Syndicates Are Full of Idiots!

Unlike most MMOs and RPGs and all that, guilds in Warframe are filled with bossy NPCs who sit in their silly places in relays and absolutely hate each other. Rather than being groups based on how you play, like a Fighters’ Guild or a Mages’ Guild, or more akin to jobs like the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood, the Syndicates are all political groups who hate almost anyone. The only people they have time for are Tenno who pledge themselves and donate money to them. The way Syndicates work is kinda weird. At first, you have neutral standing with… [Continue Reading]

Holy fucking Shit – TennoCon 2017

So July 8th 2017 was the date of the second TennoCon, basically a Warframe convention hosted in London, Ontario, Canada, where Digital Extremes do tons of cool Warframe stuff. Like last year, they ended the convention with a live, streamed section where they talk to the audience, answer questions and reveal upcoming stuff. This stuff included things like the next Primed Warframe, which will be Hydroid Prime (which looks pretty neat); the next Warframe to be released, a currently unnamed ‘Glass’ Warframe with an exalted weapon and shapeshifting abilities; and a set of new Tennogen (i.e. Steam store) items, including… [Continue Reading]

So What the Fuck is Warframe’s Actual Story?

Yeah there’s a story in Warframe. It’s a thing. It’s a weird, confusing, messed up thing. Warframe’s lore is only something you can actually figure out if you sit down and listen to what all these floating heads are telling you while you slaughter dime-a-dozen enemies, or while you’re fiddling about with your mods and browsing the market and all that. No one’s really paying attention though, and with quests being not only scattered throughout the star chart, but also only a handful of them being replayable, the average person probably won’t get it right off the bat. And on… [Continue Reading]

On Trapping Enemies in Sand, Slowly Consuming Them and Replacing Them with Sand-Covered Clones

After about an eternity of holding off, I finally caved and spent 100 Ducats (pronounced DUCK-ats) and some money on the quest Sands of Inaros. This quest, the only one purchase-able from Baro Ki’Teer, is a quest in which you discover who the hell Inaros is. As you wander through an abandoned Mars community, you find a rather nice temple with gigantic statues of Inaros in it, as well as some fancy urns. The quest is overall really good. It’s not really a standard quest, and in fact it’s actually really short in comparison with other quests. The urns that… [Continue Reading]

An Autistic Space Kid – The Chains of Harrow Update

So the Chains of Harrow update is here, on time and chock-block full of stuff. Earth got remastered, melee weapon Riven Mods are now a thing, there’s a new update, a ton of QOL changes, raids being broken again and a new quest. I’m just going to talk about the quest, because a lot of this stuff would be better off in their own articles. Just so you know, tons of spoilers ahead. But it was obvious from the update page alone that the subject of this quest, Rell, was autistic. Couldn’t have made it more obvious if they’d tried.… [Continue Reading]

The Amazon Prime/Twitch Prime Trial is really damn hard to get

Editor’s note: The Twitch Prime offer has been extended multiple times. Unfortunately the extra Frost Prime didn’t make it, he got sold to make room for Nidus. Turned out forma’ing the aura slot wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. There is currently a second offer, giving you a free Soma Prime and Scindo Prime. Also this article is somewhat out of date as Twitch and Amazon have streamlined the free trial process, it now works much better. Editor’s second note: This offer is no longer available. Sorry about that. But luckily there’s some free weapon codes floating… [Continue Reading]

A Debacle about Data Mining

Just before the release of several updates – the new Warframe Harrow, the opening of the Void Vault for Mag and Rhino Prime and their yearly Tennocon, Digital Extremes’ lawyers got very jumpy and sent what was essentially a cease and desist letter to VoiD_Glitch, the main person behind the data mining of Warframe. VoiD_Glitch has removed the public GitHub repository for his data mining stuff. This has caused a huge uproar in the more knowledgeable parts of the Warframe community. Now everyone is pissed off, shouting and screaming that they can’t trust the developers with their own game, and… [Continue Reading]

Magical Sword-Wielding Maniac Space Ninja Poster Children

In my earliest Warframe ramblings, I always mentioned that I was never a fan of Excalibur, the poster child of Warframe. He just seemed too loved by everyone else, and in my nonsensical ways, I tend to dislike things that are loved by everyone else. Plus, being a newbie, I found myself playing with a lot of Excaliburs, while my little Volt would just trail behind them. They were everywhere, with their weird, overly basic looks and their complete lack of eyes. My discontent for Excalibur continued until I decided one day to go and fight Ambulas, the boss on… [Continue Reading]

Random ideas for Warframe that aren’t enough to make a whole article out of.

I am not an ideas person. I have little ideas but never do much else with them. And 99% of the time, my ideas are not enough to write an entire article about, unless it’s that weird Medi Gun I suggested a while back. So today, after browsing on the not-quite-as-circlejerky-as-the-official-forums place known as r/warframe, I decided to just write my ideas down in a giant lump and leave the rest of you to deal with them. An Upgrade Foundry Component The pet-breeding area in your ship has an upgrade component which stops your mutant cats and dogs from dying,… [Continue Reading]

Super Shiny Warframe Guns

There are two big things in Warframe – getting lots of guns and loot, and making yourself and your guns look fabulous. To aid in both, there are a handful of special weapons that crop up every so often, styled after various aspects of Warframe, one of which was released in the Ambulas Reborn event. The weapon in question is the Supra Vandal. It’s a shiny version of the Supra, with extra ammo. Extra shiny weapons always tend to have a very slight buff, or perhaps a buff to one stat and a nerf to another. The Supra Vandal is… [Continue Reading]
