The Power That Is The Adaptation Mod

Adaptation is an amazingly powerful mod. It’s a Warframe mod that allows you to adapt to damage that you take for a small amount of time, earning damage resistance in the process. The best way to describe it, really, is with an example. But trust me, it’s a cool mod. So let’s say that I am playing as Nidus and I get shot by a Grineer Lancer. That Lancer does Impact damage to me, so I get 10% Impact damage resistance for a little bit from my Adaptation mod. I get shot again before the Adaptation damage resistance goes away,… [Continue Reading]

The Long, Slow Grind Towards The Next Mastery Rank

Right now, I am about halfway through the master required to reach Mastery Rank 27. If things continue as they are, it will still be a long, long trek until I actually reach MR27. Why? Because there is a lot of stuff that’s simply a pain in the ass to level up. For most weapons, leveling things up is pretty easy. You could probably get to MR16, the maximum rank needed to obtain all weapons in the game, by simply buying weapon blueprints from the shop, building those then leveling up, alongside your normal farming of warframes and relics. Your… [Continue Reading]

My Problem With Star Wars After Episode 6

I’m not as big a nerd and fan of Star Wars as my brother is, but I won’t deny that Star Wars is a cool franchise. A weird mixture between a space opera and a space cowboy shooter film with sword fighting and magic and massive battles. There’s a little something for everyone. There’s even a princess, although I’m not quite sure Leia works as a Disney Princess yet. But while the movies are overall well-received, they do have problems. Weirdly though, most of my issues are with Episodes 7 and 8. I can’t say that they’re bad movies, because,… [Continue Reading]

The Eternal Quest for More Fonts

I have too many fonts. Too, too many fonts. As it stands, I have about 8000 files in my Fonts folder. It has reached a point where the drop down window in Adobe Illustrator no longer works, because I simply have too many fonts. Or it might be because there’s one or two corrupted mods in there somewhere and I’m too lazy to go through all 8000 fonts and find which one it is. These fonts cause issues in other programs too. I can’t change the font in Windows Movie Maker without causing a five minute hang and MS Paint… [Continue Reading]

Nightwave – An Intermission

It seems as though the gap between Nightwave Episode 1 and Nightwave Episode 2 ended up being way, way longer than intended. To the point that it’s been impossible getting decent amounts of Nitain lately. To the point that my leftover Wolf Creds sat in my inventory for ages, until I realised I could sell them for 5,000 credits EACH and made myself a nice 1 million credits. In order to fix this, Nora Night has sent us an Intermission, a short Nightwave event until July 5th, which will keep us stocked up with Nora Creds and a few other… [Continue Reading]

Happy Birthday Excalibur Umbra

Today, 15th June, is the day that the Sacrifice was released and Excalibur Umbra became accessible to pretty much everyone who had been keeping up with quests. Today is the day that we could all get Excalibur Umbra and calm his pain. But the more I think about it, the more I realise just how messed up that whole mess was. The Sacrifice Quest, that is. The Sacrifice involved finding bits of Excalibur Umbra, scanning them and throwing the parts into your foundry to basically resurrect the poor blighter. What’s weird though is that the Operator and Ordis think they’re… [Continue Reading]

The Arguably Auspicious Aura Forma

The Aura Forma is something I never really expected to see in Warframe, but really, after the addition of the Umbral Forma, I shouldn’t be that surprised. I mean, with one new type of Forma, there were guaranteed to be more in the future. Still, the Aura Forma is quite a weird place to start. Aura Formas can currently be obtained in two ways: either as rewards for rare events or as a rare reward in Arbitrations. The Arbitrations version drops as a blueprint that you then have to build, and is actually more expensive than building an Exilus Adapter… [Continue Reading]

Songs That Make Me Stop

I remember being told a story, years ago, about going into a shop and having everyone stop what they were doing because a song came on. Being a story from a long time ago, I don’t remember any of the details, who it was or where they were shopping or why, but I do remember the name of the album that the song was on: Everyone is Here by the Finn Brothers. What I don’t remember is what particular song it was. I think it was Edible Flowers, but here’s the thing – most of the songs on that album… [Continue Reading]

My Own Made Up Holiday

Anyone who has used Facebook has probably seen it. Posts from well-meaning people saying “Happy X Day!” with some sort of semi-related picture. This post is normally followed by a bunch of sponsored posts from some vaguely relevant companies trying to get in on the made up holiday. That X could be anything. Literally anything. Some of them make sense, like a Siblings Day. Some of them are normal holidays blown out of proportion, like Mothers Day and Fathers Day, grabbed by corporations and twisted to make us buy even more things. Okay, they’re already commercial holidays but they get… [Continue Reading]

Splitting That One Free Raid Pass

In Pokemon Go, you get one free Raid Pass a day. That free Raid Pass can be used on whatever raid you want except for EX Raids, which require a special black EX Raid Pass. Once you use the free, orange Raid Pass, most of the time you have to use a Premium Raid Pass to do raids. That would be fine if you regularly buy Premium Passes or are flush with them after finishing the Special Research tasks. After all, it only takes two days of getting a full 50 coins to be able to buy a Raid Pass,… [Continue Reading]
