I’m gonna be honest, I’m a little bit lost. I can’t decide what I actually want to do, and instead I’ve just been wandering around. Since part 2 all I have really done is go from pokecenter to pokecenter, unlocking waypoints to be able to fly to later on. So here’s what I’ve been up to. The major thing I have been doing is catching Pokemon. Anything new I come across, I grab my Pokeballs and try to weaken them down so I can catch them. This has been going quite well with Ringo the Weed Cat, mostly just using… [Continue Reading]

Chespin Commuinity Day

Shiny Chespin

The new year has been pretty good so far in Pokemon GO. We had a nice new year’s event, and, at the time of writing, an event with fairies and dragons coming up. We’re also starting the year with a more familiar face, a starter Pokemon. After a long delay, we seem to be back on course when it comes to Community Days. And January’s Community Day is for Chespin, the spiky nut Pokemon, and the grass starter for the Kalos region. It’s been a while since we last saw a community day starter, and Chespin is nice and refreshing.… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays Pokemon Violet – Part 2

Off to explore the world!

I’m back here, playing more Pokemon Violet, but guess what? There’s a time skip! After going to bed after my first day at school, there’s a massive time skip, up until the school’s big event, the Treasure Hunt. Honestly, I am just perplexed by the time skip. But anyway, the time skip passes and we are left standing outside the school, being told about the treasure hunt. There’s no actual treasure or anything. It’s basically the school director telling the kids to explore the island rather than doing classes, in a bid to get them all outside and, uh, learn… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays Pokemon Violet – Part 1

Mesagoza and the school in the distance

Honestly. I’m beginning to realize that this game is going to take a while. Especially with so much to do. I’m not even at the capital yet… Anyway, let’s get going! So, after a stop at the light house, we now make our way to the next village, where I discover that Poke Centres have really been trimmed down. They don’t even have their own building, it’s more like going to a petrol station. Nemona meets us at the small village and asks me if I battled anyone. I didn’t, I was too busy catching the local fauna. I HAD… [Continue Reading]

Medic Plays Pokemon Violet – Part 0

Pokemon Violet

This Christmas, my lovely boyfriend was very generous and got me Pokemon Violet for Christmas. And of course I almost immediately started to play it. And just like I did with Pokemon Shield, I thought maybe this would be a good series of articles. So that’s what I’m doing, I’m playing through Pokemon Violet. And so far, it’s actually been a bit… weird. Like a strange roller coaster or something.= Anyway, let’s get started. We start off in a very nice, luxurious house. It seems quite large, especially for only two people. Maybe a third, but most Pokemon games don’t… [Continue Reading]

Babbdi

Steam Store Banner

It’s been a while since I’ve last wrote. Partly because I’ve been busy, partly because I haven’t played anything aside for Genshin for a long time. Even though that game has a major update every six weeks (with a hefty amount of content in each one, it’s amazing), I am not entirely sure if people reading this site will care. So instead I will talk about a new game I just played that is quite something. Babbdi is a … walking simulator? Puzzle platformer? Babbdi is a game where you try to navigate the eponymous town in order to get… [Continue Reading]

Avoiding the Fear of Missing Out in Pokemon Go

Mega Gro- hang on no, this is a Dynamax...

One of the larger things that keep people playing is FOMO. FOMO, short for Fear Of Missing Out, is a major problem, especially with video games. The worry is that you might miss on something insanely rare, important or powerful by not playing the game and not playing in various events. Pokemon GO is very guilty of this, especially since they are CONSTANTLY doing events with various new or costumed Pokemon. Luckily, here are a few things you can do to mitigate that fear of missing out. They are just costumes My first tip is actually pretty basic. There are… [Continue Reading]

My Favourite Semi-Rare Pokemon from Pokemon GO

In Pokemon GO, I have nearly 2000 Pokemon. While that number can be decreased, there’s also plenty of cool Pokemon in that collection. In fact, I have several pretty cool Pokemon that could actually be considered kinda rare. Here are some of them. Perfect Armoured Mewtwo Armoured Mewtwo is an odd one. The actual armour doesn’t actually look that great. In fact, it looks over-designed and nit at all comfy in any way. But this particular Armoured Mewtwo was actually a tie-in for a Pokemon movie that was coming out at the time. Either way, we actually haven’t seen this… [Continue Reading]

Ukraine War Stories

Store page banner for UWS

On the twenty-fourth of February, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. The war brought about major humanitarian crises, changes in military alliances, and major revisions to military doctrine. It also brought about economic upheaval, or at least worsening the one we already had due to the pandemic. Headlines blared across news sites and papers everywhere, screaming about every major news, words from important figures of this war, including the man safely tucked behind a mile-long table, and evidence of heart-wrenching cruelty. Behind all these, however, are countless stories of common folk, much like you and I, who is being punished for the… [Continue Reading]
