Holy fucking Shit – TennoCon 2017

So July 8th 2017 was the date of the second TennoCon, basically a Warframe convention hosted in London, Ontario, Canada, where Digital Extremes do tons of cool Warframe stuff. Like last year, they ended the convention with a live, streamed section where they talk to the audience, answer questions and reveal upcoming stuff. This stuff included things like the next Primed Warframe, which will be Hydroid Prime (which looks pretty neat); the next Warframe to be released, a currently unnamed ‘Glass’ Warframe with an exalted weapon and shapeshifting abilities; and a set of new Tennogen (i.e. Steam store) items, including… [Continue Reading]

Eat at Panda Express Today and Get a Chork!

Today is General Tso’s birthday, and to honor that fact Panda Express is giving away a free chork with every purchase! While chopstick-forks have appeared in culinary history before today, Panda will be the first chain to introduce them to the mainstream audience, and their marketing tools insist they ‘invented’ it so presumably they’re using something of a new model. In a statement to First We Feast, Panda explained their rationale for the new silverware: “Chorks were introduced to the public during the launch of the dish yesterday.┬áThe tool is a perfect way to illustrate the mashup of American and… [Continue Reading]

Panda Express announces new dish

Panda Express pulled out the works on this new reveal, probably the first time I’ve seen a fast food chain livestream and hype up an addition to their menu. As a diehard Pandaholic (not a real word), I was up and watching as they rolled out the red carpet in their first ever store to announce the new flavor, their first ever Facebook livestream. Then I rushed down to my local Panda Express and gave the new food a try for myself! My opinion? It’s not as flavorful as the orange chicken, and it has a bit of an aftertaste,… [Continue Reading]

On Hype

Gamers have a love/hate relationship with hype. It fuels our soul, keeps us looking to the future and fills our minds with the tantalizing possibilities foreshadowed by either a PR Department or just the words of our online comrades. Sometimes the final product fizzles in the sun, sometimes it handles itself well enough but doesn’t meet hype, and on rare occasion it can exceed everyone’s expectations. But is too much hype a good thing? From a developer’s perspective, it makes sense to try and drum up as much excitement over a product as possible. Your goal is to get people… [Continue Reading]

Competitive Matchmaking Beta is here! Kinda…

Well well well well, looks like those Teamfortress.tvers have found something interesting. It’s a small version of the Competitive Matchmaking Beta! It’s actually a real thing! Turns out a small update yesterday added a console command that enables you to open the Competitive matchmaking menu. The command, for whoever wants to try it, is OpenMatchmakingLobby ladder Typing this into console brings up a new page. It looks like this: Interestingly, it had a bunch of scores, and a drop down box. The box has a choice of either 6v6 or 9v9, which is unusual since everyone thought they’d just do… [Continue Reading]

I know you want to surprise us but…

So over in PAYDAY 2, the developers of the game have gone and announced some rather surprising things, namely microtransactions. Overkill kept this all secret and let it all go as a giant day one surprise for Crimefest. It’s sparked outrage in the community, especially since Overkill originally said they’d never introduce microtransactions on multiple occasions. On top of this, awkward silence has ended up killing the dedicated modding community, particularly ones like GoonMod (since everything was against AI enemies, what your gun looked like never bothered anyone) and PD2STATS, a major community-run site, has shutdown. While PAYDAY 2 explodes… [Continue Reading]

The Gun Mettel Update – Pre Update thoughts

So, um, er… Well… Um… I don’t know what to say. Well, let’s start off with the good stuff. Loch-n-Load and Baby Face’s Blaster are getting nerfed. Holy fuck that is a vast amount of changes. Spy essentially got a rework and Engineer got a lot of changes when it comes to wrenches and jag-whacking. It all seems incredibly ambitious. Huge stuff everywhere. The balance changes seem rather overwhelming. Lots of good and bad there. And there IS bad there. The Vaccinator is now a Uber-and-Leave-Them thing, It’s good that you can’t fuck with Snipers any more. That’ll need testing… [Continue Reading]

Why Smissmas 2014 was disappointing(to me)

I think End of the Line unified the Team Fortress 2 community somewhat: It is almost universally accepted as one of the worst updates in TF2 history. But to me, personally, 2014 brought another, much more disappointing update. And no, it’s not Scream Fortress: It’s actually Smissmas. Why? Well, let’s put it this way: I had exactly zero expectations for End of the Line. Following the statements form McVee saying we’d be lucky if we got 3 weapons, and that they were testing one(which was released during Love & War), and remembering how Robotic Boogaloo went, I thought End of… [Continue Reading]

Tick Tock.

Click naow. Admittedly, I don’t know what this is, since I’ll probably be asleep. What will it be? Bread? Trains? Moons? Moon bases? Train breads? Bread moon trains? Who knows? Either way, it’s a countdown and we’re all hyped! Here’s a few things to think about as this timer counts down: What is it? Will it be good? How many bugs will this possibly introduce? How many threads will there be on SPUF? New weapons? New game mode? Is Team Fortress Classic related to this? Bread? Related posts: A Sudden Flurry Of Content!
