On Wearing A Smart Watch

Not too long ago, I was given a simple smart watch. It’s an older Samsung Galaxy Fit2, and I’ve been wearing it consistently. I’m actually not normally someone who wears a watch, but I’ve decided to be open-minded and give it a go. Just to see what it’s like. So how is this smart watch? It’s handy Haha a pun. But yeah, I’ve actually found this thing quite handy. Mostly because it vibrates just before my phone rings, giving me an extra second to react. It also vibrates when my alarms go off, which do an okay job of waking… [Continue Reading]

5 Unusual Ways to Heal Yourself and Avoid Damage in Warframe

On the surface of Warframe, especially early on, there’s a small problem with, well, just playing. For low level players, there are often too few ways to heal yourself. But as you climb the ranks, players find more and more ways to heal themselves and stop themselves from dying. However, there are quite a few ways you can heal yourself, and some of them aren’t exactly obvious. Guardian and Medi-Ray We’re going to start off simple here. Medi-Ray is a mod for robotic companions, which makes them slowly heal you if you take damage. The healing isn’t the best, but… [Continue Reading]

On Low Blood Sugar

Hypoglycemia, often called low blood sugar, is when the sugar levels in your blood drop below normal levels. How it affects each individual isn’t always the same, but the general symptoms are things like shaking, an inability to concentrate, weakness, clumsiness, confusion and all sorts of not particularly fun things. If left untreated, hypoglycemia can cause someone to lose consciousness or even die, although this only happens if hypoglycemia is not treated for a long time. As to what actually IS low blood sugar? Well for diabetics, it’s a blood sugar measurement below below 3.9 mmol/L. In normal people with functional… [Continue Reading]

In Defense of Redirection and Shields in Warframe

After getting rid of one of my Riven Mods today, the person I traded with wanted to show me their collection of overpowered weapons that have been improved by their other Riven Mods. I wasn’t doing anything, so I happily joined them in the Simulacrum so they could show me their things. Honestly, I wasn’t that impressed, especially when they said “watch me survive these 8 level 130 Heavy Gunners” then proceeded to use Valkyr and her Hysteria. This person though freaked out when they saw my Volt Prime with my 1200 shields and only 420 health. They screamed that… [Continue Reading]

Health VS Shields – What’s the Better Choice in Warframe?

In Warframe, you have both health and shields. This is common in a lot of games, but not every game allows you to increase one or the other or both as you please. But not everyone has the capacity to slap a fully leveled health or shields mod on their Warframe. Maybe your Warframe hasn’t reached level 30 yet? Or maybe you don’t have any aura mods or means to increase capacity? Or maybe you simply don’t have room for both mods and have to pick one or the other? So which one do you choose? That’s what I hope… [Continue Reading]

Butting Heads in the Apocalypse

I’ve always loved watching competitive eSports. There’s nothing more electrifying than watching the absolute top players of a community murdering each other with insane reflexes, top-tier strats and telepathic teamwork, all with a pair of announcers following you along for the ride. But for the first time, I’ve found a competitive mode that really bears serious analysis just because of how creative the community had to get to even translate the base game into something eSport-worthy. I’m talking about Valve’s greatest asymmetrical shooter, Left 4 Dead 2. (A short crash course for people unfamiliar with L4D2 versus: Each map on a campaign, one… [Continue Reading]

Regenerating Health – The Concheror, Cozy Camper, and Amputator

Today I want to go over a trio of related weapons that were all affected by a change made to the Medic’s base regen during the Tough Break Update. As you can see, the description to the Concheror claims “+4 hp regenerated per second” but what actually happens is that you start regenerating at 1 hp and that number gradually increases to 4 the longer you go without taking damage. The Cozy Camper and the Amputator are identical, except that the Amputator stops at 3. I thought I’d talk about what this means for each weapon, because it’s interesting to… [Continue Reading]

Health Points and You

I’m going to rant. Ranting is something that Medics do often. It’s understandable really. In a low-skill environment, Medics have to work far harder than anyone else to get anything done. Moving up the skill ladder eases these issues, but they’re still there. The problem not only lies with the Medic himself, but with his team and who he’s healing. Today’s rant is about how people look after their health. Or don’t.
