What? It’s the 25th of December already? What happened? It felt like it was September about ten minutes ago! And now all of a sudden it’s Christmas? Where the fuck has this year gone?
Well clearly all that time went somewhere. While the rest of the planet has been all over the place and potentially going to shit, at least we have some nice daily video game articles. I definitely kept that promise. Even if WordPress fucked up and didn’t publish an article on the 24th of November until nearly midnight for some reason. Well, it was published but for some reason it didn’t appear on the home page.
In other good news, the Daily SPUF didn’t catch fire, it didn’t explode, nor did it get ransacked by a bunch of hungry TF2 fans who are tired of Warframe articles. We have a nice shiny Silver Wolf who has been writing articles for us and aabicus has produced some very nice games in the mean time. We also got Medicinal Warlock, who has blessed the Daily SPUF with articles for nearly a whole year now. That’s a long time. Even if this year has felt really short. Congrats!
Our viewer count has increased as well. By about 100 views a day. From about 250-300 a day to 300-450 a day. It’s not a huge number, but it’s still a number, right?
Alright, there’s been some downsides, like that day where the SSL certificate expired, but that’s alright. I fixed that.
Since it’s the holidays, I was going to do a nice, traditional Christmas recipe for you, but I don’t really know what everyone likes. So instead I’ve got a brownie cake recipe, the original of which can be seen here.
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups boiling water
Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4/180C/350F.
Mix all the dry stuff up in a bowl. Throw in the liquid stuff apart from the water. Mix well. Add the boiling water and mix really fucking well, making sure it’s not lumpy.
Transfer the mixture into some sort of oven-proof tin, then place that on top of a baking tray just in case the brownie mixture expands and
kills us all leaks everywhere.
Bake for 30-40 minutes. It should be slightly gooey in the middle. Eat while warm. Preferably with ice cream. Chocolate ice cream, not pansy-ass vanilla ice cream like the original recipe suggests.
Anyway, we’ve all been good here. I hope you’ve all been good too! I know this year has been very shitty for some people and great for others, but I hope you’re all doing great and that you have a nice day. And hopefully that you also get a few days off. Oh! And I hope you all get some nice presents.
Happy Smissmas and have a good whatever holiday you’re currently celebrating right now!
Seriously. Have a nice day. And have a nice every day up until December 31st. Then, if I don’t see you then, have a nice 2018.
A nice little fun fact before I go, my mum reads these articles. Sometimes. Normally she just reads the food ones though, since she’s not a gamer. Hi, mum. Merry Christmas.
