On Rochelle

It’s unusual to write an article on Left 4 Dead 2, when aabicus is so clearly better at the game than I am. And with only 30 hours (apparently) on the game, I look like a bit of a noob, even though as many as seven years ago, I was being dragged around Advanced coop campaigns and the only one I never managed to beat (and actually played) was Hard Rain, because that is genuinely a grueling campaign. That being said, I also know quite a bit of the ins and outs of the game, and I’ve always liked how… [Continue Reading]

An Ode to Ordis, for real

Ordis is a ship Cephalon and the AI controlling your home, the Orbiter, in Warframe. Damaged and slightly crazy, Ordis makes sure that everything is okay and refers to you as the Operator. He is the fourth being you’ll ever meet (after your Warframe, the Lotus and Captain Vor), and he’ll always be with you. Forever and ever. Because Ordis cares about you and will happily die for you if he has to. But not many people care about Ordis. His repeating lines, his bad humor, his error-induced puns, his violent outburts and that damn Grineer not-a-number witticism often drive… [Continue Reading]

Roadhog Time

As a Lucio main who offclasses Soldier 76, I’m pretty immune to the whole Overwatch concept of “competitive checks and balances”. Both of my mains are stupidly adaptable with self-healing, self-defense, mobility, and easy-to-use firearms rounding out their generalist kits. No matter who I’m fighting on the other team, its rare for any opposing hero choices to really cause me much difficulty beyond forcing me to play passively and maybe preventing me from easily doing my job. And then there’s this mother♥♥♥♥er. Roadhog counters both of my mains so badly that he’s now my tertiary main, for no reason other… [Continue Reading]

The Tenno Queen of the Pixies

I joined Warframe during the Specters of the Rail update. Not long afterwards, a new character was added, whose construction involved collecting ingredients on various planets, mainly Earth. This was great for newbie me, because it meant loads of high level players were around to do the harder mission types, like Mobile Defence and Survival. I would also see people actually taking their time on missions, something that would become a rare sight later on in my Warframe adventures. But eventually, I moved away from Earth and made my journey around the solar system. I saw a handful of people… [Continue Reading]

Playthroughs of the Past

I still have my very first save in Skyrim. Made back in 2014, it’s just named 001 Prisoner. It’s the first save the game automatically creates, just before you actually go and create your character. After the long, pretty boring cart ride. Rather than sit through said cart ride, I always use this save when I start a new Skyrim playthrough. Of course, like any character customization, I always spend a while on it. Then I end up fucking up my character and starting again. After that, I give up and tweak a default character and go with that instead.… [Continue Reading]

Character Annihilation 5 – Dazed

You know how hard it is to write these intros? Not very. Oh well. Today, in Character Annihilation, a bunch of stories about people that no one outside the TF2 section of the Steam Powered User Forums cares about, we talk about a very confused person. Character Annihilation 4 – Sniped

Welcome to the fourth installment of Character Annihilation, a lame excuse for the editor of the Daily SPUF to write something different for a change, rather than spouting bollocks about TF2. Today’s story is about Foxzet, the guy who hates the Machina. Can’t really blame him. Character Annihilation 3 – Clean

Character Annihilation is a blatant excuse for the editor of this blog to write scathing, hate-filled articles about SPUFers. Not really. They are simply a bunch of fictional stories about various SPUFers. Today’s story is about SPUF’s resident vroom vroom, A 1970 Corvette.
