An Addiction to the Jump Key

If you have been browsing the Daily SPUF for a while, you may have noticed that our chief editor hates anything to do with parkour, platforming and jumping puzzles. Before any sort of parkour can be done, there’s always some hesitation. After all, most games kill you if you fall into a pit. However, despite my uneasy parkour ‘skills’ (I am not skilled in any way), there’s something odd about how I play video games. I rarely have my feet firmly planted on the ground. In fact, when I move around, I probably jump too much. But why? Why am… [Continue Reading]

Sick of Space Kids

I’m gonna be honest. As much as I like Warframe, I really, really dislike anything to do with my Operator. The initial reveal of Operators was great. They sat in their special chair and we could ignore them for a bit. But pretty much every update or quest since keeps on pushing Operators further and further. And it’s getting harder to avoid using Operators. These days, you can’t really get past them. Operators become a fancy new requirement for, well, most new updates. The War Within was an obvious sequel to the Second Dream, but it’s only gotten worse from… [Continue Reading]

On Energy Drinks

I like the odd energy drink. My favourite energy drink is a brand imported from various places in Europe. Even here in little Cyprus, we actually have a bunch of different brands on the shelves, which rotate in the shops. There are plenty of better and healthier drinks available, but for a treat, I like to get an energy drink. A different source of caffeine Funnily enough, I don’t drink coffee. Coffee is the national drink that most people drink. Not just normal coffee either. Coffee shops are where Cypriots regularly congregate, and they’ll have everything from fancy lattes to… [Continue Reading]

At What Point Do I Become a Veteran in Video Games?

As a human being, I don’t have much self-confidence. It’s something I have struggled with for a while, both online and offline. Today, I am mostly looking at the online side of things. Because I have almost no self-confidence when it comes to games. When I used to play PvP stuff, I was rarely ever pleased with myself. Mostly because I always played as a support. Mainly just Medic in TF2, but also in other games I dabbled with. The reason I played support was always two-fold. Firstly, no one else wants to play support most of the time, but… [Continue Reading]

When Writers’ Block Attacks

Today, I am going to write about Writers’ Block. Because, somewhat ironically, I have a massive problem with Writers’ Block currently. Turns out, writing 500 words a day every day can only go on for so long. I was bound to get burnt out eventually. However, I’m still trying and I haven’t given up yet. So how am I coping? Eh, I’ve felt better. Got no energy. Normally, in a day, I have time to write something. Generally my writing is done in the evening, after work. But so far, 2022 has been keeping me quite busy, to the point… [Continue Reading]

Probably the Worst Timed Research Ever

Just before the Johto tour event, Pokemon GO had a “restocking” event where we could save up Pokeballs for the upcoming tour. Called the Poké Ball Prep Rally, it is designed to give you plenty of Pokeballs. The bonuses of this event were that your buddy would bring extra Pokeballs as gifts and some ball-shaped Pokemon were spawning. Oh, and this event also included probably the worst Timed Research I’ve ever seen. 100% NOT WORTH IT! The timed research for this prep rally were as follows: Spin Pokestops, send gifts and open research tasks. Do those three once, then do… [Continue Reading]

A Ramble About Pockets

One of my most favourite pieces of clothing that I own is a long-sleeved black top with white stars on it. I have no idea where this top came from, but I’ve owned it for several years now. The nicest thing about this top though? It has pockets. A pocket on each side, not always noticeable. Sure, those pockets aren’t the deepest, nor do they have a way of being sealed. But when it comes to putting something temporarily in said pockets, it’s so nice that my starry top can help. Unfortunately though, the rest of my wardrobe mostly lacks… [Continue Reading]

Please Don’t Put Balls in Bundles and Boxes

After wasting a bunch of hard-earns coins in Pokemon GO, I haven’t really been looking that the boxes in the Pokemon GO shop. Normally, I’d have very little coins because I’d spend them all on raid passes. But raids have been unappealing lately, so I finally got myself 480 coins, ready to buy something nice. The Pokemon GO shop has got various useful things within it, and mostly works as a “pay to go faster” shop than anything else. For example, if you have eggs you want to hatch, then get super incubators and hatch eggs quickly. Or just do… [Continue Reading]

What sort of ‘end game’ do people even want?

Warframe contains a lot of content. From cramped exterminate missions to the fresh air of Cetus, all the way to space in our Railjacks, there is a LOT to do. Yet somehow, for some people, that doesn’t seem to be enough. Veteran players complain all the time that there isn’t much to do. They believe that Warframe has no end game content. But what even is end game content? The term ‘end game content’ is a very nebulous one. Players are looking for new content to challenge themselves, or, just in general, they want something to do after they’ve played… [Continue Reading]

Winging Cakes

Baking is a hobby of mine, but it’s a somewhat recent one. My desire to cook more increased when I moved out, because, well, I couldn’t just eat noodles. No matter how much I like them. However, baking is an even more recent new hobby, one that appeared as I moved apartments, and wanted something sweet to eat. Problem is, I like sweet things, like cakes and muffins. And if I buy them from a shop, I’d be even fatter than I am now. As an alternative, I started baking my own cakes, so I can control how much sugar… [Continue Reading]
