Little Things I Want in the Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves is already a game brimming with content, but there’s always some little things that I want to see in the game. Little things that would boost player morale. Tons more clothes and facial hair Sea of Thieves already has a fuckton of cosmetics. However, most of those cosmetics generally quite… captain-y. Most players tend to look pretty fancy, or they are basically naked while showing off tattoos. But there’s very little left in the middle. Pirate gear that pirates would actually wear. Years back, there was a clothing leak that would have fixed this issue entirely. And… [Continue Reading]

Sea of Thieves with the Siblings for the first time

Up until Christmas, I only really ever played Sea of Thieves with my great friend Bacxaber. Together, we’d sail the seas, kicking ass and getting tons of loot. The problem was, because of time zones, I’d have to stay up super late in order to play. Also, there’s a massive skill difference between Bacxaber’s level of play and my own. He’s a PvP master while I’m slow and only really know the basics. But over the Christmas break, I was gladly informed that my sister and her boyfriend had both purchased Sea of Thieves. So of course we had to… [Continue Reading]

I Don’t Get Close Quarters Combat in the Sea of Thieves

In the Sea of Thieves, I’ve managed to do a fair amount of learning. Despite my few hours, there are plenty of things I have learned, making me not completely useless. I’m good on the cannons and I’m also getting better at steering the ship. However, there is one place that I fall down, and that’s close quarters combat. I don’t know why, I just don’t get it. The concept is simple enough. Get into close range and then either hit them with a sword or shoot them with the blunderbuss. If you do this correctly, the pirate standing in… [Continue Reading]

The Power of Sloops

When you are off sailing in the Sea of Thieves, what would you think is the best ship to use? Surely the galleon, with its impressive size and cannons, right? Or what about the brig, with its sleeker body and less levels to repair? Nope, not at all. The best ship in the Sea of Thieves is the humble sloop. By quite a lot. But why is the sloop so powerful? Oh, there are many reasons. Some of which are quite surprising. Speed and movement are everything Sloops are small ships, but they can really travel. Their smaller, sleeker bodies… [Continue Reading]

How to Not Join an Alliance in the Sea of Thieves

An alliance in the Sea of Thieves can be both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes, you can get super lucky with everyone getting along and getting a share of all the money. Other times, one ship does all the work and the others just plod along in the background. Sometimes an alliance can fall apart due to arguments or friendly fire. But having an alliance can offer a tiny bit of safety. After all, there is safety in numbers. This article goes completely against what I just said. This is is how NOT to join an alliance. Ignore people… [Continue Reading]

A Pirate Game With Not Many Pirate Clothes

There’s something odd about Sea of Thieves and its cosmetics. A huge part of the game is to go on adventures and quests, getting rich and doing pirate-y things. All of this gets you plenty of gold, which you can then spend on cosmetics. And, bloody hell, there are a LOT of cosmetics. Not just clothing, there are skins and sets for all your tools, weapons and companions as well. But we are lacking in normal pirate gear. You know, the striped shirts, the bandanas, the more basic clothes. What you’d see in kids TV shows. There are some pieces… [Continue Reading]

Why The Reaper’s Bones are my Favourite Faction in Sea of Thieves

There are several different factions in Sea of Thieves, and most of them are tied to outposts or the Pirate Lord. We have people who collect skulls, pirates that hoard all the gold they can get their hands on, and we also have merchants, who like to either ship things or send you off to find lost shipments. On top of those, we have the Hunter’s Call, who will buy any fish you happen to have, and Athena’s Fortune, who are tied to the Pirate Lord and offer various voyages to Pirate Legends. However, not all factions are equal. For… [Continue Reading]

DeMarco – The Lost Son of the so-called Pirate Lord

I don’t normally dig too deep into  Sea of Thieves lore. The reason I’m even on the Sea of Thieves is because of treasure and guilt-free murder. But there is some background lore going on, and as we rush into season 8, things are really heating up. So, in order to keep up, I’ve been kinda looking at the lore and, well, it’s kinda sad. The basic premise of the Sea of Thieves is that a guy called Ramsey called himself the Pirate Lord, and he uses some artifacts to keep the Sea of Thieves separate from both the rest… [Continue Reading]

Sea of Thieves Season 8 Is the Best Update Ever

In the Sea of Thieves, there’s always been a bit of a struggle between people who want PvE and people who want PvP. In previous seasons, this has mostly been random. You can’t tell if someone wants a fight until you’re already in one. While the Battle Flag and playing as Reaper’s Bones emissaries is one way to show that you want to fight, you can’t guarantee that anyone wants to fight you back. Season 8 flips this all on its head. Finally, there is now a way to get a guaranteed fight with someone else who also wants a… [Continue Reading]

What If There Was A 5+ Ship in Sea of Thieves?

One of the downsides of Sea of Thieves is that it’s a sea. A wide open space with the odd ship bobbing on it. Normally, you’ll get like 4-6 ships in a single server, and it’s quite possible to spend all day sailing and only run into one other ship. At the same time, that one other ship you see is probably a coward running away from you, making things feel a whole lot emptier. Even running into the odd galleon that wants to murder you can also seem pretty empty once either you or the galleon has sunk. The… [Continue Reading]
