Windows and Its Damned Forced Actions

Windows is an asshole. Windows 10 in particular is an asshole. To the point that I wish we could all just go back to Windows XP or whatever. But it’s not just any asshole. It’s an asshole that does things without asking you about it. While I am writing this article, I am supposed to be working. I have a bunch of stuff that needs doing, from website updates to artwork for labels and swing tickets. Right now, I can’t do any of that. Why? Because I had the audacity to leave a particular external hard drive plugged into my… [Continue Reading]

Yet Another 5 Things I’d Like to See in Pokemon Go

There’s always lots of little things that could do with improvements in Pokemon Go and I’m always stumbling across more. So, keeping in the spirits of aabicus’s original article about items and my own desired quality of life features (some of which actually got added, like quicker appraisals, here are yet 5 more things I’d like to see in Pokemon Go. Keeping the Shorter Raid Egg Timers Because of current events involving tier 5 raids with multiple Legendary Pokemon, there has been a stark change in raid timers. Instead of waiting an hour to see what’s inside a raid, the… [Continue Reading]

Quick Thoughts on Borderlands 3

Ages ago, I considered doing a series of reviews on games based on the first half an hour of gameplay and nothing more. I never really got around to it because of just how varied that half an hour can be, and I was never really sure what rules to have. Should it be 30 minutes of straight gameplay only? Should I include troubleshooting and cut scenes? I never knew,so I never did it. But it was something I also considered doing with Borderlands 3. Anyway, after many troubles trying to obtain Borderlands 3, I finally have the game installed… [Continue Reading]

Not Feeling the Speed – More Thoughts on Gauss

I’ve been playing Gauss, leveling him up for both mastery and the more obvious reasons of getting him to level 30, but I’ll be honest, I’ve been struggling. I’m just not feeling Gauss and his speedy ways. I find myself not really enjoying playing as Gauss. While that might not be surprising to you, it feels somewhat surprising to me. Because normally I like speedy Warframes. I mean, my favourite Warframe is Volt, the original speedy Warframe, and he’s followed by frames like Nehza, Khora and Rhino, two of whom have speed boosts and one of which has a charge… [Continue Reading]

An Adorable Mess of Mutated Infectious Tissue

Helminth Chargers are weird. They’re Kubrows but they’re not Kubrows. They are weirdly cute, infested monstrosities made by squeezing a pink and grey zit on your Warframe onto a Kubrow egg and then incubating said egg. They shouldn’t exist, but they do. But what do these weird mutant dog-like beings actually do? To be honest, I’m not sure. The two breeds of Kavats we have both have a use – one gives huge crit buffs and the other gives random buffs at entirely the wrong times. The other breeds of Kubrow all do various things, even if those various things… [Continue Reading]

On Never Streaming

I’ve always kinda wanted to stream. Whether it be streaming video games or doing art, the idea of showing what you are doing, recording your actions and people wandering in and saying hi and talking to you all sound very nice. You end up making friends and maybe even building a community. Heck, you don’t even need to have anyone watching your streams, you can just stream yourself playing games and talking to some guy in the background in Spanish, not caring that no one is actually there, doing a 30 minute survival mission with three squad mates that are… [Continue Reading]

A Really Stupid Article About Pokemon Types

This is going to sound dumb, so bear with me. There are too many Pokemon types. Like, way too many. To the point that some of them are overlapping each other. And honestly? It might be cool to see a Pokemon type shake up in the future, so I’m just gonna go with this. Really, I don’t even have a place to stand when it comes to Pokemon and Pokemon types and balancing and all that. My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Go where the only real meta is “high attack and a type that’s super effective” and I had… [Continue Reading]

More on Warframe Armour Sets

I mentioned the other day how the Lodestar Armour Bundle looked really cool but annoyingly floated in mid air rather than being connected to your Warframe’s body, but frankly that article has gone and opened up a can of worms and 500 word rambles. The armour in Warframe is kinda weird and ill-fitting and quite often not armour at all. Let’s take the Avia armour set. Which amazingly has THREE variants: normal, prisma and solstice. But none of these pieces would provide actual armour, they’re just little shiny bits that hang off our arms and legs. There’s no protection to… [Continue Reading]

It’s Not Pay To Win, It’s Pay To Save Time

An article on a different gaming website has brought up the question whether Warframe is Pay to Win or not, and frankly everyone is arguing over the nuance of the question, about what ways Warframe is or is not Pay to Win. First off though, we have to define Pay to Win. The phrase generally implies that you can spend money to get an advantage over your team mates, but there are variations of this. Can you buy things in Warframe that you can’t obtain by playing that affect gameplay and give you an advantage? Not really, no, all Warframes… [Continue Reading]

On New Gyms and Pokestops

Pokestops and are the lifeblood of Pokemon Go, probably more so than the Pokemon that spawn at random around them. After all, if you don’t have Pokestops, you can’t get Pokeballs to catch Pokemon with, and gyms are both a way to earn coins and do raids. But while Niantic has been very slowly rolling out a way for level 40 Pokemon Go accounts to submit suggestions for Pokestops, what actually determines what is or isn’t a Pokestop is up to Niantic and people who play Ingress. Ingress is Niantic’s other flagship game, alongside that strange Harry Potter game they… [Continue Reading]
