Why 6-Hour Community Days are Better in Almost Every Way

For reasons unknown, Niantic is trying to make everything in Pokemon GO back to pre-covid conditions. While smaller things like green research tasks and a daily Pokemon are cute and helpful, they’ve been taking away plenty of stuff. Players rallied together to keep the 80m diameter on interactions with Gyms and Pokestops, and Incense has been nuked from orbit. And now Niantic has focused on a new feature that they want to ruin: Community Days. Originally Community Days were okay Before all the Covid stuff, Community Days were mostly the same. Three hours, catching anything that isn’t nailed down, and… [Continue Reading]

Taking a Break from Warframe

After 4000 hours, countless articles and years of running around as a bright yellow Volt, I finally think it’s time I took a proper break from Warframe. Now, normally, I wouldn’t bother telling anyone that I am taking a break, but we get a lot of traffic here on the Daily SPUF that is Warframe-related and normally somewhat up to date. If I’m not playing Warframe though, I can’t be up to date. So I think it’s worth announcing. But anyway, I don’t know how long I won’t be playing for, probably just for a month or so. However I… [Continue Reading]

A Community Day I Completely Forgot About

Did you know that there was a Community Day the other week? On Saturday 21st of May? No? Neither did I. Now, granted, I was pretty occupied with real-life things. But my brother also plays Community Days too, and he forgot about this one as well. For two long-time players of Pokemon GO, this seems a little odd. How did we forget about a Community Day? Sorry, Geodude. The forgotten Community Day in question featured a pretty common Pokemon. Because this month was the Season of Alola, we were destined to get a Pokemon from the Alolan region. After all,… [Continue Reading]

Little Things That Bug Me in Destiny 2

With a new season just coming out, it’s back to farming for levels and bounties, mixed up with some new story stuff and a new 6-player mission. However, I’m taking a quick break from said season, because there are some things that are bothering me about Destiny 2, and I wasted most of my energy trying to get to rank 100 on the previous season pass. Anyway, here are some things that annoy the hell out of me. Ledge Grabbing Destiny 2 has ledge grabbing. If you are a tiny bit short on a jump, you can grab onto the… [Continue Reading]

#SaveTF2

The first First Person Shooter I ever played was Left 4 Dead, followed by Garry’s Mod. When I bought Garry’s Mod, I had a choice, I could get Counter-Strike: Source or Team Fortress 2, two of the games needed to make Garry’s Mod work. Back then, Garry’s Mod required a Source game to run at all, and I picked the bright and colourful Team Fortress 2 over the rather dark and dusty Counter-Strike. That decision right there, my choosing Team Fortress 2, has utterly shaped me as a human being. Seriously. Team Fortress 2 changed my life. For the better.… [Continue Reading]

A Mad Dash to the Finish Line in Destiny 2

Around about now, the Season of the Risen in Destiny 2 is coming to an end. Originally, after I finished up with the Witch Queen, I kinda just decided I was done with Destiny 2 for a bit, and went to play something else. However, I had failed to realize that there was something I wanted in the premium season pass: a cool emote. An emote right at the very end of the current season pass. At the time, I kinda said I wouldn’t do it. I didn’t fancy grinding up a whole season pass, and I wasn’t sure that… [Continue Reading]

An Addiction to the Jump Key

If you have been browsing the Daily SPUF for a while, you may have noticed that our chief editor hates anything to do with parkour, platforming and jumping puzzles. Before any sort of parkour can be done, there’s always some hesitation. After all, most games kill you if you fall into a pit. However, despite my uneasy parkour ‘skills’ (I am not skilled in any way), there’s something odd about how I play video games. I rarely have my feet firmly planted on the ground. In fact, when I move around, I probably jump too much. But why? Why am… [Continue Reading]

How Does This Jump Jetpack Thing Even Work?

I like my Warlock in Destiny 2. While I keep my yellow Exo covered up at all times, I’ve had the Exo for so long that I don’t mind how yellow and ugly my character looks. Not only that, but I enjoy the gameplay and the abilities of Warlocks too. My current favourite is Void Warlock, and I am working on a build so I can throw more grenades on the regular. However, there is one thing I despise about my Warlock. What the fuck is this jumping ability? I’ve been playing Destiny 2 for a while and I still… [Continue Reading]

On Lava and Looking Hot

Sea of Thieves has quite a lot of different cosmetics. Absolutely tons of gear to customize your character. While the character creation screen is one of the strangest I have ever seen in a video game, at least Sea of Thieves makes up for it by having a ton of cosmetics that can be bought or unlocked. However, you can also unlock Curses, which are basically TF2’s Unusual gear except for your skin. Curses look really cool, but they are obtained by doing all sorts of difficult tasks. So, when I next played with Bacxaber and his crew, we all… [Continue Reading]

Meet the Medic is still the best Meet the Team short

I actually was planning to write a different article today. I’ve got about 40 different articles that I have started. And by ‘started’ I mean I wrote a couple of sentences and then not done anything else. It happens a lot, the brain writes what the brain wants. Today’s article now is something completely different. How I got from complaining to Destiny 2’s jump mechanics to watching Meet the Medic for the umpteenth time, I have no idea. But here I am, writing about Meet the Medic anyway. Mostly because I’ve re-watched it like 6-7 times now, always spotting little… [Continue Reading]
