Lure Modules Aren’t Very Good

Lure modules are like incense for Pokestops. You stick a lure module on a Pokestop and it spawns some Pokemon for you. Lure modules generally spawn from specific pools. The default lure module spawns whatever Pokemon are currently in the normal spawn pool, so they’ll spawn event Pokemon if there is an event, although some events do have Pokemon that are exclusive to lure modules. However, the special lures, Glacial, Mossy, Magnetic and Rainy, all have their own unique pools of Pokemon, and spawn a combination of these unique spawns and normal spawns. The special lures can also be used… [Continue Reading]

Galarian Birds and Master Balls

One of my favourite things in Pokemon GO is free things. In this case, I am talking about the Daily Incense. Upon using the Daily Incense, for 15 minutes, you get one spawn a minute, assuming you are moving. The spawns are generally similar to whatever Pokemon are currently spawning, so if there’s an event, you get event spawns, if there’s no event, it’s just normal stuff. However, there are three incredibly rare prizes to be won. When your Daily Incense is on, there is a chance for one of the three Galarian Birds to spawn. The Galarian Birds are… [Continue Reading]

15 Minutes of Pokemon GO Adventures

Recently, a new type of incense was added to Pokemon GO. This little blue incense doesn’t last very long, but if you go on a little walk, then you can catch some nice Pokemon. It’s called a Daily Adventure Incense, and it is a neat little addition, especially since you get a free one every day. 15 minutes of luring Pokemon to you. The incense is pretty simple. It spawns a Pokemon a minute, if you are walking or otherwise moving. So you get 15 Pokemon at most, assuming you catch them all. However, I find I mostly just shiny… [Continue Reading]

This New, Blue Daily Incense is Pretty Cool

Pokemon GO is best played in a town or city that has lots of Pokestops. Lots of Pokestops means lots of Pokemon to be caught. Some Pokestops turn into gyms, which teams battle over for control. However, the further you travel away from a city, the less Pokemon you find and the amount of Pokestops and gyms swiftly decreases. Often to the point that nothing spawns. Basically, if you live somewhere too rural, Pokemon GO can be nigh unplayable. There have been attempts to fix Pokemon GO for rural players. One of the earlier ones was allowing players at level… [Continue Reading]

Why Would Anyone Nerf Incense in Pokemon GO?

After the Johto Tour and the Season of Heritage faded away, something went wrong. Incense, one of the most accessible premium items in Pokemon GO, was nerfed. In fact, Incense had actually returned to its previous state, before COVID and all that. Why did this happen? I have no idea. But no matter how you look at Incense, it’s definitely not in a good spot any more. Pre-Pandemic Problems Before the pandemic, Incense wasn’t a particularly good item. It lasted half an hour and spawned a Pokemon every 5 minutes or so, based on how fast you were going. If… [Continue Reading]

Lures VS Incense in Pokemon GO

Not everyone lives in a massive city with hundreds or even thousands of Pokestops. Some places, like where I live, have small pockets of high density Pokestops, but trail off quite quickly. Other places have pretty much nothing when it comes to Pokestops, and rely solely on one tiny spawn point, or the daily spawn of one Pokemon. Luckily though, there is a way or two that you can force Pokemon to spawn. If you have a Pokestop nearby, you can deploy a Lure module on it, and Pokemon will spawn at the Pokestop one at a time, as long… [Continue Reading]

A Mareep Incense Event

Incense events are weird. All the spawns around you stay the same. In fact, the only difference is that Incense spawns different Pokemon, sometimes changing what spawns based on what time it is. There’s no research to go alongside the incense, it’s just throw the incense on and hope you catch a shiny. This Mareep event is no different. In this event, we get electric spawns and dragon spawns. Because Mareep’s final evolution, Ampharos, has appeared in Mega Raids. And Mega Ampharos is an electric/dragon type. As part of this Incense event, you can evolve a Flaafy into an Ampharos… [Continue Reading]
