5 Old Facts about the 3 Starter Frames

The three starter Warframes are old. Excalibur, Mag and Volt are among the original 8 Warframes that were in the game on release and they’re the three options you choose from, should you create a new account and start from the beginning. But each of these Warframes has a long and colourful history, most of which is forgotten these days. So here are six ancient facts about our three favourite starter Warframes. Their blueprint locations have been all over the place While Mag has pretty much always been the drop from the Sergeant, Volt and Excalibur have been a bit… [Continue Reading]

What if I were to rework Volt?

A while back, I wrote two very silly articles on silly rewords for both Vauban and Ember, two Warframes who are currently struggling to, well, be Warframes. Unfortunately, Digital Extremes didn’t go with any of my ideas and I really don’t blame them – after all, I am neither a game designer nor someone who actually plays Vauban or Ember. Both are important when it comes to reworking a Warframe’s abilities. However, there is one frame I play well and know almost as well as the back of my hand: Volt. Now, Volt doesn’t actually need reworking in any way.… [Continue Reading]

The Actual Speedster Warframe – Does He Threaten Other Speedsters?

I don’t normally talk about Warframes that haven’t been released yet because I like to play them before I judge them. That’s not the case with Gauss, the speedster Warframe. While his best friend Grendel, the oni Warframe who is set to be released at the same time as Gauss, seems pretty cute and not at all deadly, a lot of people have been wondering whether Gauss will be stepping on the toes of existing Warframes, most notably speedster Warframes like Volt, Nezha and Zephyr. The question is, will he be a straight upgrade? Will he leave other Warframes in… [Continue Reading]

The One Forma Volt (Prime) Nuke Build

My All-Rounders Volt build, in my opinion, is a good one. I take it everywhere and it mostly gets the job done, providing enough power strength to make Speed and Shock usable while also keeping Discharge and Electric Shield viable as well. But sometimes you just need everything to die, and right now this is where Volt also shines, because of how Discharge works. Discharge does more damage by bouncing to and from enemies. This means that you need high range to be able to make Discharge bounce between more and more enemies. But the bouncing only lasts for so… [Continue Reading]

The One Forma Generalist Volt Build

I’ve often prided myself with getting to MR26 and not having stuck a Forma in any of my Warframes, but when a recent update brought out dual energy colours, I kinda had to forma some of my Warframes, in the name of Fashion. And the first person to get a Forma of course was my beloved Volt Prime. But that got me thinking. I’d had a zero Forma build for a long time. In fact, I had posted about this a while back in my Everyday Volt Build, which uses no Forma and works both on Volt and Volt Prime.… [Continue Reading]

A Bunch of Reasons Why You Should Go Farm for Volt Prime Right Now

Volt Prime got released from the Prime Vault alongside Loki Prime on April 30th and I’ve already gone and started farming relics for him. And you should be out there, blitzing around the Void, farming relics and getting yourself a Volt Prime as well! Why? Here’s why! 1. Volt Prime is a Straight Upgrade! As much as I love Volt, his base stats are really, really bad. Low energy and non-existent armour make him insanely squishy. Volt Prime on the other hand has one of the highest energy pools in the game, literally double what Volt has! As for armour?… [Continue Reading]

“A Potent Alternative to Gunplay”

“This is a high-damage Warframe perfect for players looking for a potent alternative to gunplay” is part of the flavour text for when you preview Volt, either in the Warframe market or via the codex. But for the longest of times, this sentence was completely wrong. Firstly, when it comes to high damage, Volt actually kinda lacked in that. It wasn’t until Update 22.12, when two new Eidolons were released and we could steal Dargyns from the Grineer, that Volt’s damage was uncapped. Before then, most of Volt’s abilities actually didn’t do much damage at all, and his main damage… [Continue Reading]

Why Khora, Ivara and Volt?

I’ll be honest, I really, really liked Medicinal Warlock’s series of articles on why he plays various TF2 classes. I actually considered doing something similar, but frankly 1. I didn’t want to copy him directly, 2. his reasons for playing each class are actually pretty similar to mine already (especially Pyro…) and 3. I’ve actually already written various articles on why I play various classes. In fact, we’ve had other people write articles on TF2 classes as well. I’ll just do an article about Warframe choices then. Because why not. So yeah, I really like three frames in particular. Long… [Continue Reading]

The All-Rounders Volt Build, by an Everyday Volt Main

Volt makes up 50% of my total playtime in Warframe. I know him mostly inside out, from his weird two pairs of eyes to his little butt-cape. I regularly take Volt into lots of things and somehow manage to stay alive even when everyone else around me is dying. I honestly think it’s time to go through my build and how I manage to take him everywhere, from Kuva Fortress Assault to Sortie Defense, and not be totally useless. In hindsight, this might be because I am simply so used to playing Volt that I know his strengths and weaknesses.… [Continue Reading]

Why Volt is one of the Best Warframes…

… Well, in my opinion of course. It seems that a lot of people see Volt as a bad frame in desperate need of a rework. I don’t think that’s needed. Just because one frame doesn’t have its own niche or isn’t the best ever at a specific thing, doesn’t mean that they’re bad. Probably just in need of some tweaks, like reverting the halved duration on Discharge. He’s Versatile Sure, Volt’s not the strongest frame, but you can take him anywhere. He’s useful in Capture and Exterminate missions, giving the team a speed boost to get the mission done… [Continue Reading]
