3 More Tips Every L4D2 Player Should Know

A while back I wrote an article about three basic tips every Left 4 Dead 2 player should know. Each of them are easy to understand yet massively increase anyone’s survivability. The tips in this followup article are less mandatory, but still good to know. Either they’re more situational, or there are nuances that make them a little tougher to explain effectively. Nevertheless, if you found the first one helpful, this sequel’s for you! Tip #1: Stand on map objects when you get the chance. Imagine a common situation: you’re traveling down the street, when a horde of zombies suddenly… [Continue Reading]

3 Basic Tips Every L4D2 Player Should Know

The other day I took an old L4D2 article and repurposed the topic into a Payday the Heist article. Well today, a Payday article is returning the favor due to a major L4D2 update coming out and bringing a whole host of new players to our favorite zombie shooter! I recently played through the new campaign with three friends, and we managed to beat it on Advanced Difficulty our first try. Despite this, there were a couple of basic mechanics I saw they could have been doing to drastically increase their survivability: Tip #1: Shove More. This is the single… [Continue Reading]

Left 4 Dead – My First Game on Steam

I still vaguely remember buying Left 4 Dead. It was a long time ago. I was on holiday in the UK visiting my family. We were in the town where we used to live when I lived in the UK too, in the town centre, going through a gaming shop of some sort. I picked Left 4 Dead up for £15 and happily took it back to my grandma’s. I wouldn’t be able to replay until I returned home, a week or so later. That was also when I made my Steam account, which is now, what, 8 years old?… [Continue Reading]

Playing Left 4 Dead 2 with Stupid Mods

In my siblings’ quest to find something we all want to play, I suggested Left 4 Dead 2. We’d been suggesting it for ages, but never got around to it because sister’s computer ‘wasn’t letting her’ or something like that. But on the weekend, she clicked L4D2 and it loaded no problem. Brother squealed with joy, and I silently lamented the fact that we were all going to die repeatedly. Of course, I’d also forgotten that I’d also installed a fuckton of dumb mods. Okay, not a fuckton. One of the mods I had was genuinely useful. It, like many… [Continue Reading]

On Rahkshi

The Rahkshi were the six main bad guys in the 2003 Bionicle storyline, branded as the ‘Sons of Makuta’ and made out to be incredibly evil and hard to beat. They were considered genuinely scary beings and were the first sets to have simple bendy knees. Luckily, like the Bohrok and Bohrok-Kal and the Rahi before them, all you have to do to defeat them is to remove the squidgy, organic part and the Rahkshi just fall down. Problem is, while originally the Rahkshi were scary enemies that even the newly powered up Toa Nuva struggled to defeat, we later… [Continue Reading]

On Rochelle

It’s unusual to write an article on Left 4 Dead 2, when aabicus is so clearly better at the game than I am. And with only 30 hours (apparently) on the game, I look like a bit of a noob, even though as many as seven years ago, I was being dragged around Advanced coop campaigns and the only one I never managed to beat (and actually played) was Hard Rain, because that is genuinely a grueling campaign. That being said, I also know quite a bit of the ins and outs of the game, and I’ve always liked how… [Continue Reading]

Carnival Kill the Noobs

Alternatively titled “Breaking the backs of wicket and aabicus”. On Saturday some residents of SPUF managed to meet up online to play versus against each other. However, some of us got practice before this. Namely, aabicus, wicket, owels, and me (majer63). Since wicket (known as hugthebed2 on the forums) wanted a challenge, we loaded up the carnival campaign of Expert difficulty. I don’t want to show off, but I’m absolutely, positively, 100% TERRIBLE and this. That’s not to say I’m just bad the game, far from it in my mind anyways. However, I’m able to recognise my shortcomings, one of… [Continue Reading]
