Ash is Good, but…

I’ve been playing both a lot of Index and a lot of Steel Path lately. When I play the same things over and over, I tend to not want to constantly change my Warframe a lot. I also don’t often use specific Warframes for specific tasks, I tend to prefer a generalist Warframe over a specific one. After all, Volt and Saryn are both nuke frames, but I prefer Volt due to his versatility. And while both Loki and Ivara are higher on my most-played list of Warframes, Ash has always been my invisibility frame of choice. Ash is a… [Continue Reading]

The Tireless Quest for Ash Systems Blueprints

“You want to farm Ash parts? Specifically the Ash Systems?” “Yep.” It had been some time since Smolt had evolved into Smallnaros, and it had been even longer since Volt had seen the former newbie he had picked up and trained a while back. Things had clearly happened since then, what with Volt having switched away from his bright yellow looks and Inaros having finally gotten over his Kuva-coloured addiction. “Do you need help?” “I do.” Volt shrugged and headed over to the Codex on his ship, looking up a specific enemy which Volt knew horded Ash Warframe parts. “Hm…”… [Continue Reading]

Medic’s Misthoughts on Melee 2.999 Recurring

I’ve been meaning to mention the melee changes that came with the Old Blood update for a while, especially since it made up at least a quarter of the Old Blood, aside from the Liches, the Ember and Vauban reworks and the vast amounts of other changes they made. Essentially all melee weapons got reworked, with new animations and new buffs and stat changes and all sorts. So, uh, how is it? I, uh, am not completely sure. I want to say that Melee 2.999 is great, especially since Melee 2.998 was a bit all over the place and unfinished.… [Continue Reading]

My Other Favourite Warframes

Anyone who reads the Daily SPUF on a regular basis probably knows that my favourite Warframe by a mile is Volt, distantly followed by Khora and trailed by Ivara. But surely I don’t play those three Warframes all the time, right? No, of course not, I pick Warframes according to what mission I am about to do. But I do have some favourites. What counts as a favourite is quite easy to tell if you simply look in my Warframe arsenal. It’s all the Warframes with Forma in them, right? Well, kinda, yes, mostly. I’ll be honest, I only stuck… [Continue Reading]

Another Look at Ash – No Longer a Power Point Presentation

Sometimes, just sometimes, you can’t use the same Warframe for everything. Sometimes you gotta try new things. Sometimes you really, really want something dead. Sometimes, you actually want to be a stealthy ninja, going around sneakily murdering things. Well Ash is really good at that. Ash Prime is even better than that, and there’s a ton of them running around right now because nearly everyone got an Ash Prime if they had linked up their Warframe and Twitch accounts and were active the 7 days before Tennocon. Since there’s a load of newbie Ashes wandering around, really it was the… [Continue Reading]

On Stealth Warframes

So I had to play Loki the other day. I was farming the Plague Star mission with a group and they requested that I go Loki to help speed things up. By speed things up, they mean by using Switch Teleport to get the drone moving faster. Honestly I think I actually made the mission take longer, because multiple times I accidentally Switch Teleported team mates instead of the drone. Mostly my fault, but they WERE standing right next to the bastard. Still, it got me thinking about things. Mostly about stealth. Stealth in Warframe is pretty hard to obtain… [Continue Reading]

PowerPoint Presentation Loki

I like writing articles about individual Warframes. Each one has got their own character about them. Volt is a derpy thing with square knees that throws lightning, Frost is a chill dude in a coat and Trinity is boring as fuck. Loki in particular is a nice character, boasting invisibility and speed, but being about as strong as wet toilet paper. But sometimes there’s a bit of overlap between characters. There has to be eventually, there are only so many ideas out there. But I didn’t think that such a large overlap existed already. Let’s talk about Ash. Ash is… [Continue Reading]
