Optimizing the Bot Heisters in Payday 2

Before any other players join your lobby, or if you’ve decided to play solo, you’re going to have three bot heisters helping you throughout your heist. Once upon a time you only got two and they were total garbage. But after multiple updates, Overkill has granted AI heisters their own skills and the ability to wield most guns in the game. Today, we’re covering 5 Tips For Optimising Your Bot Heisters! Starting with number 1, the three best guns to give bots are the Steakout shotgun, the Brenner light-machine gun, and the r93 Sniper rifle. Don’t feel like you have… [Continue Reading]

Tons and Tons and Tons of Shitty Loot

This is going to sound mean, but loot in Borderlands 2 really sucks. It’s awful. It’s annoying as heck. In fact, it’s a large amount of rummaging through crap until you find something half decent. In the early levels of Borderlands 2, that doesn’t matter. The loot is kinda supposed to be shitty since it’s the start of the game and you’re basically scavenging shit. Plus, it makes no sense to give new players stupidly powerful stuff because it’s early doors. The Hyperion weapons chest you open before you get to the first proper area is that bait to continue,… [Continue Reading]

Shotguns

The shotgun is the best FPS weapon for me. My aim really sucks, so sniper rifles and assault rifles are right out. I also like getting up close and personal with people, which means I should stay away from explosives if I want to stay alive and in one piece. Anything that hampers mobility irks me, so I will not be using a minigun or a light machine gun. And I really, really dislike having sustained damage when burst damage is an option, so no SMGs for me. Thus, the shotgun is the only option left for me that isn’t… [Continue Reading]

5 Payday Akimbos Every Player Should Try

Last week MoustachedPotatoes and ‘uh’ requested a video covering akimbo weapons, since they, and myself have trouble telling them all apart. I confess that for the most part I just use the Akimbo STRYKs for everything, but after some research, I’ve learned about other builds that favor specific akimbos. So today we’re covering 5 Akimbo Weapons Every Player Should Try #1 – The Parabellum pistols can hit 32 concealment, the highest possible for non-DLC players. This is pretty great considering the amazing damage output. Speaking of damage output: #2 – The Goliath shotguns will probably never be as famous as… [Continue Reading]

5 Ways to Farm Weapon Parts in Payday 2

Every heister remembers the early days, so many awesome-looking weapon mods like laser sights and specific scopes that you’d totally use if the game would just drop them already. You’ll unlock everything eventually, but if you ever want to get serious about farming out weapon mods, there are a few ways to speed the process up a bit. Here are 5 Ways to Farm Weapon Mods Quickly! 1 – Before you start farming cards, strip any attachments from weapons you own and don’t care about. The game will stop dropping any specific mod after you already have two unused in… [Continue Reading]

The UMP Strikes Back

Recently, I got the chance to play PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, the battle royale simulator that took the entire FPS community by storm and beat King of the Kill at its own game. I played on my friend’s account, and earned a single kill in my first (and as of this writing, only) round: I’m not gonna lie, that’s the reason I’m writing an article about the UMP right now. The Heckler & Koch Universale Maschinenpistole was made to serve as a lighter and cheaper alternative to the equally-famous MP5 sold by the same company. It’s known for being extremely moddable, and perhaps that’s why… [Continue Reading]

Satisfactory Shooting: The End

Previously I was talking about how guns should be designed for shooting to feel satisfying. Now, we’ll talk about how the targets need to be designed for the shooting to feel satisfying as well. First up, the environment should have some response when shot. Have brittle objects break, leave scorch marks and bullet holes on the walls, the whole works. It makes the map feels like an actual environment rather than just a static arena, and that helps immersion a lot. Hell, bring down a whole building or two, why not? Of course, the damage created should be proportional to… [Continue Reading]

The Best Starter Weapons in Warframe

There are a handful of starter weapons in Warframe. More than you might think, actually. When you play the opening tutorial, escaping from the clutches of Captain Vor and getting to your ship, you get a basic choice of weaponry, but there are also options in the Market once you’ve completed the tutorial. The first weapons you pick up are a single Primary weapon, Secondary weapon and melee weapon. These are your starter weapons, and you’ll be using them for a while, at the very least until they are level 30. Luckily, melee weapons it doesn’t really matter too much… [Continue Reading]

Customizability: Article #4 – Finale

After talking about the gameplay customization systems in three games I quite enjoy, I suppose it is time to talk about my thoughts on the subject in general. Firstly, it struck me that all of them feature a system which requires you to unlock new weapons/cards/parts/whatever. I personally don’t think it is entirely because of microtransactions, although I am pretty sure that contributes to it. Why I say that is because of this: Even in Alien Swarm and its fan-made expansion Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop features such a mechanic, and those games are completely free with no microtransactions at all. But then,… [Continue Reading]

Customizability: Article #3 – Loadout

… what? Can’t do a bunch of articles about customizing playstyles without mentioning a game that lets you build your own guns. For those severely out of the loop about this game, Loadout is a game where you build your own guns. Aside from that, it features nudity, extreme amounts of gore, crass schoolboy humour, and nudity. It is also completely dead on PC and can only be played on PS4 although it first launched on PC. And I will forever remember the day where the PC servers are shut down with plenty of tears. And bitterness. My own feelings… [Continue Reading]
