Cetus Wisps are Cunts

Cetus Wisps. I hate them. I hate the little floating fuckers. They’re small and annoying and they seem to be required for fucking everything on the Plains of Eidolon. Most loot in the game is somewhat easy to farm, or at least is there to be found, and doesn’t play tricks on you or anything. How do you farm Cetus Wisps? You run around the Plains of Eidolon, following the edges of specific ponds and lakes, hoping that they spawn. They’ll appear as an icon on your minimap if you have Loot Detector, Animal Instinct or Thief’s Wit. They are… [Continue Reading]

Farming for Kuva

Farming for Kuva is one of the most tedious things in Warframe ever. There are few things on the same level as Kuva farming. Defection and the Infested Salvage mission to farm for Nidus mostly. But at least the reward of getting Nidus is totally worth it, and once you have that lone Harrow part, you can ignore Defection completely. The farm for Ivara might be tedious but Spy missions are always good to learn, considering they’re common in Sorties. Kuva though, it’s a resource in multiple weapons and you need a TON of it for re-rolling riven mods. Kuva… [Continue Reading]

On The New Kuva Survival

As soon as the update hit, I knew exactly what would happen. People coming out in droves screaming that this “Kuva in the Kuva Fortress” mission doesn’t give enough Kuva and that it’s not very good and that DE should be ashamed of themselves. That was exactly what happened. That and a few bugs – Kuva not being saved to your inventory at the end of the mission and being unable to farm more Kuva, but I think they’ve been ironed out already. The mission is simple. On Taveuni, the Survival mission on the Kuva Fortress, enemies can now drop… [Continue Reading]

On Mastery Tests

I hate Mastery Tests. You need to do one every time you level up your Mastery Rank. The tests range from anything between “do this super short obstacle course” to “kill a bunch of enemies without dying using just one weapon type” to “stealth kill all these enemies who cause you to lose a life should they even catch a glimpse of you and you’re not allowed anything but a melee weapon, no abilities either.” There’s one for every rank, from Mastery Rank 1 to Mastery Rank 25, with new mastery ranks and tests being released when there’s enough items… [Continue Reading]

Prime Access is Too Expensive

I don’t normally have a lot of major complaints about Warframe, but with the current Unvaulting of Frost, Loki and Ember Prime, I feel this needs to be said. Prime Access is way too fucking expensive. As it stands right now, there are four Prime Access packs available. The first three contain a Primed Warframe, a couple of Primed weapons and a handful of Primed Accessories, the accessories only being available from these Prime Access packs. You also get 90 day boosters of some sort and a handful of Platinum to spend on what you want. The last pack contains… [Continue Reading]

On Being a Massive Coward

I like to think that I’d be a great NPC for a game like Skyrim. A coward of a person who asks the protagonist to go and fetch some insane item for them because there’s no way they’ll ever be able to obtain it themselves. Then, when danger rears its ugly head, I stand in a corner failing to hit it with my bow and arrows, then panic and run away. On the plus side, at least I’d pay you for your hard work. I’m a coward. I don’t like taking risks. I’ll let the strong ones deal with the… [Continue Reading]

On Trials and Giving Veteran Warframe Players Something To Do

The other day I wrote an article talking about how Trials in Warframe sucked, but they shouldn’t be removed. The thing is, I didn’t really explain in detail why the two Trials, the Law of Retribution and the Jordas Verdict, both sucked. And at the same time, I didn’t really explain why people do them, despite their suckiness. There are two problems here: the tedium involved in Trials, and the lack of things for veteran players to do. Trials, these days, are one of the small number of things veterans can do on a regular basis. There’s Trials, Sorties, Eidolon… [Continue Reading]

Not At All Dragon-y in any Way

Chroma is not a dragon. He’s a weird, ugly thing that wears the skin of a ‘dragon’ made out of the same stuff Sentients are made out of. He’s a dragon only in the loosest sense of the word. Chroma is a weird, ugly mess of a Warframe and I don’t understand him. Of course, what I don’t understand, I don’t like. Looks-wise, Chroma is horrible. He’s lumpy and ugly. He doesn’t have wings. He has lumps on his back where wings are supposed to go. He has a fat spade of a tail. He looks wrinkly and horrible. Luckily,… [Continue Reading]

Workshop Irritation

I used to visit the TF2 Workshop a lot. Back when I first went there, going through the Workshop queue is a joy. Sure, there are some cosmetic submissions that are just lazy, some are stupid, and some made me lose hope in humanity. But a lot of them are interesting, and some of them are jaw-droppingly fantastic. There are also some that made me genuinely angry at Valve for not adding them into the game. Why aren’t you adding Aristotle into the game Valve? It’s the best pet cosmetic for the Spy I’ve ever seen! Get lost, Backstabber’s Boomslang.… [Continue Reading]

Minecraft – A Balancing Act Between Too Much and Too Little

There’s something about Minecraft these days that I can’t just put my finger on. Something annoying. Something slightly tedious. This little something raised its ugly head while I was playing Minecraft with a buddy of mine. He was roaming around a field after a hard night fighting creepers and zombies, he ran into a zombie wearing a helmet. That helmet had the magical ability to stop that zombie from catching fire and keeling over. I later discovered that there are random zombies exclusive to deserts that can survive during the day. Great, I thought, yet more reasons to never bother… [Continue Reading]
